I became a convert of the GTi last year with a mk3 from a mk2 Driver and having been tear ended my GTi has been written off so I bought a mk3 Aventgarde ragtop. Can I still say I'm in club GTi?? :)
Brilliant cars the whole lot of them but my favourite has to be the mk3 i owned a 96 TDi golf and it was magic never once broke down in the 70k miles i owned it. A great reliable machine, I now own a 02 mk4 TDi and its a great car too but just doesnt have that mean golf look about it but its still a stunning car. Just hope it goes as well as the mk3 went.
VR6 MK3's are nice i agree. Nearly bought a anniversary mk3 mint condition but ended up with a mk4 in the end which i love but it aint an Oak green mk2!
Oh NO!! Mk4's are the bitch of the bunch,,,,Mk3's GTI is really poor too but they really lost their way with the MK4 Golf, unless you get an R32 your getting nowhere fast. In fact I much prefer the Bora to the Mk4 Golf.
I know but i like the look of them and managed to find one with cruise control and everything, needed something bigger for new family members. Montreal 2 alloy wheels are my fave aswell.
I have a Bora 2.0 to run about with at the moment while my VR6 is being restored to its former glory. Its only a 2.0 8v but has alot of poke, pleasantly surprised.
I owned a GTI IV for four years, despite some faulty parts and expensive insurance it was more then worth it. The song when the guy re-enters the bar is Kajagoogoo Too Shy, VERY 80's.

just got a gttdi, driven a mk2 gti for the past 3 years. It would be easier parting company with one (or more) of my balls than the mark 2.
What an amazing car. In 3 years and 40k it never once broke down.
Hope the IV gttdi is as good!

I have a MK3 Vr6, my favorite. I don't like Mk4's, or the new ones.

I got a mk1 GTI and a mk3. Paid £500 for the mk3, its mint and with 190,000 it still pulls like a train. Golfs are gonna out live us all ;)

i own a mk3 and now i also have mk4. love both of them. my dad used to own a mk2 gti. its a family thing i guess.

mk2 has incorrect 16v wheels with missing centre caps. on a b reg prob should have pirelli p wheels, later teardrop ( e reg on ) signed , golf bore!
