OK, the hd is excellent but don't get hung up on it. The words are the important bit!

I image the Irish must regret being tied into the Euro, over which they have little or no control. Is this another nail in the EU coffin? IMHO wouldn't touch a Dell. Have my IT stuff built to order by a small local firm. For cash.

I wish I could do the same - "corporate policy". from our IT staff in California. Oh well :( When I get the new one no doubt I will need to install the O/S and rip out the remote monitoring s/w they install (Anti-virus... monitors everything I do and reports back to US...)

I agree about the HD; want to give as much as I can to get the vids out, but making good timely videos is also important. I'll find a balance!

Well I think it will be far better than the mess we have! I'm half Scottish (hence the propensity for Scotch) and yet, I'll be damned if I'll let a to**er like Mr. G. Brown dictate what I can or cannot do!

DVD rentals is down to bitorrent really. Why pay when you can d/l an endless election of videos for nothing?

Dell in Ireland is a HUGE loss. I am not happy about it at all! I always enjoyed dealing with the staff at Dell in Ireland; they really cared. Now it will be some nameless face in Poland :(

The bigger story about the secondary jobs is a big problem. Back to a potatoe famine? I really hope not :( This will get serious.

Yippee we will all be millionaires, last I heard $1,000,000 Zimbabwe dollars will buy you a Chupa Chup lolly pop but that was a while ago.

On a recent news bulletin I saw a $10,000,000 dollar note on a rubbish tip as people looked for scraps of food.

At the end of the Weimar inflation the first industry to get going was paper recycling as people gathered up the old notes and sold them to paper merchants.

So how much will a loaf of bread cost in two years time three apples and a cake of soap.

I met a women who went through the Weimar disaster, by the end they were only printing the notes on one side.

She said that was money everywhere you could go out in the street and bundle up a ruck sack full and the shop keepers would just weigh it.

You might get a few slices of bread or a couple of tea spoons of coffee. She had a picture of her toilet wall papered with money,

It was useful for stuffing you shirt to keep out the cold. The main shortage was paper.

Scary stuff indeed.

The images are scary enough! The recent events in Zimbabwe and Argentina are a reminder to all the Keynesian economists that fiat money doesn't work, and never has. Pity the economists never studied history as well!

The problem in Zimbabwe now is around paying for the paper to print the notes now!

Zimbabwe can be and is isolated from the rest of the world. They have to endure their situation from within.Expanding their currency is only met by their own assets.

Certainly not what is happening currently with the western world: currency expansion is met by non western assets which are counterbalancing the currency issuance.

Again Zimbabwe is unable

The situation is very different from the 1930s in this regard. In the 1930s, the economy was not global and the consequences had to be faced innerly. Currently, the situation is very different as exporting mess is much easier and done.

As long as the peons are not dead, the summit will not collapse.

The problem I foresee is the closing down of East-West trading partners; perhaps on purpose or inadvertently through restrictive agreements or even a rush out of USD. THEN we may have the potential for a Zimbabwe situation.

Even with that, I dont see how. China (and I suppose all asian countries who could afford) have taken measures so that expansion of currency from a foreign power does not absorb their vital economical interests (it is absorbing chinese labour though)

Currently, the wealth that is absorbed and already considered as "bought" by the western world comes from Africa, Middle East and maybe South America. I shall see both the West and East saving themselves on the back of the parts of the world.

Hi Mike, thr Hi def was quite impressing, however, if it's going to cut short your time, that is a major drawback. As a subscriber, i enjoy your content, and the quality of your older videos was quite good.

I am not complaining, just thought i'd give some constructive criticism. It just seems to me that better picture should not translate into shorter vids. I prefer the quality of your presentation over the actual video image. Thanks, Cheers!

Yeah, I know! I'm thinking the 'one story' reports would be really good in HD; the rest will be 'higher quality' (now that I've figured out how to do that with this camera!).

The problem seems to be the 'regular' quality videos are REALLY blocky woth an HD recording :(
