  • the only time i would want to see a messerschmidt at one of these performances is going down over the channel in flames

  • 3:47 SCRAMBLE! lol

  • I cannot beleive how good looking the Spitfire really is. It just has that pretty look to her.

  • Yeah, it's everywhere in various locations in England. I saw it last week down at the beach for free!

  • Bournemouth? I was there too. lol

  • cammonen fucking stuff of legend

  • This is where i did my Work Experience. It was such a joy that everyday at lunchtime they would send up the Spitfire :),

  • The BBMF only fly British planes (Or at least planes in RAF colours) because it is a RAF Flight

  • nice but stupid they dont have axis planes

  • its a tribute to the RAF planes that won the battle of britain, having a messerschmit turn up would be like the queen going to a strip club and performing....

  • Fantastic! My all time fav's, i would never get tired of seeing this vid. Missed them at Sunderland this year too Foggy to fly, but Spitfire and Hurricane did a fly by, the Lanc was out of service. Coulnt see them but you would know those engines anywhere!

  • Is there ME-109s during the celebration?

  • Not in this display, I have the flying programme in the description

  • 1:55 & 6:00 are amazing shots.

wish i lived further south to be able to go to Dux more frequently!!!

    Fabulous vid, thanks :) xx

  • This video was a wonderful reminder of the airplanes AND the men, now so few in number, who helped to change the course of Western Civilization that summer of 1940, while I was about to be a schoolboy in Chicago, safe from terror from the skies. For your viewers, it is still possible to fly in a Spitfire. Check out Bill Greenwood of Aspen, Colorado and a Spitfire Mark 9TF. And a salute to the gallant RAF!

Thanks for the great video, and the memories.

  • At the 4:48 mark, there's a fine shot of a Lancaster taxiing.

  • At 2:25 you can see me in my Spitfire mk IX painted in invasion colors (Black and White Stripes)2I-Y

  • yours?? give me a break..or should that be you wish?

  • That Rolls Royce Merlin engine makes a delicious noise.

  • when the spit and hurricane follow eachother over at 0:47, great stuff

  • WOW! The uK has a lancaster! Never heard of them until the Airshow in the states some 12 years ago or so when Canada flew her only one on in. The biggest bomber in the European theatre, believe it or not!

  • A Lancaster in the UK, would you believe it eh????? Research is your friend......

  • I believe it's only one of two left in the world that are still airworthy. And yes, it lives in the UK.

  • The other one I believe is in Canada.

  • Yes Simpson, it is. :-) There is one other that is allowed to taxi down the runway, but not take off. Does anyone know why they can't get that one airworthy again? And are there any others that could be restored?

  • The one that taxis at East Kirkby in Lincolnshire would be too expensive to get airworthy again. So it just goes up and down the runway, they do have a Spitfire there though I think and that flies.

  • Thanks, Simpson. :-)

A shame they can't afford to get it back into the air...one day perhaps.

  • Yes, we were going to fly her over to participate in the above airshow but the curator practicall hit the roof when i suggested it. I am personally the fan of a nice big radial firing up.

  • That was an amazing day, great video, so nice to see it again!!!!

  • 1:57, spit and typhoon flying together lol great stuff

  • spitfire>typhoon

  • per documentary on the battle, the spits & hurricanes had less than 4 min to reach from ground to flight fighting level, am wondering if this was ever achieved during this event.

  • I could just listen to the aircraft without even watching the video and still enjoy!

  • Wonderful planes, and awesome noise of Rolls-Royce Merlin Engine.

  • Brilliant. a thumbs up to all the pilots and aircraft owners and the crews that maintain them.

  • "Brilliant. a thumbs up to all the pilots and aircraft owners and the crews that maintain them."

The RAF own all the planes in the BBMF as it's a RAF Flight. All the pilot's and Ground Crew are RAF personnel

  • This video is brilliant... the Flypast that starts at 05:50 is so amazing well done to the person who shot this..

  • Thanks, it was amazing. I've also put the best clips into individual videos (e.g. the flypast and other formations)

  • My head is in this video. I know this guy woooooooooooooo

  • Brilliant

Looking forward to going back on the 20th, for the next airshow!

I love hearing those spits up in the air. Great stuff
