suppressors really shine when your not aware of them being fired at a distance to where a shot is masked.Might sound like something but not a gun shot. Eventually the distance to hearing nothing is much closer.
Honestly, I don't know why anyone would choose a 9mm for a suppressed weapon. The .45 ACP round is perfect for being suppressed, since it's naturally subsonic (hence why there's no mini sonic boom after each shot- aka no loud "crack" after the report), and it's a lot more powerful than 9mm.
Thanks for the upload. I was hoping I would find a video that could show the difference between a weapon with a suppressor and one without. Hollywood tends to make the suppressor seem like it makes the weapon totally quiet. All other suppressor videos I found didn't have a non suppressed weapon for comparison. This shows how the suppressor does reduce noise, but nowhere near as much as shown in the movies.
Sucks that it's so hard to tell how loud things really are in a video. The only hint at the difference is that the 'echo' from the unsuppressed pistol carries over from shot to shot (you can still hear it in the background when you fire the next round).
@jcims I'm shooting the suppressed 45 and thats why I paused so long between shots, I waited until I couldn't hear the 'echo' any longer (remember I'm wearing hearing protection). I shot the steel plate at the end because the noise of that is louder than the suppressed 45 being fired. I know it doesn't compare to hearing it in person but you can tell its quieter. Plus the fact that you don't have the blast 'echoing' or resonating makes it sound a lot quieter.
Guy with the unsurpressed got pretty good control

Were you using regular ball 230gr ammo, or handloads? (subsonic). Or just regular 230gr rated at 850fps? Thanks!

@em613 I'm bad at checking comments so sorry about the delay, but, the ammo is factory loaded Federal American Eagle 230 gr FMJ.

Good stuff!
