  • this is the best song for up in cummin youngins... i feel the soul is also a window to music...my fav..part would be....he who makes kittens, also puts snakes in the grass, he's a lover of life, but a player of pawns...

  • One person is plastic.

  • He didn't play this in Tulsa.

  • WILD PICTURE~! This is the definition of ostentatious--just look at that SUPER SWING!!!

  • @SPEAKTRUTHINLOVE777 how are they vulgar or pretentious?

  • @SPEAKTRUTHINLOVE777 Ostentatious? Just try to imitate it, and you'll break you neck!

  • I saw them in 75 at the scope in Virginia. Best concert ever

  • Genius drumming. Genius. The high hat work alone smokes all modern day drummers. Barrie was a pioneer and is the greatest drummer ever. Modern day drummers rip him off on a consistent basis.

  • Good stuff!

  • my first favorite song when i was knee high to a grasshoppers ass.

  • I was 8 years old in '74 when I first heard this song and to this day, I still have an appreciation for it. A great classic. Who ever thought that a flute would be so successful in a rock band?

  • @klr1966 me too kir...we're the same age. I owned the 45 record when it came out! it is absolutely still one of my favorites...I can't hear it enough!!

  • what's with Ian wearing a thong?

  • that's a codpiece-old olde English theatrical attire

  • @captainkane1984 - It's actually called a "cod piece." It was worn commonly in the middle ages.

  • @captainkane1984 He's wearing a cod piece.

  • Thanks a lot mate for sharing this. Awesome! WOW Master Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull

  • Pop Music has devolved miserably. Tull's a glowing example of the originality and depth that flourished in the 60's and 70's when a real cultural revolution was brewing.

You can sell a million now, without knowing how to play an instrument or even be much of a singer. It's not about being stuck in the past - it's about being smart and discriminating enough to appreciate music that's about something besides getting paid and laid.

Tull, Beatles, Led Zep - they weren't just posers...for real.

  • i agree

in my opnion the best 5 rock bands ever are Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Queen, The Beatles, and Jethro Tull

  • @hibityhabity Take Queen out and add Black Sabbath

  • @todzilla73 didnt say metal. but yeah sabbath is great. specially old tracks like "the wizard"

  • @hibityhabity take out queen and replace it with genesis and take out ac/dc and add pink floyd lol

  • @mikemacjunkie1 why "lol"? pink is good but not in my top 10. dont care for genesis.

  • @pyannaguy I couldn't agree more.

  • @pyannaguy oh go away...the 60's and 70's had a lot of crap and disposable garbage and you have absolutely no idea about today's music beyond what you hear on commercial radio...another OLD FART commenting on a world that has past him by...I love how all you Boomers were gonna change things and now youre as backwards and bitter as your own parents were...putting down the present and the young generation-what an original concept!! It never ends...sad

  • @sixsixxsixxxx I'm not putting down a generation - YOU are. I was talking about Popular music. How would you know what I have 'absolutely no idea' about? I didn't say ALL the music was pure brilliance or that ALL the music now is crap. Speaking of backwards and bitter: Read YOUR snotty comments, again - more closely like you DIDN'T read mine.

The world has "past" me by? Learn how to spell before you characterize people you don't even know. Now, go do your homework.

  • @pyannaguy damn right brother! i was born in '72,not that old, but one thing is for sure, artists like you mentioned, plus a whole lot others, the who, cocker, three dog ngt.,floyd, the list goes on and on, we will never hear anything that comes close to that again.i have 2 bros. 3 yrs. either side of my age and 3 more sibs. born '56-'58, and i grew up w/ their tunes.first song i knew, dom mclain amer. pie @ 3-5yrs. old.throw willie/ waylon, and cash in there too

  • @pyannaguy there's still good music out there in the world, but you just won't find it on the radio!

  • sounds a bit too high for Ian's repitoir but that could just be the way the recording has come out. But still amazing stuff.

  • Was expecting a video, still a kickass song though.

  • Is it so frightening to have me at your shoulder?

  • near the end are some great vocals from ian

  • I aggreee. Thanks for watching!!

There is more to come! underwraps2

  • Thank you Nick.

You get an A+ for that homework assignment I gave you.

With all your LIVE bootleg stuff from '74 and '75... you will be making some GREAT posts.

  • Wow, this is pretty rare. Cool video.
