oil peak was end 2005. IEA say since 2006 they is decline.

  • I made stool this morning.

  • Another GREAT reason NOT to have kids. To hell with this bullshit.

  • "theory" perhaps back then.. today, it's very much "reality". Like your succint, well=produced video.

  • Theory? Sorry guy.. its not a theory. We WILL run out. Period. The question is when!

  • @danthegeoman We already hit 100 bucks a barrel, back in mid '09 if I'm not mistaken. I also read a german military PDF report that concluded that the worlds cheap oil supply will start a sharp decline between early 2011 and late 2015.

  • Human beings, with our big brains, we are supposed to be able to imagine the consequences of our actions, yet we still seem to be at the mercy of our emotional whims "I want cheap goods: I want cheap food; I want to drive my SUV a couple of blocks to buy those things, and I want it all now, dammit - NOW and CHEAP!!"

  • Drill, Baby, drill. LOL Let's use it all up before China and India have the chance.

  • it's $105 now - march 2011 - with the help of mideast political instability. In any case it could get worse in spite of the simplistic thinking of people who either deny or do not understand. I am getting it that there is no point in arguing with this crowd. They will be confronted by the harsh reality and continue to believe that it is a plot which any mathematician can demonstrate that it is not.

  • 100 Dollar oil did happen and it's about back up there again like in 08.

  • I love how people think that by drilling for more of the drug our economy and food supply are addicted to will actually do anything....

  • Drill on the East and West Coast of the USA and we will drown in OIL ! We do not drill for oil on the East or the West Coast which hold over 2 trillion barrels of Oil. Open up the East and west coast of the USA and Gasoline will go to 50 Cents a Gallion ! Big Oil Company don't want you to know this for you will not pay the price they want if you open up the both Coast of the USA and drive down the price of oil ! Gasoline should be about 50 cents a Gallion to be real without the LIE !

  • @turtle4aire Producing more oil or consuming less oil only mean peak oil will occur at a later date. Less expensive oil will lead to more consumption, bringing peak oil back to an earlier date.

  • Peak oil will result in a battle for resources resulting in world war. Then oil will temporarily not be as big an issue with such a mass die off of people. The war will cause mass starvation in Africa, world-wide hyperinflation, and the death of billions around the world. And yet, prices will still climb becasue production will have also been damped. To the winner goes the spoils. It's an ugly time we are nearing, huh?

  • @boxa888 - wrong

  • I honestly believe that society as a whole is being bamboozled! Science has been hijacked by mathematicians and philosophers. Most tech advances/inventions have come from engineers using sound physical/electrical principles, or gifted laymen with the tenacity to overcome problems. True knowledge is tucked away and closely guarded while each successive generation becomes more and more ignorant and apathetic. Peak Oil and Anthropological Global Warming are profit/control based lies!

  • Puhleese! Peak Oil is next myth that needs to go the way of the dinosaur. News Flash...... Oil is ABIOTIC! Which means a) it is not a so-called "Fossil Fuel" and b) the Earth continually produces oil! That's right people! The Russians know this and have found out how to tap in to the source the feeds the pools we presently drill into. Ever wonder how Russia all became the dominant oil/gas player? Now you know. Don't believe me, look for yourself.

  • This is as dumb as Obama's "health care". It is not so...period. We have at least 500 years supply in this country alone. Oil is a resource that is continually produced within the earth. Believe it. I was a VP of a division of ARCO. Running our of oil is a myth. We are running out of brains and truth in Washington and among the enviornmental idiots.

  • @SpeedMetal13 - no,

their might be some deep abiotic oil, but, if you remove material from the earth and burn it it is still depleted.

maybe the reason russians are the main producer now is - communism, being inefficient, didn't burn through it all already. political evens made their ability to exploit it uneven.

  • @walter0bz "Science" does not actually know how oil becomes oil. They don't even know how our Earth is really constructed! How does she give off her magnetic field? Why does she spin? And on and on. My point is, there are plausible theories about how the Earth makes continuously makes oil but they get ignored because those scientists don't worship at the altar of Einstein. Einstein's falsified theories have dominated all science and strangled it. From Geology right on up to Cosmology.

  • @SpeedMetal13 - well,

Science figured out laws about energy and matter that are what turned that black sludge into food, transport, housing, computers

    >>Earth makes continuously makes oil

Then you can use it at the speed it trickles out of the surface, no faster. There would be no need to drill for it.

You're right, its continually produced.. millions of times slower than we use it.

  • @SpeedMetal13 -

Do you think all the rocks are being constantly produced as fast as you can dig them up? What makes you think oil (just happens to be a liquid instead of a solid) is any different?

Do you expect COAL mines to replenish ?

  • @SpeedMetal13 stupid

  • @bhaddow

ad hominems, eh? Oh well so much for debate. Maybe the little thing in the Gulf will prove that what I said is correct. After all they have been trying to get this Russian drill technology for years. BP tried the super-deep drilling and oh boy have they found oil!

  • FTW

  • $130. now.

  • Very Nice Explanation. Although i gotta admit that i think this is very outdated since the price for a barrel of oil is $110 USD+ kind of scary thought.
