This is a awesome looking bow, But i'll stick with the compoundbow! Plus i have never seen any oneida bow's in the pro shop's or at any archery function's like 3-d shoot's or target shoot's and i have been too many.
Because they are not advertised enough, Mathews is way over rated due to the fact they are advertised to death,if anyone knocking these bows actually handled one and did their homework on them the you would know how good they are,I own 2 as well as a few other brands and my Oneidas beats them all hands down.
@bluelagoon10023 ..Top shooters are sponsored by deep pockets..many of the top bow makers don't give away their products like Hoyt does.. Give someone a shirt with a name on it and they are King Kong...go to the Las Vegas shoot and you will see what I am talking about. Hoyt buys wins. Put enough bows in as many hands as possible and a win is almost inevitable.
phishwise either your age or ingnorance is showing. With proper care and maintnance which is common sense these bows will out shoot and out last any bow on the market, the strings must be waxed after 50 shots power cabels and moduals replaced when neccessary and kept in tune,I keep hearing about how oneidas have "too many" moving parts, this is flat out bullshit
You either love these bows or hate them! I am a fan of oneida and own two of them. I also have owned many wheel bows and not one of them compared. I have found most people that dont like them are afraid of them because they look sorta complicated.... Not so once you learn how they work and how to properly tune them. You dont even need a bow pess to completely disassemble them! These bows began the whole opposing limb design that every bow manufacturer is now using. Shoot one before you judge!
i disagree i shoot a 19 year old bear first strike and a 25 year old darton s&g6000 and i can shoot a 6 arrow group within an inch and half at 60 yards. ones 55# @ 30 and the other is 70# @ 31
first of all,I do know about oneida bows and have been working on them for a long time secondly for those who need it oneida supplies a C.D. that shows you how to tear the whole bow down as well as reassemble it and its quite simple,so get some info before claiming to know what youre talking about.
get the fuck out of here all the compounets to onida bows you dont know where they start of begin the less moving parts less vibration and such as white tails that can flinch out with a bow shooting 340 fps what do you think they are going to do with them loud ass recurve lookin cocksuckers
Im getting a real kick out of some of these comments....lol ,what makes Mathews so great? easy.....they are advertised to death with a lot of hype thrown in,if thats what you want by all means "buy one" but be warned all my friends have mathews and theyre constantly getting them repaired costing big $ in 15 years my oneida has never needed repair, and maintnance was done by myself.
ive got 2 of these bows and prefer them to mathews hands down, they are without a doubt the smoothest drawing and shooting bows available, they can be loud but if you know anything about archery to begin with this is an easy fix.
i have an oneida eagle, it sucks and is gay, it usually breaks like every 20 shots er so somthing goes on it , it is technically called a catapult not a compound , the strings always break on these peices of junk, they r like a ticking time bomb, though they are fast i would not recomend one unless you like things that suck like getting hurt by broken strings. or having the guy at the proshop give you a dirty look once a week because you are bringing a piece of shit into his store,
I've got 4 Onideas, I'm sorry you've had such a time. If you bought it used you obviously bought an abused bow . If you got it new it should have been sent back to the factory. I've never had problems with mine and I love them. Of course I don't throw it on top of the beer cans in the back of the pick-up ( from last nights rock quarry kegger) just before I go cow tippin' either. I hope you have better luck with that new wheel bow.
I shoot these bows, and for a long time. you don't know what you are talking about. You are probably one of those idiots that think that you cant kill a deer unless your bow is shooting 350 fps. you are probably wear the whole uniform and look like you just stepped out of a Cabelas.
Mathews is pure hype. I shot one and bought one for cost even though I couldn't figure out what all the fuss was about. I had to put a long heavy stabilizer on the Mathews because the perimeter weighted cam kicked the bottom of the bow out but I didn't have to put one on the Oneida. Oneida's are smooth shooters and are easy to work on and don't need a bow press to do so. Mathews sells so many bows because they have such an aggressive advertising and sponsor program.
I'll stick with my Oneidas, they are strong / reliable and simple. I have the Aeroforce and Extreme Eagle - both are deadly accurate and are consistant in their performance. By the way, most of the people who shoot other bows have switched to Oneida after shooting mine.
I have been into archery for a long time but cant afford a new bow wish i could i fell in love with this one when i first saw it. i have been pulling a 55 since i was about 10 or 11 but love the idea of getting the same accuracy with less strain on my shoulder since i messed it up
Think about it Jethro...the bending of the limbs is NOT what really propels the arrow or else they wouldn't call it a "compound" bow, it would be called a recurve or strait bow. Come out of the past and step into the NOW. They're really fancy these days, maybe you'd like one if you learned to shoot it!
Oh, yeah and looks are what gets you a deer, or a perfect competition score... If you ever actually shot an Oneida bow, you'd change your attitude. Although they're not the quietest out there, they shoot awesome.
do you own that bow. if you dont own it and shoot it in the woods. Dont look down on Mathews. I used to own bows like that and say stuff like that to mathews. when I just brought my DXT. that bow feels really confortable at 70lbs. makes me not want the other brands especially pse and hoyt. But I dont complain about the other brands.
i have shot many bows on the market and am a great friend of the local archery shop. Oneida as a company is very slow with servicing anything... they are older style tec. and dont compete with current bows on the market now. So in short go get a matthews they have won the most tornements in the world (matthews catch us if you can).... no one has yet
So when you call Mathews for technical help, can you speak to the owner? Mathews bows are like Mustangs, everyone has one because they know someone that has one. I sold my Oneida for an AR. Don't get me wrong, I love my AR, but when the time comes to replace it, I'm going back to Oneida. I've shot several Mathews bows, and they are like driving a Toyota, they get the job done, but they are very boring.
Hmm...they have won the most tornements in the world. Maybe cause they're so fricken mass produced that they can throw them out to every shooter in the world. Not Oneita. I'm more interested in the bow, not the business. I say if a bow is sweet, who cares about how popular they are or how many people use them.
I want one but you dont ship to ireland :(
