  • @twilliamsca I know, genetics play a part however, who said life was fair??, we ae atracted to fit people, and even whit bad genetics you can still look fit unless you have tyroid problems. but 99.9% of the people can have a very nice body in just half a decade whit just exercise and a high-protein diet, do not trust those guys who gain more than 20 lbs of muscle in a year, those guys use steroids

  • you don't have to be size 0,1,2,3 or 4 but being over a size around 22 is pushing it as well. I think the most beautiful women are between 8-16. women in this area should be represented more. to tell you the truth both extremes look gross to me.

  • In some ways I envy these women because they can eat whatever they want and not have to give a damn what anybody thinks should they get big. I was never that bold. I''d be too afraid of getting fat and then not being able to accept that. Yet these women are what most would consider fat or big and yet they are in a beauty contest and appear to be perfectly happy with themselves.

  • The entry criteria says you have to be a size 20. Are you trying to tell me someone who is a size 20 is a healthy weight? My friend is a size 14 and classed as obese - most people don't realise they are.

  • Size 20 can be a healthy weight. There are people have been able to survive as a size 20 to 26 for about 80 years.

  • Those people will be anomalies- obesity brings so many health defects and social problems. And unless you are a body builder (which these people aren't) you can't be healthy and size 20.

I disagree with your comment there are plus size women in this world who take very good care of themselves and they are plus size. Just becasue you are not a size 0 does not mean you are unheathyl. No body says anything about supermodels who are sickly underweight. Good health is good health at any size not just small. These women are beatiful and as long as their health is fine, then good for them.

  • Actress Halle berry is a diabetic. Actor Andy Hallett died from congestive heart failure. Neither is/was overweight at all. Two of the dieases that most associate with fat people. I have a prodominantly fat family. None has died before 70 and 90% have no health issues or had any when they passed. My dad was a diabetic but he was diagnosed when he was thin, and he gained weight with age before his passing. Body size is just that.

  • I find it interesting that skinny models are attacked as setting a dangerous example and encouraging anorexia and bulimia, yet no one thinks to point out models promoting obesity as encouraging an unhealthy lifestyle and/or body weight. Far more women die of obesity than anorexia, yet the "it's okay to be fat" agenda is being pushed harder than ever.

  • First, if you count every women that is at least ten pounds overweight over the Hollywood standard for being thin, then so-called obesity are attacked a thousand times more that.

    Secondly, obesity is not simply being fat. It is bad eating habits combined with lack of exercise. Ironically fat people are not fat because they overeat, and are lazy. Thin people can die from obesity as well fat people, and fat people can live long lives if they eat right and exercise .

  • Being "fat" "overweight" or "obese" are not ideal conditions in any instance. Unless you want to play word games, "plus sized" are what we consider "fat" and/or "obese" and even though someone in that category may be "more healthy" than a person of the same height/weight, it's still not as "healthy" a place to be. If overly skinny models present an unhealthy body image, than so do overweight models. Neither should be praised, encouraged or emulated.

  • I agree. Being overweight can be unhealthy but so can being under weight. I think if people can find a happy medium and find where their body needs to be, then they'll be okay. As long as you eat right and exercise then your body will be where it needs to be. Wheather you're a size 4 or 14. Everyone is different. Everyone is built different. Even though I think some of the girls in this video are a little too big.

  • I think it's wonderful and healthy that the women view themselves as attractive. Just because you have pounds on doesn't make you less alluring.

    However, I have to question promoting being overweight/obese only for health RISK increases. Having extra weight also limits you in your day-to-day activities, not to mention skyrocketing the chance of type 2 diabetes.

    Bravo to these women for being proud and comfortable, because the rail-thin anorexic women are not good role models for younger girls.

    Surprisingly, despite the increasing number for obese people, the number of people falling victim to obesity related problem is decreasing. And, the average age of American have been rising every year for the last decade, without slowing down.

    Ironically, obese people are not dying off as quickly, or getting ill as frequently as they came they do.

    If you read the article the studies show that even obesity-related deaths are down at least 5%.

    And, finally depending on you size, anything a thin can do, so can a fat person, except get the respect of the general population.

Corsets often are worn only to enhance a woman's natural curves and to promote their assets to the best advantage, whether a thin woman wears one or a fuller figured woman wears one. Part of the main reason, besides the theme, was because corsets often make a woman feel sexier, just as sensual fabrics and provocative undergarments make a woman feel sexier.

  • What's sad is that it's a contest made to promote bigger women yet they put them in corsets and try to make their figures look like something they are not.   • No, beauty is not a specific size, but it has a standard. It's called HEALTHY. And I'm sorry but obesity is a BMI of 25%+, which is a line more easily crossed than you might think. A lot of these women looked well over that. People like good-looking people, that's how life is. I like healthy looking people so let's stop lying to ourself and hit the gym.

  • Fat is not a determining factor in a person's overall health, and BMI is a crock of BS that's not used in professional medicine anymore. If the fat person is eating nothing but McDonald's, yeah, I wouldn't have much sympathy for them. But these women don't look like the type to do that.     They may look obese by modeling standards, yeah, but by a smart person's standards, no way are these women on the verge of death.

  • BMI is not shit, it's been replaced in medecine by an even LESS forgiving formula that is based mostly on mid-section fat. and BMI, if done with proper equipment, not just a chart, is still a good indicator to calculate fat %. you don't know much for someon who calls other misinformed. i'm dating a personal trainer and i am very much into fitness and nutrition myself, i know what i'm saying.

  • Well, how are YOU so sure that what they're eating is causing this HORRIBLE health deterioration? Yeah, they sure look like they're suffering. How do you know what quantities they eat? Oh, you believe that the root to all fatness is gluttony. I could tell you that genetics, thyroid, medication, these all contribute to becoming overweight, and some people don't catch it until it's too late, but my experience is that most people dismiss those reason as nonsense.

  • Most fatness is caused by bad habits. The other causes you mentionned are exceptions. Genetics, thyroid and otoher natural causes were their before we became so heavily industrialized, and lazy. Truth is, obesity is a problem of way of life. Stop finding excuses where there are none.

  • As for your comment about their health, by your 'smart standards', they might not be dying but i'd be curious to see them go through a medical check. you only have to be slightly overweight to start having hearth problems, diabetes, cholesterol, cardio-vascular limits, hypertension...etc. they're not dying but their quality of life might plummet as they grow older. weight problems have not surpass cigarettes in healthcare cost for nothing. you don't know shit.

People make their own choices, and you don't have to like it, but calling them sub-human is a bit extreme, wouldn't you say? There's something you're forgetting here, it's that the "peer pressure" can lead to harassment, which can lead to desperation.
