  • Omg look how crowded those waters and beaches are!! That looks worse than the popular beaches today!! Ill go down to the warm waters in Miami instead :)

  • It appears civilized?

  • 1:42 - what 25% of the population of NYC now looks like.

  • I feel like it could be really awesome if this footage was set to Bibio's - Oval Emerald Vertigo

  • If you go there today, Coney Island has been partly turned into a cesspool full of Obnoxious ghetto people and alot of Ignorant troublemakers, even alot of the folks operating the rides and games have disgusting attitudes! There's VERY little "charm" left unfortunately.

  • those pinheads were still alive in the '70s. Saw one of them at Gt. Barrington Race Track, 1978.

  • way cool! Yiddish was so big in nyc at one time.

  • great tune,thanks for this,cheers!

  • The girls singing different languages. I hear english for shore, and german and jiddisch... am i right?

  • The Barry Sisters sing it in Yiddish and

    English. Yiddish includes many words

in hebrew, and slight variations of

    german words.

  • geil .... huh huh huh rofl !!

    Thanks!

  • HEY AYYAYYAY this song my nana used to sing... last time i went to Coney, it looked well sadly not like the video people there so many noodges. Oh well love the video none the less

  • I'm glad this was posted, I tried to tell others that there were songs from the 40's recorded in a bi- linguel style, I heard a similar type of song that my father had on a 38, it was Italian/ English from the late 30's, I do not recall the song or the artist though. This is very nice to see and hear, love it!

    Marco

  • and now people turned it into a shithole, cant wait till they blow the fuckin lunapark skyhigh. piss infested shithole.

  • i am studying of brooklyn, new ork and this is good for my project

  • the warrrior live in the coney island! coney island is their ttory even in the real days

  • The famed amusement park by the shore is still going strong, despite attempts to change its character. When i was a kid,my father would take me on the rides on the last day before summer vacation. The carousel, Wonder Wheel, and The famous Cyclone, which I never rode again since my father took me on it the first time. Nathan's franks are pure heaven, and I still go there occasionally for lunch.People who visit here wonder what the fuss is about, it just has a real New York feel and mystique.

  • what the hell happend to coney island??

  • @elmuneco12 The Projects...

  • "S'iz a mechaiah," indeed, to hear the Barry Sisters sing a tribute to Coney Island! (The East Coast - how I'll always miss it...)

  • What's up with the microcephalics? I recognize the tiny girl from Todd Browning's first film. She's great!

  • her and the other one fro freaks was Zip and Pin OR Jenny and Elvira Snow, I love them.

  • Amazing it looks just the same....

  • Thank you for a wonderful trip to Coney. Almost as good as the Sea Beach line to Stillwell Avenue and the smell of hot dogs and popcorn and we ran down the ramp to Surf Avenue. My mom gave me a sandwich and 10 cents for a day and a round trip ride to the beach from Williamsburg. You can't really go home again but we can try.

  • i remember1941 we graduated from ps226.. we had a prom in the local jewish temple..chaperoned by the local rabbi and priest..then we all hopped on the Sea beach train to Coney island for Nathan's hot dogs..It was Judy, myself (Harriet) and another girl..a boy named willie and another named George..it was safe to go all over the city at that time

  • the video was really very enjoyable.

being born in brooklyn i cAN really relate

    to it
