  • Will Allen! you are such a beautiful Spirit, Mind, and Soul, Mother Earth must be pleased. I'm so loving the knowledge. My Family can't wait to start our journey to Triple P Green Living. Thank You for sharing.

  • And for those who speak in resentful and critical ways? Your words belie your claims. If you were truly as benign and well-intentioned in your own thinking and ways, you would not express yourself thus. You would recognize unconsciousness - even in yourself/yourselves.

  • Will always leaves me smiling - and in awe. How many dedicated fellow participants he must have. I think that this earthly world will know a profound loss when he departs it - yet, how his work and vision will continue. Thank you wonderful sir!

  • I bet a big part of your success is the tax payers..

  • This looks cool but I bet it's costing tax payers out the ying yang!!!!!!!!!

  • how do you remove the larger waste particles from the 5000 gallon tilapia tanks? or do the fish simply eat it??

  • When do you put tilapia fry in the grow out tanks? How and when do you strip the females?

  • how do i know more. love it

  • Definitely a must to try large scale Farming.

  • Watched all 3 of your videos. Amazing is all I can say. You guys/girls rock.

  • The extensive use of Poly Vinyl Chloride in these systems can hardly be called "sustainable" or "organic" by any reasonable measure! However, over-all, I find this work both inspiring and informative. Please keep doing what you are doing, but try to remember that plastic production from mineral oil is PART OF THE PROBLEM and not the solution!

  • @superfishle What's the best PVC alternative out there?

  • It must take a ton of money. How are you doing since the passage of that ridiculous bill Senate 510....Also..how much would it take to start one of these...a coop?

  • Really cool... I liked how they are taking stuff out of the waste stream and using that potentially wasted material and adding value to it for re-use!! Inspirational!

  • growing sprouts to feed kids!!!!!!!!!!! tilapia in wisconsin!!!!!!!! gas heaters to heat your greenhouses. sounds like a typical non profit not to mention i went there with a haitian pastor and they made me pay 30 dollars for us to take the tour what a joke.... they get money from the goverment and then we have to pay to see what there doing... • I think its great also.. but take a shovel and some plants and fish and water and do this in russia where it is cold and this will not be sustainable... sorry it just wont work for feeding the masses!!! if this was the tropics it would work!!!! or in wisconsin with goverment money...

  • @nodlan

And you have all the answers? they are making a huge effort and teaching the children to think about more than Jersey shore. Light'n up Francis.

  • is growing power subsidized by the government?

  • @jc3mer Really?

Watch the DVD FoodInc, that is factory farming.

This will be the future, a complete growing ecosystem in harmonic balance all without pesticides.

    BBO

  • this is the future

  • Thank you for sharing such wonderful blessings to the world. Will God bless you in all you do. I love food too! And this is yhe way of the future of organic growing...Big Fan of growing powers........

  • how did you build the large tank for fish? thanks for sharing..

  • Yes! What a great system Growing Power has set up. Definitely worth MacArthur's five-year, no-strings-attached $500k award in my humble opinion. Congrats to Will and the team!

  • What an amazing thing to be involved with. I hope they just keep growing and growing. They clearly have a great amount if integrity and belief in what they're doing. Inspiring!

  • Will Allen is a GENIUS!!!!

  • similar to the ones my bio/chem class is doing, but MUCH larger

  • wow they have started a lot of urban farms. i wonder how much human effort goes into all the food systems they mentioned, and is human effort decreasing as more efficient methods develop?

  • just one pump, what size is the pump "gph"

  • PVC not PCV pipe..

  • This is fantastic. Can you tell me where you buy your talapia fingerlings? I want to do this at my urban farm as well. Thanks!

  • Growing power, iz a good example of what iz possible.. Peace an LUV WILL. We luv u MAN !!!

  • Hey Rikiru I'm the guy who did the screen protector and the durability is good since then I've upgaded to the Power Support Anti-Glare and the Invisable Sheildbut for now keep what you have thanks for watchin!

  • this is so cool! Will Allen is my hero.

  • There is an alligator/tilapia farm in Southwestern Co. fed by hot springs, fascinating stuff! I would love to try aquaponics, but lack the room and resources to embark on said journey just yet. I would look into Black Soldier fly larvae if I were you! There are extremely high in protein and more efficient com posters than worms. And may not contain parasites but don't quote me on that. You can freeze them and use them as feed for fish and poultry! Cool stuff.

  • Good advice. Duckweed is also an amazing source of feed for fish & poultry..and it helps to filter out the fish poop from the water.

  • INSPIRING!!

  • I love this and am trying to do the same thing someday.

  • This is so neat!!! I love co-ops and I so want to build a U-farm with small meat and fish. I am practicing in the backyard now, and reading all I can on the subject. Thank you for this video!!!

  • that sounds amazing! thanks for the comment - we love Growing Power and are very lucky that they call Milwaukee their home. good luck with your farm! -diana at outpost

  • Thank you so much for sharing this with us! It really looks top notch!

  • where is your pelletised food sourced? some of those companies put lots of filler in the food pellets

  • Awesome vid! I have a greenhouse growing veggies and I would like to add a fish pond. Where do you get your fish stock?

    Congratulations again!

  • integrated organic farming. absolutely astonishing! 5 star farm!

  • Hello Mr. Allen,

I really appreciate the information that you share with the world. I believe it contributes a lot to the start of a new world order of sustainability. i had one question pertaining to the water quality used in the aquaponics system. Is the water directly from a well or is the water treated for clorine prior to? If so what procedure is used?

    Thanks,

    Norman

  • Wow.

I see from your website you host community meals too. Do you ever grill tilapia or are the meals vegetarian affairs? I'll be glad to come clean a couple dozen fish and fry them with you. We'll need corn meal and flour and salt and pepper and personally, I like some Tabasco on the table.

    Or I'll peel potatoes.

  • how do we start non-profits organizations in our community to have gardens like will allen did? Anyone know?

  • aloha, you guys are the greatest, thanks for sharing, very inspirational. You need to write a comprehensive book. Fish, salad, and recycling waste, eggs, happy happy happy.

  • I agree! When Will retires perhaps he'll write a book - "from basket ball court to community gardens, how I changed the world"

thanks for the comment! we think Growing Power is one of the greatest things about Milwaukee, WI - as well as the co-op!

thanks for the comment, diana at Outpost

  • bravo bravo ! :)

  • how small could this system be and still be sustainable?

  • Gracias!

  • Love all three of your growing power videos! I'm getting into hydroponics. My goal is to grow as much food as possible myself therefore being food-self-sufficient. I would love for every person to be food-sufficient. Again, love your videos because newbies to growing power like me learn so much from experienced people like you.
