  • what graphics card are you using, I can see you are running this in max settings =)

  • i got to space ace on the original when i was a kid. I cant get over how many hours i spent with that game. My brother found out in snackman you can eat and chase the ghosts in the house and then back and forth in the house and if you can get millions.

  • I played this *SO* much as a kid, thanks for posting! Brings me back...

  • The Vic-20 was released in 1981. Well actually the Japanese version the Vic-1001 was released in late 1980. But anyway the only Commodore hardware available in 1978 was the Pet which was released in 1977.

  • I remember playing this game on the Commodore VIC-20 during the mid-1980s.

  • Gorf on the VIC 20 really does have huge borders.

If you watch the video I posted up there, near the end, I pan back out from the screen, to show the huge borders.

That was recorded using a real VIC 20, as opposed to an emulator.

  • I use VICE for both the VIC and C64 vids and use the FFMPEG driver for both so it is a quirk of VIC-VICE as it creates double width borders for a 16:9 image when uploaded to youtube (but the C64 videos are spot on using the same file formats when uploaded)

So it's a quirk of VICE VIC20 video recording function (even though it uses the same files for doing the C64 videos)

  • I played, and I had fun playing, both ColecoVision and VIC-20 version of this game.

My question is : which emulator you are using... I never saw that much screen border before for a VIC-20 screen, in a youtube video.
