Hello, I am the builder of the igloo in the movie. The key to the blocks sticking together, even when they are nearly horizontal, is the SPIRAL. Note that on Dec 21 and Dec 22, I converted from concentric rings to the spiral form.
Why the spiral?
Because you always have a "neighbor" block that provides friction & something to lean against. If you build with concentric rings, the first block on a new ring is just hanging there all by itself, and cannot support itself.
Spiral...why didn't I think of that. Nice work.

How did they stay stuck on sideways? I didn't see them supported in any way.
