Border guards have a hard life.
When they do their jobs, (protect our borders) the government prosecutes them. I was replying to someone else, not Bob. I left a comment on here yesterday informing Bob that BP agents don't like to be called "Border Guards" because it sounds like we're East Germans (or whatever). The person I responded to informed me that that was wrong because there is a huge difference between us and the guards on the East German border during the Cold War. I was simply trying to let him know that we understand that, but, although it's a common mistake, we still don't like it.

FYI, although the Border Patrol is not entirely made up of "ethnics," a large percentage is made up of Hispanics. The main reason for this is that all BP agents must learn to speak/write Spanish whilst attending the FLETC. This requirement naturally attracts Americans who already speak/write Spanish. So, again, the BP has a much larger percentage of "ethnics" when compared w/ other Federal Law Enforcement Agencies.
