Jesus is a fictional character.... FACT! Henry you make some good points, however all the stats you give at the beginning are meaningless, as if religion ceased, all the problems you mention, I believe would disappear. Countries where birth control is illegal due to religious dogma, initiates a whole host of problems..... Fact of the matter is, without religion, we would be without religious extremists, Without them, no reason for war, sorry, no justification other then the sole purpose. CONTROL
George Carlin owns religion, watch his vids on Youtube. If you aren't brain washed that is. I will be very surprised if this gets posted Christians love to censor.
@OfficialSonOfRock It's larger than anything you could ever imagine. No one knows the full size of the universe, scientist lean more about it everyday. As of now it's known to be at least 150 billion light-years in diameter. I'm sure you will disagree with NASA about this and tell me the earth is at the center of the universe and it's only 10,000 years old. Because that's what the Bible says.
This man has issues. He certainly has a chip on his shoulder with conservative Christians. It is my perception that someone down the line offended this man and he never found the spiritual maturity to get over it. He does not represent Jesus, or Christianity. And what he is saying is untrue. God have mercy on him
I do not believe in killing babies before they travel through the birth canal.
I am NOT defending "religious right". What I am saying is that this man is clearly bitter and disillusioned
I had an internet ministry for 10 years. I have been accused of being an money monger too! That is the FURTHEST from the truth! Too many people believe demonic accusations that are lies
I have personally given people THOUSANDS of dollars... the TOTAL donations I received thru this ministry in 10 years? $5.00
Have you spent 12 weeks in an NICU? I have! I practically lived there. I saw dozens of babies that was born prematurely. They are EXTREMELY small. Actually, they are blood red because they are so young their skin has not yet formed. They are about the same size as a frog.
Try telling those loving family members when they come to visit their premature babies that they are not really babies - they are fetuses.
My wife is 14 weeks pregnant. In fact this is my 5th child. Every time we went for an ultrasound (over 20X now) the doctors talk about the BABY. NEVER have they EVER said come and see your fetus (that's not even a human baby!) Absurd!
Go on TV and tell the millions of doctors around the world to stop calling a "inhuman" fetus a baby. Try telling the hundreds of millions of women around the world who are currently pregnant (longing to see their baby in an ultrasound) that it is not a real human!
look, troll, i'm not getting in a pissing contest with you over your emotional vernacular definition of the word "baby".
of course, your doctor would say to you and your wife "baby" out of respect for you and her but look what he writes in your wife's medical records "fetus".
Good to hear from you. Its definitely not my intention to condemn you, or anyone else that has abortions. I am deeply saddened and angry that such an atrocity can happen in a so called "civilized" world.
You answer is good. You have said a lot of things that make sense.
you asked, how is a fetus not a human? It is. And that is my point. We, as a "civilized" culture are killing millions of humans
It doesn't matter what you call it- it is an innocent human life. Who are we to kill innocent lives?
it's doesn't matter if it's human...but it's inside another human;s body and that human has civil rights and their own personal autonomy.
western societies would be uncivilized to force those women to stay pregnant against their will and yet have a constitution that supports individual freedom and liberty.
Are you out of your mind? Do you have no regard for another person's life?
Barbaric
Just because your body is someone else's home doesn't mean you have the right to kill.
Just because my son lives in MY HOUSE doesn't give me the right to kill him! Just because a human lives inside of you doesn't give you the right to kill!
That's ruthless, barbaric, and completely uncivilized and will be brought to light and justice in time.
YOU fucking pro-life fascist, do you not know where babies come from? did you forget that fetus IS INSIDE SOMEONE ELSE'S BODY and that person has a civil right and to her personal autonomy.
a woman's has a civil right to her body not to be used against her will by anyone, including a fetus. sex doesn't= permission.
me=born, killing me would be illegal.
abortion been legal for 40 years, so go protest at an abortion clinic and watch those women follow their civil rights and ignore ur morality
I watched this video about a Christian leftist man saying objectionable things about the Christian right. As a Christian I decided to comment.
I received a lot of immature name calling from you.
If you believe in killing innocent humans what are you doing here? Are you a Christian?
If you are a Christian the bible CLEARLY teaches that your body is not your own. It belongs to God. Therefore you don't have the right to do "anything you want" with your body... let alone killing someone else's
You called me a troll. Anyone with two cents to rub together can read through this past several posts and see that you are the one out of place, my dear. Don't be so immature.
You are an atheist? What are you doing here?
Being so ignorant and rude don't prove anything, nor does it accomplish anything. It just proves your ignorance and sticking pride.
Your own words condemn you. You talk in circles trying to justify barbaric behavior. Jesus have mercy on you
@OfficialSonOfRock and you are the one who is out of place IN THE WORLD. your arrogance is just as rude , and ur assumption of superiority even more so. You can't even follow the tennents of your own faith and you come to preach at others. Get a grip.
@OfficialSonOfRock Ok then how about you prove something to all of us. Prove there is a GOD, prove Jesus even ever lived, hell prove the bible is about love and not hate.
If you simply do not want to believe just because you hate God, or because you want to justify your ungodly lifestyle, then there is no reason to argue this.
Bottom line: If there is a God, would you WANT to believe? If not, there is no use arguing.
@OfficialSonOfRock How can I hate or love something that's figment of your imagination? Your argument is a paradox. LOL "ungodly lifestyle"? That's your opinion, but not at all based on any fact. Also I have all kinds of reasons to argue this! We will never go away nor we shut up just because you want us too! And don't think your religion is free from criticism. I'm first to call something bullshit when I see it. Keep your religion to your self and out of politics! And we will all get along.
The biggest figment of imagination is that your great great great great... grandfather was a piece of slime that crawled out the ocean one day. Or is that true?
My ancestors wasn't slime-balls. Yours?
God is an imagination? wow! that's more of a miracle!
Imagination is changing lives, healing marriages, and ruling nations throughout the world. Wow, that's incredible. If thats the case everyone needs more of it!
I can keep my religion to myself IF you can keep your religion (atheism) to yourself
@OfficialSonOfRock You do know in the scientific community there is essentially universal agreement that the evidence of evolution is overwhelming, and the scientific consensus supporting the modern evolutionary synthesis is nearly absolute. So I bet you hate this evil science don't ya! Even though you enjoy all it's given you! That is correct sir God is in your imagination only. In other words everything you believe is total bullshit and your a slave to it.
@OfficialSonOfRock A few scientists does not speak for the scientific community as a whole. The fact is it's internationally accepted and a standerd in biology. Trust me, your not special and everything can be proven. I'm not an prideful person. As for a fact I have spent a great deal of my life helping others. I'm a former Fire Fighter and a Paramedic. I put my life on the line for a stranger often. You can say I'm ignorant all you wish but it's you sir who are slave. And yes I love my self!
@xaviervonrottie You must have missed something. A few scientists? I think you mean a few thousand. It just depends who you talk to. Scientists are vastly biased. If they want to justify themselves, or their lifestyle they will "prove" there is no God. If they are honest and think for themselves, then we see a different point of view.
I appreciate fact you have spent a great deal of my life helping others. And you are proud of it. However without God in your life, then you become your own god.
@OfficialSonOfRock One thing out of all of your gibberish was true. You are your own master. No one pulls my stings no more than your self. You and only you pave the road you follow. Funny that you should bring up humanism in your other post. Because I'm a ordained Humanist Minister. I selflessly help others often. I have done several marriages (gay and straight). As well as several funerals. All free of charge! I look out for my interests as well as others. If that makes me prideful so be it.
I honor you for doing what you do. You have what a lot of so called "Christian" ministers need. That is, a desire to actually help and not just bang people over the head with legalism.
I have one question in this regard - Why? Why do you do what you do?
@OfficialSonOfRock If miracles are real why have I not ever seen someone come back from the dead or Grow a leg back after it's gone? Show me this and I will shut up, you have my word. What about all of the failed marriages? I guess God did not care about them huh? Also do I really need to bring up Benny Hinn?Miracles just like religion are all in your mind! What nations does your God rule over? Oh I forgot ;The Vatican. I will get you that one! Atheism is not a religion. I'm a free thinker!
Too many ?s to answer here. But I will start with your first:
You have not ever seen anyone come back from the dead because your head is buried the sand of secular humanism, secular media, ans secular education.
God is raising the dead all over the world. In the ministries of David Hogan, Reinhard Bonnke, TL Osborne, Smith Wigglesworth..etc. there are MANY more.
For example: David Hogan has seen over 400 people raised from the dead.
This is not 2 mention the COUNTLESS miracles I personally saw
@OfficialSonOfRock Your comment is nonsense! You say God is raising the dead all over the world, but yet again this is nothing more than a supernatural argument with not bases of reality what so ever. "For example: David Hogan has seen over 400 people raised from the dead. (Zombies?) This is not 2 mention the COUNTLESS miracles I personally saw." Wow! Are you all mental? Or just on some really powerful hallucinogenic drugs?
Like I said, if you get your head out of the sand of secular humanism, secular media, and secular education then you will see. There is a LOT more out there than what you read in the newspaper, see on CNN, and are taught by other humanists.
Mental? Hallucinations? If you really look at the evidence with an unbiased point of view you will see the answer to these questions are both, no. Sure, there are flakes out there. They are everywhere, in every circle. But there is a lot of authentic evidence
@OfficialSonOfRock Everything has an rational explanation. I will give you an example. 10,000 years ago people had no idea what natural phenomenons where. If there were an earth quake, storm, tornado, etc. It had to be God! Now we know better, because man has spent hundreds years learning and understanding how these things work. We now know a earth quake is not the wrath of God, well most of us anyway. It's a natural movement of the earths tectonic plates.
I guess you have never read one of the oldest books in history - Job, which is also a book of the bible. Job explains in detail the weather patterns and natural phenomena. Isaiah explains that the earth is round... THOUSANDS of years before secular scientists figured that out. SOME secular scientists try to explain God away. They will end up just like the scientist of old - humiliated, and WRONG.
There is much more to this world that you think. Get out of your little secular box, and take a look
12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH.
"He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in. (From the NIV Bible, Isaiah 40:22)"
First of all, a circle is not a ball or sphere or an egg-shaped object. A circle is a flat round surface, similar to flat rectangular, or square, or triangular surfaces. So if the Bible claims that the Earth is a circle, then this is still bogus because the earth is obviously not a flat surface.
If we were to take condition #1, then we are left with a clear and irrefutable contradiction between Isaiah 40:22 and some of the Bible's verses that I mentioned above in the article, because a flat circle doesn't have "four corners", and ironically in either case, we still have a scientifically false claim about the Earth's shape.
IF we were to take condition #2, then it doesn't prove that the Earth is an egg-shaped figure, and Isaiah 40:22 surely becomes irrelevant to this subject.
One thing is for sure clear, and that is Isaiah 40:22 is obviously ambiguous and not clear if we wish to prove from it that the Earth is not flat and is egg-shaped.
If we look at what the entire Bible says (as presented above by all the Verses) about the shape of the Earth as the Roman Catholic Church did in the past, then we would reach the same conclusion they reached, and that is: The Earth is Flat!
Certainly, when Christopher Columbus thought that he could reach India by going west in the Atlantic ocean instead of east as it was traditionally done, the Church in Europe was afraid that he will eventually reach the "end of the earth" and the "Edges of the earth" as the Bible clearly says above, and fall off into the space and die.
After he was able to convince the Queen that the adventure was worth the try, Christopher Columbus had survived several assassination attempts while he and his people were sailing in the ocean, because his Christian Church-believing mates were afraid and wanted to go back.
When he finally found America, he thought he reached India. That's why the North American Continent was called "India", and the Native Americans were called "Red Indians".
This is at least what I learned from my "US History" class when I was in High School.
Does Satan have any part in destructive weather catastrophes?
Job 1:9-12, 19 "Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath... But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee ...
And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand ... And behold, there came a great wind ...and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell ...."
Job 2:3 "And the Lord said unto Satan, ... [Job] holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause."
However, strangely enough Satan's efforts must pass divine approval and are limited to the extent God allows.
Job 2:6"And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold he is in thine hand; but save his life."
God controls weather, always.
Isaiah 29:6 "Thou shalt be visited of the Lord of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire."
Psalm 107:25, 29 "For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.... He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.."
Mark 4:39, 41 (cp. Matthew 8:26-27; Luke 8:23-25)"And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm....and [they] said ...even the wind and the sea obey him."
Isaiah 29:6 "Thou shalt be visited of the Lord of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire."
Job 37:6 "For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth..."
"...he causeth ...lightnings with rain..." (Jeremiah 10:13)
Would you like for me to show you more? As you can see I do in fact know what the Bible says. If you remember what I told you before, you will see I have proven what I was telling you about people 10,000 years ago did not fully understand natural phenomenon. It's clear that it was often thought and taught to others that it was God doing it. This is not Science! This gross misunderstanding of natural events.
That is what you read into the scripture. That is what you think it means. But I respectfully disagree.
Before we get too far down this path there remains a question unanswered by you: Among your boasting you said, "I selflessly help others often." Why? Why do you do what you do?
@OfficialSonOfRock I'm free in my life. Free from mind control, free from dogma, and free from paranoia. I don't need your superstitious beliefs and practices to to feel whole. Charitable behavior is a natural part of the human physiology. It has nothing to do with religion. Self-centered, aggressive, or uncharitable behavior might be part of our repertoire, but it’s good to remember that we also have the potential for greater kindness, love, and respect. It’s up to each of us to cultivate it.
When we consider the ethics and morals of our actions, self-serving or otherwise, we can see that they are abstract rationalizations that we use to justify our own actions or decry the actions of others. Anyone at any given time can interpret any given principle in any way that suits their immediate needs and/or preconceived notions/ideals.
There are no universal degrees of morality. Various cultures/peoples/eras have various “ethics” and “morals”, thereby nullifying and potential for universality.
The underlying principal of ‘doing good’ would seem easy if this idea was clearly defined in a universal way, however, it is not, and this leads people back to the use of self-defined rationalizations. There can be no absolute save the one that there are no absolutes.
Based on this, the idea that all human actions can ultimately seen as self-serving to one degree or another, it stands to reason that this should simply be seen as one more factor of human behavior, not as a ‘bad’ or ‘good’ thing, but similar to our tendency to walk up-right, use complex methods of communication and live in man-made structures.
Rather than aim for the lofty notion that we can somehow separate ourselves from the powerful instinct of self-preservation at all costs, we should be ready to embrace the fact that we not only recognize it but that we can control it. That is what makes us human, our ability to recognize our own actions, that the ability to rationalize them, or excuse them.
I nominate you for shooting the biggest load of crap on youtube.
u claim to be charitable, kind, and humane.
The truth is that you are one of the most IGNORANT people I have ever met.
You asked a series of questions about miracles. I began to answer you by referring you to 1 person through whom God raised HUNDREDS of people from the dead.
Without disproving me you sit back on your fat butt and hit the "IGNORE" button.
How wise! How intelligent! one word - IGNORANT. You are fooling yourself.
@OfficialSonOfRock You keep on calling me IGNORANT (in all capital letters). But yet you have proved nothing out side of your faith based argument to me. And calling me names by far does your cause zero good! It just proves a point many already believe; most Christians (such as your self) are Self-righteous and arrogant.
@OfficialSonOfRock It's larger than anything you could ever imagine. No one knows the full size of the universe, scientist leran more about it everyday. As of now it's known to be at least 150 billion light-years in diameter. I'm sure you will disagree with NASA about this and tell me the earth is at the center of the universe and it's only 10,000 years old. Because that's what the Bible says.
@OfficialSonOfRock It's larger than anything you could ever imagine. No one knows the full size of the universe, scientist learn more about it everyday. As of now it's known to be at least 150 billion light-years in diameter. I'm sure you will disagree with NASA about this and tell me the earth is at the center of the universe and it's only 10,000 years old. Because that's what the Bible says.
@OfficialSonOfRock Lets say that you actually mean the diameter of our visible universe which is a sphere with a radius of about 15 billion light years. Now, a galaxy like our Milky Way has a diameter of about 90,000 light years, so the ratio of these two collections of matter is 15 billion/90,000 = 167,000 to 1.
The radius of the Earth is 6378 kilometers, so it this were the Visible Universe, the Milky Way would have a radius of 6378/37500 = 170 meters. On the same scale, our solar system is even smaller.
The radius of our solar system is about 40 Astronomical Units, and there are 64,200 of these per light year. This means the Milky Way compared to the solar system is 64,200/40 x 90,000 = 144 million times bigger.
So, if in our model the Milky Way is 150 meters in radius, the solar system is 150/144,000,000 or 0.001 millimeters in radius or 1 micron. This is about as big as some small dust particles! The visible universe's radius would be 167,000x150 meters = 25,000 kilometers from your model.
@OfficialSonOfRock I see where your going with this. As of now I don't have time to spend on this back and forth debate of facts vs faith. I unlike some do research rather than pretend I know what I'm talking about. This takes up a lot of time and I just dont have it right now to spend with you. So I wish you the best in your life, and hope you find what ever it is your looking in it. I leave you with good will and peace. I ask the same of you.
You are the one who decided to jump in and challenge me. I am up for the challenge. You don't know who you are talking to. And you don't know what you are talking about.
I am NOT who you think I am.
Haven't seen miracles? Come over to my place. Awesome miracles happen here every day.
Re: Your universe model.. The point is that even if your brain was the size of the entire solar system it is NOTHING compared to the universe. I guess your great and mighty intellect is big enough to know it all!
You are blind, and willingly ignorant. But thats not a surprise. Enjoy your life now. Cause when you DIE you are going to get a BIG surprise.
In regards to amputees; open your blind, dull eyes (if you can). But as ignorant as your are you wouldn't believe even if it happened before your eyes. After all, you have to have something to justify your putrid lifestyle.
You have an appointment with death. You have an appointment with God, whether you like it or not and whether you believe it or not
i'm the one telling the truth as it is in reality, any woman in the western world has a civil right to her body to get a legal abortion....you're the one saying that they don;t have a right, so you are lying.
you're the one using the bible in this debate, there is not prove that your god exists and most of the world don't even follow your religion...so why use it?
i can go and do whatever i want as long as it's legal.
You are talking in circles. I don't really expect you to agree with me. After all, its hard to find a murderer who will admit they are guilty.
Difference: Still born babies are given "human" status therefore they can be legally named, and a proper funeral service can be conducted.
Abortion = brutal slaying not giving the baby "human" status therefore they are not named, and denied even a proper funeral. Even terrorists allow their victims dead bodies to treated better and given proper funerals.
when did i say a still-born wasn't human? if you choose to give it a name and proper funeral...dead sill-born babies and fetuses, don't get a legal name...because they wasn't born.
it's not a baby, but a fetus. why would you give medical waste a funeral?
how old R U? considering your immature name calling i want to make sure i'm not talking to a child senior citizen= human middle-aged adult=human young adult=human teen=human tween=human child=human toddler=human infant=human baby=human fetus=human it doesn't matter what stage of life: a human deserves respect and dignity. killing a fetus is killing a human. just in case you don't know what's that's called: its called murder am i calling you a murderer? absolutely. there's no doubt about it
killing a fetus is killing a human...your point is?
killing a death row inmate is still killing a human.
killing a brain dead person is still killing a human.
both of those accounts are legal murder too just like abortion....are those things wrong? it's depends on your morality.
but forcing a woman to stay pregnant against her will, her civil rights, and her personal autonomy makes you a fascist. but yet, you are talking about respect and dignity?
I have to give you credit. You are light years ahead of most pro "choice" proponents.
You admit:
1. a fetus is a human
2. killing a fetus is killing a human
3. abortion is legal murder.
Hats off to you ma'am.
however, an abortion cannot be compared to a death row inmate. A fetus is absolutely innocent and has done nothing deserving death.
Also, an abortion cannot be compared to a brain dead person. An unborn human is not in pain and torment. He or she has a hope and a future in this world.
it just your own morality of it, like your opinion of the word " innocent" how can a brain-dead embryo be innocent? it hasn't developed to any yet, it's just a clump of skin and cartilage.
and it doesn't have do anything, it's unwanted inside a woman's body...you do you keep forgetting the woman who is carrying it inside her body and her feelings in the matter?
i guess, in your logic, a brain-dead person is innocent too.
a fetus is a human.. not a "clump of skin and cartilage"
take a 18 week-old "fetus" for example:
If you were to take an 18 week old abortion victim, and put it directly beside an 18 week old premature baby they are EXACTLY the SAME THING. They are EXACTLY the same size, have EXACTLY the same features, and act EXACTLY the same way.
calling an innocently slaughtered dead baby a piece of "medical waste" is barbaric, cruel, ignorant, and sadistic... talk about HITLER!
1. Troll - I watched a Christian man talk about the Christian right. As I Christian man myself I decided to comment. You are an "atheist". Who's the troll?
2. Fascist - Fascist regimes have one thing in common - brutal murder of innocent human lives. Abortion proponents have more in common with fascists then I will ever have.
3. Dumb - I know of at least 2 cases where babies lived at 18 weeks. But the POINT is they are not simply "skin and cartilage" but precious babies
Still never answered how old you are. Sound like an immature name-calling kid to me
all you have in your favor is a VERY corrupt judicial system that WILL change
U said that a fetus is "medical waste. you can't give it a funeral. " NOT TRUE. There have been thousands of funerals for fetuses. do your homework
You seem so confident that fetuses have no rights. Even the King of Abortion, Obama, said he DOESN'T KNOW when a human is entitled to human rights. This holocaust WILL end soon. mark my word
@OfficialSonOfRock I will speak up. I'm 32. I was just looking through some of your comments and I just had to reply. You compare Fascist regimes to abortionsHow about blowing up a doctors building that preforms abortions
@OfficialSonOfRock How about the life the unwanted children will live? I for one think it's much more humane that there never brought up in poverty. Most of all what do plan to do with all them? Are you willing to take each of them? Last time I checked there were thousands of children waiting to be adopted already.
Since then, I have discovered that there are plenty of abortion survivors who live successful, fulfilling lives. Who was I to judge what kind of life they will live, and kill them before they could get a chance.
James Robison is known all over the world for his great work in Africa - feeding millions of hungry children. He is a product of rape, his mother wanted to abort him. Thank God she didn't. He has been a blessing to tens of millions of children.
Henry isn't misrepresenting Christianity. He's EXPOSING the same junk Jesus was against. So if you consider yourself a Christian, instead of attacking people like Henry for having the guts to speak up, how about you be honest and admit there are some problems and be a part of the solution. If you're not in cahoots with the "power hungry Christians" then speak up against them, not people like Henry. DUH!!!!
Our God feeds all, and provides for all, their ailment is from their lack of faith - the Christian world is hardly starving and is bountiful with Charity.
You are misrepresenting the Christian community, you have distorted the truth, taken human error, advertised it as the norm, and attacked Christianity. Although human christians can be real bone heads, in out defense Christ is a really hard act to follow, and we suffer from the mistakes of the power hungry that use christianity as a means to increase themselves. That is not the norm. What you say is twisted truth, and that is the most evil way to appeal to people. Shame on you.
One thing I see here in this very thoughtful, honest & educational video is a person who is fed up with all the CRAP that his party & faith have been spreading around needlessly for thier own enrichment. At least he has facts & numbers to back up his arguments. If you can pull some facts out of your empty head & make a compelling argument against what this gentelman is saying then people will listen. Otherwise do youself & all of us a BIG favor & dry up.
Very well said.........Many people ie. Catholics,Jews etc, especially us gays, are so sick and tired of the bashing to become magically "cured" by these horrible right wing conservative Christians with the typical... "prayer will make you something you're, in reality not. Or..... it's the lovely "turn or burn" approach. You seem like an intelligent soul, with much empathy. The world needs more like you. God bless and all the best to you.
it seems that these people, influenced by the bible as they are, should care more about helping the disadvantaged than enforcing their idioms, such as the anti-gay, anti-abortion agenda, on those who dont share their beliefs.
its time these mega-churches and money gilded evangelicals stopped hoarding money for their own purposes and started distributing ALL their wealth to the needy, not just 10 percent. jesus said, to follow him, give up everything you own and give it to the poor. while this might be extreme in modern times, it should be followed in spirit. yet most on the 'religious right' react violently to government sponsered safety nets for the old and poor and disabled.
you give me faith that christianity can be reconciled with its mantras (the bible).
the divide between what the christian right preaches and what jesus preached has become greater and greater. i tire of christians who are taught to cite the old testament to justify the violence and intolerance of their political stance, whilst jesus clearly abolished the old law in favor of love, charity, and tolerance.
Romans 13 says that leaders do not bear the sword in vain, that is, a presumably righteous leader has a God-given authority to oppose evil nations and evil factions within his own nation, and by force if necessary.
Jesus said to pray for your enemies, etc, but this is matter of personal relationships, not national security.
Wow i always thought that was going on but didn't think it was that bad. Not that i am religious but seriously wow. That is assuming you're right, which u very well may be.
Don't "throw the baby out with the bath water". The problem is not with Jesus or His message, or with "sincere Christians", of which there still are many. Quite frankly, we have a leadership problem. The majority of the Christian hierarchy is compromised, corrupt, greedy and arrogant. But, unforunately, most Christians trust their leaders implicitly.
The problem isn't "corrupt Christians," the problem is "corrupt atheists." No person of at least average intelligence can do a comprehensive study of church history or the bible, and still believe in god. The church leaders are atheists of the immoral variety who, rather than teach christians the errors of their ways, use their knowledge and power to deceive, manipulate, and extort money from the ignorant, "true-believers."
You claim to be a "conservative evangelical pastor," but all your talking points are lifted straight from the left-wing anti-evangelical Christian-haters.
You mean that war is justified by Jesus? And mega-churches are God's will when there are still homeless and hungry. The left wing is the wing of peace. Why does that frighten you?
Some war is justified by Jesus. The building of mega-churches is no indication of their giving to the needy (or lack thereof). The left-wing is no "wing of peace!" I'm frightened by such lies. "We're for peace (now let's bomb some aspirin factories and abort some babies)."
And "pacifist, wimpy, never harsh Jesus" was made up by people who don't want to follow the hard truths of the Bible. War in defense of the defenseless is just. Righteous war is just. Jesus scourged the temple with a whip. Was that pacifist? Jesus will open the seals to start the End Days' war(s). Is that pacifist?
end of days my ass, can you say plagerism? the whole of christianity was plagerised from countless other older religions. get a grip and grow a brain. hell even half a brain would help you.
Regurgitated lies will get you nowhere. Many have claimed that Christianity was "plagiarized" from other religions, but none of the claims have ever held up under scrutiny. But please - continue to mindlessly repeat things you've read on whatever your favorite atheist website is while acting like they're your brand new, original ideas.
Is that pacifist?
jesus and the bible were probably made up by the same thiving, liars that made the church as well.religion is meant for one thing, controlling mens thoughts. control what people think then you control the people. how do you like being controlled and brainwashed JMcH?
Too bad serious scholars and historians disagree with you. The only fools who believe "Jesus and the Bible were made up" are ignorant skeptics with chips on their shoulders.
i don't have the chip on my shoullder jmch. i'm just telling it as it is. unfortunately those that have been brainwashed such as yourself have trouble with truth and reality. good luck with that.
You can go to hell for calling someone a fool (Matthew 5:22). So, you really believe God would not forgive us for pissing him off, unless we tortured and stapled him to a stick?
As usual, a skeptic tries to use Bible verses completely out of context:
"But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother [a fellow believer] will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca,' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says [to a fellow believer], 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell."
Skeptics are not my brothers (fellow believers). They are all fools and that includes you. Fool. Fool. Fool. Fool. Fool. Fool. Fool.
Jesus did not say, Anyone who says to his brother, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell... He said, Anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell. You might think I'm a fool, but at least you love me (Matthew 5:44).
You continue to take the verse out of context, fool. The verse you are quoting out of context, fool, is about calling fellow believers "fools," not fools like you. It is not a stand-alone verse as you are foolishly trying to portray it, fool. It goes along with the previous verses, fool.
And yes, fool, I love you as much as Jesus loved the people he called "fools" in Matthew 23 and Luke 11. Sometimes love requires hard truths, fool. You probably wouldn't know that, however, fool that you are.
No, just radical right Bible thumping Neo-Puritan. If your kind of Christian took over America, I'd be stoned to death if I was lucky since I fit into one of the fundies fave targets to preach hate against. And what certain Dominionist fundies aren't saying is how once in power, all other faiths save their own would be banned and their adherents persecuted/killed....So my moitto eternally shall be Sic Semper Mors Theocratis et Tyrannis! (So be it DEATH ALWAYS to theocrats and tyrants!!)
Thats funny seeing how more men, women, and children have been murdered, raped and mutilated in the name of Jesus christ than any other diety in recorded history. History is the greatest defender of this truth.
My research and studies into the bloody origins and history of christianity revealed to me the truth, and the truth set me free.
Arrogantly they blame non-believers for the worst atrocities, but history reveals the exact opposite of this blatant lie!
I don't get my information from any external atheist or skeptic source.
I got from my own people, I am 1/5 native american, and my family knows just what my ancestors went through during manifest destiny and popular sovereignty perpetuated by people of the christian faith, just ask any Native American spiritist or shaman who know the history and they will tell you all about it.
No, but it was religion and racial prejudice that was used to implement the suffering of the Native Americans. And this is just not the ones in North America, there were the events of St. Catherine's Isle, Columbus, etc...
Actually, it is in many academically credible history books, such as
A Documentary History of Religion in America to 1877 by Gaustad, which is actual documentation going back to Columbus about the Christian presence in the new world.
You sound like you do not read too many history books, or that you have not reached high school yet. In fact, the first thing they teach you in American history is that Columbus was actually quite the bastard.
To say that Jesus doesnt justify war is to say that he disagrees with his Father, who ordered many wars in the Bible.. See Revelation 19:21 talks about the general of the last war.. Christ
Loved it.

CONTROL

honey, i don't care what you believe, but it's not a baby, if it's not born. it's called emotive-vernacular language.
so you said he is "bitter and disillusioned" w/o really say how, is like an ad hominem.
FREEAMERICANOW69 2 years ago
I see. It's really all about abortion isn't it?
Have you spent 12 weeks in an NICU? I have! I practically lived there. I saw dozens of babies that was born prematurely. They are EXTREMELY small. Actually, they are blood red because they are so young their skin has not yet formed. They are about the same size as a frog.
Try telling those loving family members when they come to visit their premature babies that they are not really babies - they are fetuses.
That in itself is cruel and inhuman.
OfficialSonOfRock 2 years ago
when did i say this bullshit debate was all about abortion, i was correcting you about your view on abortion.
well, they can't be in the NICU, if they are not BORN.
babies are born, fetuses are not.
FREEAMERICANOW69 2 years ago
My wife is 14 weeks pregnant. In fact this is my 5th child. Every time we went for an ultrasound (over 20X now) the doctors talk about the BABY. NEVER have they EVER said come and see your fetus (that's not even a human baby!) Absurd!
Go on TV and tell the millions of doctors around the world to stop calling a "inhuman" fetus a baby. Try telling the hundreds of millions of women around the world who are currently pregnant (longing to see their baby in an ultrasound) that it is not a real human!
OfficialSonOfRock 2 years ago
look, troll, i'm not getting in a pissing contest with you over your emotional vernacular definition of the word "baby".
of course, your doctor would say to you and your wife "baby" out of respect for you and her but look what he writes in your wife's medical records "fetus".
ask your doctor.
how is a fetus not a human?
bye.
FREEAMERICANOW69 2 years ago
Good to hear from you. Its definitely not my intention to condemn you, or anyone else that has abortions. I am deeply saddened and angry that such an atrocity can happen in a so called "civilized" world.
You answer is good. You have said a lot of things that make sense.
you asked, how is a fetus not a human? It is. And that is my point. We, as a "civilized" culture are killing millions of humans
It doesn't matter what you call it- it is an innocent human life. Who are we to kill innocent lives?
OfficialSonOfRock 2 years ago
it's doesn't matter if it's human...but it's inside another human;s body and that human has civil rights and their own personal autonomy.
western societies would be uncivilized to force those women to stay pregnant against their will and yet have a constitution that supports individual freedom and liberty.
FREEAMERICANOW69 2 years ago
It doesn't matter if its human????
Are you out of your mind? Do you have no regard for another person's life?
Barbaric
Just because your body is someone else's home doesn't mean you have the right to kill.
Just because my son lives in MY HOUSE doesn't give me the right to kill him! Just because a human lives inside of you doesn't give you the right to kill!
That's ruthless, barbaric, and completely uncivilized and will be brought to light and justice in time.
OfficialSonOfRock 2 years ago
YOU fucking pro-life fascist, do you not know where babies come from? did you forget that fetus IS INSIDE SOMEONE ELSE'S BODY and that person has a civil right and to her personal autonomy.
a woman's has a civil right to her body not to be used against her will by anyone, including a fetus. sex doesn't= permission.
me=born, killing me would be illegal.
abortion been legal for 40 years, so go protest at an abortion clinic and watch those women follow their civil rights and ignore ur morality

If you are a Christian the bible CLEARLY teaches that your body is not your own. It belongs to God. Therefore you don't have the right to do "anything you want" with your body... let alone killing someone else's

If you simply do not want to believe just because you hate God, or because you want to justify your ungodly lifestyle, then there is no reason to argue this.
Bottom line: If there is a God, would you WANT to believe? If not, there is no use arguing.
OfficialSonOfRock 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock How can I hate or love something that's figment of your imagination? Your argument is a paradox. LOL "ungodly lifestyle"? That's your opinion, but not at all based on any fact. In other words everything you believe is total bullshit and your a slave to it.
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
You do know there are MANY scientists who completely reject the evolution theory. A simply search on the Internet will yield thousands.
I could tell you of dozens of experiences I had myself which there is NO possible way anyone could deny the existence of a supernatural God.
The ONLY way you can say there is no God is by IGNORANCE for the purpose of protecting your stinking pride.
You have answered my question: You would NOT believe in God because you love yourself, and your immoral behavior.
OfficialSonOfRock 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock A few scientists does not speak for the scientific community as a whole. The fact is it's internationally accepted and a standerd in biology. Trust me, your not special and everything can be proven. I'm not an prideful person. As for a fact I have spent a great deal of my life helping others. I'm a former Fire Fighter and a Paramedic. xaviervonrottie 1 year ago

OfficialSonOfRock 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock If miracles are real why have I not ever seen someone come back from the dead or Grow a leg back after it's gone? Show me this and I will shut up, you have my word. What nations does your God rule over? Oh I forgot ;The Vatican. I will get you that one! Atheism is not a religion. I'm a free thinker!
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
Too many ?s to answer here. But I will start with your first:
You have not ever seen anyone come back from the dead because your head is buried the sand of secular humanism, secular media, ans secular education.
God is raising the dead all over the world. In the ministries of David Hogan, Reinhard Bonnke, TL Osborne, Smith Wigglesworth..etc. there are MANY more.
For example: David Hogan has seen over 400 people raised from the dead.
This is not 2 mention the COUNTLESS miracles I personally saw
OfficialSonOfRock 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock Your comment is nonsense! You say God is raising the dead all over the world, but yet again this is nothing more than a supernatural argument with not bases of reality what so ever. "For example: David Hogan has seen over 400 people raised from the dead. (Zombies?) This is not 2 mention the COUNTLESS miracles I personally saw." Wow! Are you all mental? Or just on some really powerful hallucinogenic drugs?
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
Like I said, if you get your head out of the sand of secular humanism, secular media, and secular education then you will see. There is a LOT more out there than what you read in the newspaper, see on CNN, and are taught by other humanists.
Mental? Hallucinations? If you really look at the evidence with an unbiased point of view you will see the answer to these questions are both, no. Sure, there are flakes out there. They are everywhere, in every circle. But there is a lot of authentic evidence
OfficialSonOfRock 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock Everything has an rational explanation. I will give you an example. 10,000 years ago people had no idea what natural phenomenons where. If there were an earth quake, storm, tornado, etc. It had to be God! Now we know better, because man has spent hundreds years learning and understanding how these things work. We now know a earth quake is not the wrath of God, well most of us anyway. It's a natural movement of the earths tectonic plates.
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
I guess you have never read one of the oldest books in history - Job, which is also a book of the bible. Job explains in detail the weather patterns and natural phenomena. Isaiah explains that the earth is round... THOUSANDS of years before secular scientists figured that out. SOME secular scientists try to explain God away. They will end up just like the scientist of old - humiliated, and WRONG.
There is much more to this world that you think. Get out of your little secular box, and take a look
OfficialSonOfRock 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock Really? Well about this?
Isaiah 11:12
12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH.
Job 38:13
That it might take hold of the ENDS OF THE EARTH, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?
The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises. (From the NIV Bible, Ecclesiastes 1:5)
So Does Isaiah 40:22 really say that Earth is Round?
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
Absolutely.
It is He that sitteth upon the globe of the earth (RHE)
God sits high above the round ball of earth. (MSG)
He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth (NIV)
Globe...Ball... CIrcle... == Round
The expression, "4 corners of the earth" is a figure of speech meaning everywhere... an expression derived from the four points of the compass.
"ends of the earth" an expression meaning "to the farthest parts".
In fact there is a place actually called, "ends of the earth" in China
OfficialSonOfRock 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock
It is quite clear that the above Biblical Verses suggest and claim that the Earth is flat, has Edges, has Four Corners and has Foundations.
No unbiased person would deny the straight forward quotes above. Only the desperate biased Jews and Christians would.
Some desperate Christians as your self have gone as far as presenting Isaiah 40:22 to try to prove that the Bible claims that the earth is round.
Let us look at what the Verse says:
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock
"He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in. (From the NIV Bible, Isaiah 40:22)"
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock
First of all, a circle is not a ball or sphere or an egg-shaped object. A circle is a flat round surface, similar to flat rectangular, or square, or triangular surfaces. So if the Bible claims that the Earth is a circle, then this is still bogus because the earth is obviously not a flat surface.
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock
We have two conditions here:
1- Isaiah 40:22 is claiming that the Earth is a flat circle.
2- Isaiah 40:22 is claiming that the Earth has a circle above it.
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock
If we were to take condition #1, then we are left with a clear and irrefutable contradiction between Isaiah 40:22 and some of the Bible's verses that I mentioned above in the article, because a flat circle doesn't have "four corners", and ironically in either case, we still have a scientifically false claim about the Earth's shape.
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock
IF we were to take condition #2, then it doesn't prove that the Earth is an egg-shaped figure, and Isaiah 40:22 surely becomes irrelevant to this subject.
One thing is for sure clear, and that is Isaiah 40:22 is obviously ambiguous and not clear if we wish to prove from it that the Earth is not flat and is egg-shaped.
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock
If we look at what the entire Bible says (as presented above by all the Verses) about the shape of the Earth as the Roman Catholic Church did in the past, then we would reach the same conclusion they reached, and that is: The Earth is Flat!
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock
Certainly, when Christopher Columbus thought that he could reach India by going west in the Atlantic ocean instead of east as it was traditionally done, the Church in Europe was afraid that he will eventually reach the "end of the earth" and the "Edges of the earth" as the Bible clearly says above, and fall off into the space and die.
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock

OfficialSonOfRock 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock I'm free in my life. Free from mind control, free from dogma, and free from paranoia. I don't need your superstitious beliefs and practices to to feel whole. Charitable behavior is a natural part of the human physiology. It has nothing to do with religion. Self-centered, aggressive, or uncharitable behavior might be part of our repertoire, but it’s good to remember that we also have the potential for greater kindness, love, and respect. It’s up to each of us to cultivate it.
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock
When we consider the ethics and morals of our actions, self-serving or otherwise, we can see that they are abstract rationalizations that we use to justify our own actions or decry the actions of others. Anyone at any given time can interpret any given principle in any way that suits their immediate needs and/or preconceived notions/ideals.
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock
There can be no absolute save the one that there are no absolutes.
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock
Based on this, the idea that all human actions can ultimately seen as self-serving to one degree or another, it stands to reason that this should simply be seen as one more factor of human behavior, not as a ‘bad’ or ‘good’ thing, but similar to our tendency to walk up-right, use complex methods of communication and live in man-made structures.
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock
Rather than aim for the lofty notion that we can somehow separate ourselves from the powerful instinct of self-preservation at all costs, we should be ready to embrace the fact that we not only recognize it but that we can control it. That is what makes us human, our ability to recognize our own actions, that the ability to rationalize them, or excuse them.

u claim to be charitable, kind, and humane.
OfficialSonOfRock 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock You keep on calling me IGNORANT (in all capital letters). But yet you have proved nothing out side of your faith based argument to me. And calling me names by far does your cause zero good! It just proves a point many already believe; most Christians (such as your self) are Self-righteous and arrogant.
Your rebuttal sir.

How big is the universe?

@OfficialSonOfRock It's larger than anything you could ever imagine. No one knows the full size of the universe, scientist leran more about it everyday. As of now it's known to be at least 150 billion light-years in diameter. I'm sure you will disagree with NASA about this and tell me the earth is at the center of the universe and it's only 10,000 years old. Because that's what the Bible says.

xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
Excellent! That is the smartest thing you said so far (at least the first half of your reply)
Let me make it easier, and more specific. How big is the earth compared to the [current] known size of the universe? Approx. figure?
OfficialSonOfRock 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock Lets say that you actually mean the diameter of our visible universe which is a sphere with a radius of about 15 billion light years. Now, a galaxy like our Milky Way has a diameter of about 90,000 light years, so the ratio of these two collections of matter is 15 billion/90,000 = 167,000 to 1.
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock
The radius of the Earth is 6378 kilometers, so it this were the Visible Universe, the Milky Way would have a radius of 6378/37500 = 170 meters. On the same scale, our solar system is even smaller.
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock
The radius of our solar system is about 40 Astronomical Units, and there are 64,200 of these per light year. This means the Milky Way compared to the solar system is 64,200/40 x 90,000 = 144 million times bigger.
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock
Doses that answer your question?
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
I like the way you put it.
So then, in our model of the universe...
The visible universe that we have discovered to date is 25 000 kilometers wide, and our solar system is 1 micron in size. Is this correct?
OfficialSonOfRock 1 year ago
@OfficialSonOfRock I see where your going with this. As of now I don't have time to spend on this back and forth debate of facts vs faith. I unlike some do research rather than pretend I know what I'm talking about. This takes up a lot of time and I just dont have it right now to spend with you. So I wish you the best in your life, and hope you find what ever it is your looking in it. I leave you with good will and peace. I ask the same of you.
xaviervonrottie 1 year ago
You are the one who decided to jump in and challenge me. I am up for the challenge. You don't know who you are talking to. And you don't know what you are talking about.
I am NOT who you think I am.
Haven't seen miracles? Come over to my place. Awesome miracles happen here every day.

In regards to amputees; open your blind, dull eyes (if you can). But as ignorant as your are you wouldn't believe even if it happened before your eyes. After all, you have to have something to justify your putrid lifestyle.

what do you mean," don't make a fool of myself?"
i'm the one telling the truth as it is in reality, any woman in the western world has a civil right to her body to get a legal abortion....you're the one saying that they don;t have a right, so you are lying.
you're the one using the bible in this debate, there is not prove that your god exists and most of the world don't even follow your religion...so why use it?
i can go and do whatever i want as long as it's legal.
another ad hominem from U
FREEAMERICANOW69 2 years ago
You said that a fetus is a fetus as long as it stays in the mothers body.
You said that a fetus is a human
You said that a fetus becomes a baby when it is removed from the mothers body.
If you have any logic at all, by your own words you admit that abortion = killing fetus = removing from mothers body = dead BABY.
You cite a polluted, and VERY corrupt government as your defense? shame on you ma'am!
when you put away your stinking pride and just admit it then you can receive the help you need.
OfficialSonOfRock 2 years ago
when did i say abortion isn't killing a fetus?
wow, strawman, i guess in your logic, taking things out of context, is logic.
and i said babies are born, not removed.
whatever,kid.
nice try.
FREEAMERICANOW69 2 years ago
Ok, suppose I'm stupid.
1. Explain to me the difference between a baby "removed" from the mothers womb, and a baby "born".
2. If a baby is "removed" via cesarean section, in your mind is the baby "born", or is the baby removed.
3. Remember the babies I told you about in the NICU? Are they not babies because they were removed?
OfficialSonOfRock 2 years ago
remove doesn;t mean birth.
a still born baby is removed, a dead fetus is removed but babies are born and with born comes legal rights as a legal person...you already know this.
if the baby is alive, it's BORN...it doesn't matter how it comes into this world.
remove= dead things...talk to your doctor about this.
FREEAMERICANOW69 2 years ago
U make absolutely NO SENSE!
You said: "remove doesn;t mean birth."
babies removed by cesarean or any other operation is not born?
You said, "a still BORN baby is removed"
U said, "a dead fetus is removed but babies are born ...if the baby is alive, it's BORN... remove= dead things...talk to your doctor about this."
Oh! So I guess my daughter wasn't a "BABY" because she was born DEAD. BTW, I did talk to my doctor about this - He said my BABY was born dead.
How disrespectful and IGNORANT U R!
OfficialSonOfRock 2 years ago
it's called birth, that's why they get a birth certificate from the county.
"still-born" sorry, i forgot the "-". which you know that are not born but removed...it's a play on words by the doctors.
stop being so emotional, strawman.
FREEAMERICANOW69 2 years ago
You are talking in circles. I don't really expect you to agree with me. After all, its hard to find a murderer who will admit they are guilty.
Difference: Still born babies are given "human" status therefore they can be legally named, and a proper funeral service can be conducted.
Abortion = brutal slaying not giving the baby "human" status therefore they are not named, and denied even a proper funeral. Even terrorists allow their victims dead bodies to treated better and given proper funerals.
OfficialSonOfRock 2 years ago
how am i talking in circles?
so are you calling me a murder, fascist-strawman?
when did i say a still-born wasn't human? if you choose to give it a name and proper funeral...dead sill-born babies and fetuses, don't get a legal name...because they wasn't born.
it's not a baby, but a fetus. why would you give medical waste a funeral?
the dead terrorist thing was is just a fallacy.
FREEAMERICANOW69 2 years ago
OfficialSonOfRock 2 years ago
when did i say it wasn't human?
killing a fetus is killing a human...your point is?
killing a death row inmate is still killing a human.
killing a brain dead person is still killing a human.
both of those accounts are legal murder too just like abortion....are those things wrong? it's depends on your morality.
but forcing a woman to stay pregnant against her will, her civil rights, and her personal autonomy makes you a fascist. but yet, you are talking about respect and dignity?
FREEAMERICANOW69 2 years ago
if i'm a murderer you should call the police on me.
FREEAMERICANOW69 2 years ago
I have to give you credit. You are light years ahead of most pro "choice" proponents.
You admit:
1. a fetus is a human
2. killing a fetus is killing a human
3. abortion is legal murder.
Hats off to you ma'am.
however, an abortion cannot be compared to a death row inmate. A fetus is absolutely innocent and has done nothing deserving death.
Also, an abortion cannot be compared to a brain dead person. An unborn human is not in pain and torment. He or she has a hope and a future in this world.
OfficialSonOfRock 2 years ago
yes, death is death. so stop being melodramatic.
it just your own morality of it, like your opinion of the word " innocent" how can a brain-dead embryo be innocent? it hasn't developed to any yet, it's just a clump of skin and cartilage.
and it doesn't have do anything, it's unwanted inside a woman's body...you do you keep forgetting the woman who is carrying it inside her body and her feelings in the matter?
i guess, in your logic, a brain-dead person is innocent too.
or the next hitler
FREEAMERICANOW69 2 years ago
you are in denial.
a fetus is a human.. not a "clump of skin and cartilage"
take a 18 week-old "fetus" for example:
If you were to take an 18 week old abortion victim, and put it directly beside an 18 week old premature baby they are EXACTLY the SAME THING. They are EXACTLY the same size, have EXACTLY the same features, and act EXACTLY the same way.
calling an innocently slaughtered dead baby a piece of "medical waste" is barbaric, cruel, ignorant, and sadistic... talk about HITLER!
OfficialSonOfRock 2 years ago
dumbass, when does the fetus' cartilage develop into bones?
until then it's just cartilage and skin.
but one is born and soon will die because a 18- week baby can't live outside the womb... so it doesn't matter.
calling an innocently slaughtered dead baby a piece of "medical waste" is barbaric, cruel, ignorant, and sadistic... talk about HITLER!
your opinion, it's dead and medical waste. you can't give it a funeral.
FREEAMERICANOW69 2 years ago
You have called me a:
OfficialSonOfRock 2 years ago
i called you a troll because when we debate about abortion, you go off-topic and use straws.
fascist= you are expressing disapproval of the fact that they have extreme views on something, and do not tolerate alternative views. google.
you can't be a fascist to one that has no rights, duh! unborn= no rights.
but you are a fascist, which like hitler talking away citizens' civil rights to their bodies.
dumb, yes because you know i'm legally right but you inject ad homenins and strawman tactics.

all you have in your favor is a VERY corrupt judicial system that WILL change

You seem so confident that fetuses have no rights. Even the King of Abortion, Obama, said he DOESN'T KNOW when a human is entitled to human rights. This holocaust WILL end soon. mark my word

its time these mega-churches and money gilded evangelicals stopped hoarding money for their own purposes and started distributing ALL their wealth to the needy, not just 10 percent. jesus said, to follow him, give up everything you own and give it to the poor. while this might be extreme in modern times, it should be followed in spirit. yet most on the 'religious right' react violently to government sponsered safety nets for the old and poor and disabled.
JHoodtheGood 3 years ago
you give me faith that christianity can be reconciled with its mantras (the bible).
the divide between what the christian right preaches and what jesus preached has become greater and greater. i tire of christians who are taught to cite the old testament to justify the violence and intolerance of their political stance, whilst jesus clearly abolished the old law in favor of love, charity, and tolerance.

on the military,
Romans 13 says that leaders do not bear the sword in vain, that is, a presumably righteous leader has a God-given authority to oppose evil nations and evil factions within his own nation, and by force if necessary.
Jesus said to pray for your enemies, etc, but this is matter of personal relationships, not national security.
Pacifism has never solved anything.

Pastor Henry Bechthold

The problem isn't "corrupt Christians," the problem is "corrupt atheists." No person of at least average intelligence can do a comprehensive study of church history or the bible, and still believe in god. The church leaders are atheists of the immoral variety who, rather than teach christians the errors of their ways, use their knowledge and power to deceive, manipulate, and extort money from the ignorant, "true-believers."

Aditinggi 3 years ago
As usual, a skeptic tries to use Bible verses completely out of context:
"But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother [a fellow believer] will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca,' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says [to a fellow believer], 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell."
Skeptics are not my brothers (fellow believers). They are all fools and that includes you. Fool. Fool. Fool. Fool. Fool. Fool. Fool.
JMcH 3 years ago
Jesus did not say, Anyone who says to his brother, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell... He said, Anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell. You might think I'm a fool, but at least you love me (Matthew 5:44).
Aditinggi 3 years ago
You continue to take the verse out of context, fool. The verse you are quoting out of context, fool, is about calling fellow believers "fools," not fools like you. It is not a stand-alone verse as you are foolishly trying to portray it, fool. It goes along with the previous verses, fool.
And yes, fool, I love you as much as Jesus loved the people he called "fools" in Matthew 23 and Luke 11. Sometimes love requires hard truths, fool. You probably wouldn't know that, however, fool that you are.
