  • This is amazing! Could you please tell me how to achieved the text effect? Thanks

  • The part with all the cells reminds me of the beginning credits of "Fight Club." Great work =D

  • Wow, great work :) I'm just a beginner in after effects, it's nice to see what I can do if I know how

  • that's nice about the virus 82 a new idea

  • like it so much! i'm i filmmaker, i'm shooting an horror short movie right now, would you give me this title project for the opening? your name will figure in the credits of course!

  • Good God. I'll have your babies.

  • dont overdo it with the videocopilot stuff, apart from that very very nice....

  • Looks a lot like a scene from Saw. And that's a good thing :)

  • @JordJames I'm stalking you ;)

  • this was brilliant.

  • Well done, nicely crafted, and not overusing the flicker.

  • Hey, I was just wondering, how long do you think a video like this can be made in AAE with only 2 Gb of ram???

I'm just asking because I've tried to make some stuff and After Effects crashes when rendering.

  • @ChaaGal Hi I know what you mean it always crashes on me, I made this on a mac with 2gb of ram. I made every shot separately and edited them together in premiere. Also make sure you are adding to render list rather than exporting I think this took about 30 - 40 hours to make but not sure?? hope that helped

  • @Deweysi

Try holding down the Shift Key while accessing the AE preferences. You'll find a 'Secrret Menu' which allows you to flush the Cache during rendering ever 20 frames or so. Usually helps me.

  • @ChaaGal if you render it out with the After Effects Render Engine (a separate program which is hidden, but comes with After Effects) then it is less likely to crash.

Just search youtube for After Effects Render Engine Tutorial. :]

  • @lukecutforth Ok, I'll look for it, thanks

  • pretty nice work, very liked it

  • riot gear right? or no

  • @Skater4Life8o5 no riot gear only twitch and designer sound fx

  • @Deweysi twich is so sick. i had it from the demo and it was pretty cool. all the presets and stuff make clips look 100x better haha

  • oh my god

  • That was brilliant, the course im studying at tafe only touches briefly on After effects. Best video to use the twitch plug in :D

  • Nice. Reminds me of the opening sequence for Manhunt the Rockstar PS2 game.

  • Nice job. This looks better then most movie trailers out there today.

  • fuck that was sweet man!

  • wow that is amazing! that really inspired me! well done! good luck with uni

  • thank u very much!

  • man.. I want the preset used in this 0:17... :( I don't want the whole Twitch just the preset... anyone have it?

  • @kurogane2x This was not just a standard preset used here. I duplicated the footage, scaled it and changed the transfer mode (screen i think). then keyframed the layer on and off and used twitch for the colour tearing. You can do basically the same using the wiggler for the vertical movements, light leaks for random flashes and tv effects along with noise for distortion.

  • @Deweysi wow thats alot for an effect :(

  • nice job man! it was awesome, hope you pass university!

  • really nice

  • Well Exporting isn't that great. and with After effects I've had to turn the brightness down just a bit to get the desired effects. Try rendering it instead of exporting it

  • when u export a video, how do you get it to look the same as it dd when u edited? when i export, all the colors are brighter. the black turn to dark grey

  • Not sure why that is I had a similar video in the test shot I uploaded. I usually export as .mov with H.264 encoding, I think that works

  • H.264 Colors are brighter ... this is a bug with the codec ... try another encoding like mpeg4, or photo jpg ... There is also some people trying to fix this bug with another plug-in called x264, but i'm not sure if it works well

  • Cool! How did you those moving cells at the start of the video?

  • very good

    love the audio

  • wow fucking ausome (good job man = ) )

  • what course did you take?

  • i took digital media at Canterbury Christchurch University in Broadstairs

  • oh also, the "virus" in the bottle looks like a red blood cell. you should have created an actual virus shape and maybe mixed it in with the other cells.

  • that was great.

make sure to thank Andrew Kramer at Video Copilot for the inspiration/effects/sounds!

  • Yup, Kramer is the man and I am actually working on a project using those same blood cells he created.

  • good job on this, i liked it.

  • very thrilling...

    its the best title...

    5 stars....

  • Hey this is amazing, well done! I love all the subtle aftereffects techniques and the way that the sound really follows the action. Which uni are you studying at?

  • HI there thanks for the comments - im studying at Canterbury Christchurch Uni Broadstairs (England). If you like this piece and want to give more support please go to virgin media shorts and post a comment

    thanks

  • Well done, Simon. Loved it during the critique.

    Anthony
