Sad part is that the cost of the drugs for her son wouldn't be so expensive as to need insurance coverage, if only there weren't so much over-regulation supported by people like her. In a sense she killed her own family.

Tea-baggers unite once again to deny people their right to access affordable health care and to perpetuate the status quo of corporate thievery and the murder (yes murder!) of American citizens.
You know what these tea-baggers call 10 million uninsured American children?
...Freedom.
You know what these ball sucking tea bagger douche bags call 40,000 dead Americans every year?
...Liberty
"Forgive them for they know not what they do" says Ridley with no sense of irony.
No, actually its not. That's the point of the people who oppose "reform." The situation we have today was created by the govt. in bed with the insurance companies and lawyers. More control is not needed to give everyone access to health care. In fact that's what got us into this mess...The govt. passing laws that pretty much allow the insurance companies to do what they want. Why not repeal that shit first and see what happens?
I didn't assume that you were saying that and you can't assume that people against the bill are in favor of the the status quo.
I'm in favor of health care reform that would reduce government involvement. Too bad they're not proposing that. I can't support a 2000 page bill that no one has time to read.
uninsured doesn't mean not cared for.. uninsured means that the person that had insurance doesn't have a job anymore so can't afford a policy.. I regress, give us back our jobs and we can afford health care regulated by the States.. the illegal gov't has taken our ability, our power in the market away because there is no more competition in a market that has been raped by outside entities and the States let the illegal gov't do it.. go to an ER and see if you're turned away..
I would ask you to prove what you just said.. show me 40Mil Americans dying in ER's across this country.. it is factually untrue, some call that a lie, soooo give me the YT link showing 40Mil Americans in ER's dying from being egnored and passing away..
Excuse me but how much of your money have you "compassionately" given to people you know who are struggling to get healthcare insurance? Oh no wait ... you'd rather take my money at the barrel of a compassionate gun to provide them with health care insurance that many of them don't even WANT.
I didn't used to buy it because it wasn't a priority!
DID YOU ALSO KNOW, that under this current plan about 6 million people will STILL NOT BE COVERED?
And it's not 40 mill it's more like 16 LEGAL citizens
First healthcare was too cheap, so they cartelized the industry with medical licensing, pharmaceutical patents, minimum rates, etc. Now healthcare is too expensive, so the government wants to offer a 'market alternative' padded with extra taxes to increase 'competition', while at the same time making it mandatory to purchase some form of healthcare. Everyone who can't afford healthcare is going to have to purchase the subsidized one or end up paying a penalty. This is just a new tax racket.
And that's your argument for sticking with the status quo?
For sticking with the most expensive and inefficient health care system in the world where 12-15% of the population (1 out of ever 6 people) can't afford health insurance. Rationing already exists depending on your economic status.
10 million America children have no health insurance (in what is supposedly the richest country the world has ever seen.)
Half of all bankruptcies cause by medical bills....
people don't lose their homes due to bankruptcies for medical bills, they go bankrupt beacuse the HMO's tell the hospital "we're not payin' anymore for this guy/gal.." I know an RN that works for BC/BS and one of her jobs is to call and kick people out of hospital beds..in NH generally the person stays and the hospital absorbs the cost..always been that way here, non profit hospital who find ways to pay for it through Foundations, Grants and contrabutions..add 20Mil illegals to the mix and you
Always readily available for comment, huh? Lightning fast response!
I'm not correcting people on their maturity. I'm correcting you on correcting people on their maturity, based on the fact that you're immature. Did you follow that? No? Read it again.
Should the left and the right make an agreement: 'you guys stop calling it Obamacare and we'll stop calling you teabaggers'
Huh? We were debating which condescending name is more condescending. Dems call righties teabaggers. A man that squats on top of a womens face and lowers his genitals into her mouth during sex, is known as a "teabagger". That's a pretty graphic name for the dems to wield. It's quite immature and prevalent in professional media. It's a lot worse that Obamacare, which actually has a nice ring to it--it's not very condescending at all.
Hey, if someone likes teabagging, it's their right to perform whatever sexual acts they want in their own home (as long as those acts don't endanger anyone).
Welcome to Random Debate Fest. Today we will be seeking the most irrelevant answer possible, while still using key words found in your opponents last response. Good luck contestants! May the most foolish person win...OK, we have a winner by default! It's FOOLBOY!
I don't think people like that actually exist anymore. One of my faves is standing sex. I bet you can't even do that with a petite 100 lb woman.
What is your interest is in my sexual views. Get it out of your mind if you think you're taking me for a test drive. You've got Thebravo for that. Maybe he'll do a standing 69 for ya!
Talk about edification! I'm not the one calling someone immature for for saying "Obamacare".
Evasion is your specialty. Any chance you can just admit defeat?
Yes, people should teabag on the cover of Time magazine! Now go find Bravo and teabag till you puke! Stop looking to me for moral approval. You could be teabagging your mommy right now and I wouldn't care!
Rep,Teapartiers,Beck are CEOcommunists...They want you pay your bloody rates to the CEOs gains and private health care bureaucracy!
40 milions US uninsured citizens and US bailed out economy really need a National Health Care (Single Payer) founded by progressive tax (not flat tax) on the capital gains.
@andrewpyrah you don't have socialist health care.
that being said, i have to wonder just what the hell people are thinking they 'can' do when they start shouting 'yes, we can.'
what does it even mean? yes, we can all shout in unison, something that was sold to us by the same guys who sell us toothpaste? it's just so silly. meaningful things take time to talk about.
ok So anti war protestors and the ones form the 60-70's were just idiots. I get your line of thought I just don't like it. When you see something you don't like you speak out about it.
if gov't healthcare passes the insurance companies will be out of business within a year.. the insurance companies cannot compete with gov't healthcare that dictates what a doctor is paid and what healthcare providers can charge for a care and services.. the gov't is RESTRICTED by the Constitution when it comes to healthcare and the States need to remind the illegal gov't just what their duties to the People are.. don't let them keep us from our rightful seat at the table..
"perpetuate the corporate rationing of health care" is not what I said.. the gov't has allowed HMO's and we should have stopped them there.. 10Mil poor children are NOT prohibited from healthcare and never have been.. we have always taken care of our poor, children or otherwise.. those that can't get health care under the current system, that should go back to sound capitalistic principles, are those here ILLEGALLY!!!!! 40Mil DON'T die for lack of health care, they are LYING to you..
Actually you have some of your facts wrong, but I am more then happy to straighten you out on a few things.
There really are about 10 million children who don't have access to affordable health care. In America. I know, it is hard to believe.
I didn't say 40 million people die every year from lack of health care. I said 40,000. You were off by a few magnitudes. Some researchers at Harvard came to that conclusion, not me.
It is unbelievable, I agree, but also true unfortunately.
excuse the typo of 40M from 40,000, and I don't care if researcher at Harvard came to that conclusion..if harvard researchers told you to jump off a bridge, would you..? if it's true that 10Mil children don't have access to affordable health care I'd ask you and Harvard what you consider "access"..? you access a building through a door, so what door is closed to 10Mil children a year..? the fact that their parents don't have jobs..? the fact our dollar fell from 100 pennies in 1912 to 3 pennies
You don't care about things like facts? Who am I to tell you what to believe, but how do you come to a conclusion about something without first analyzing facts?
10 million children are uninsured! In America! They don't have health insurance!!
If you don't have health insurance and you need medicine you can't just show up to the pharmacy and say "please!"
10Mil don't have health insurance because their parents can't afford it because they have no job, no money.. they are dismantling our country folks.. see sacraramaniacsmc's lastest video, you will be shocked.. the American People are at war with the illegal gov't.. it is treason and if we don't do something collectively we don't stand a chance individually.. OBAMA IS A THREAT as well as an illegal alien, there is NO DOUBT, research it..btw, Harvard gets their money from the our illegal gov't..
they have turned just about every system we had in place upside down and the traitors in Washington,DC MUST BE STOPPED!!!!!! last time I went to an ER the sign said in about 27 languages "we will not deny you care".. doctors took oaths and will treat those that need immediate treatment.. study up man, I'm 52 and have seen alot of good systems ruined in that time.. employment, health care, education, etc..
Stopping DC is just treating the symptoms of a larger disease. It's like putting a band aid on cancer.
You really want to solve some problems, attack the disease. The accumulation of unimaginable amounts of wealth and power to the most dominant predator in the economic food chain, multinational corporations.
They are the antithesis of freedom and liberty and they have successfully and almost completely usurped our government from us.
Globalization is a One World gov't and that's what the UN and Obama are after, it's in the Book of Revalations..my family came from England in 1620 and 1621 and on my fathers side 1635 from France..I would never disrespect anyones birthplace and if your wife came here legally I'm all for that.. my objection are those comin' to my table to eat after leaving their table because there is no food on their table, and they came in via the dark of night, these days it's in broad daylight illegally..
in addition, read what I have on my YT page and you'll see I'm all for the "poor, tired and huddled masses.." allow my country to help the world, just don't order me to give up to someone else what I worked hard for..
give us our jobs back and we can affford health insurance, like it was before the traitors in Washington,DC as well as on the State level, started messin' with the recipe and changed the menu from things that taste good to something now WE the People can hardly stomach..
Hey lady, do you really think that with a few votes you can turn around the wall street capture of the govt? Think about it - how much did you contribute to Obama's election and how much did the big Pharma and health insurance lobbies did.. Who do you think is going to control the regulation?
Translation for the clueless (albeit well-intentioned) mother:
My family can't afford to pay for a family member's health care...so I think everybody should be forced to pay for us.
Translation on her speech on Wall Street regulation:
I have absolutely no clue that the government who I would like to regulate these banks caused the financial collapse in the first place. Therefore, I want to give even more regulatory power to those who are robbing me and the rest of the country blind.
If her family can't afford to pay for a family member's chemotherapy, should they just die? Um, no. Taxpayers should pay for it. Your wealth is not more important than a human being's life; get that straight!
So, if in order for someone you didn't know to survive, all your possessions needed to be liquidated and the resulting cash would be spent towards saving their life it would be alright to do so? Good to know. My dad had a stroke a few years back and needs money for facial surgery to prevent his eye from infection. However, at the moment, he can't afford it, so I expect to see all your assets in my mailbox by Sunday so he can. Thanks.
In the form of taxes, we'll all be paying for everyone's health care; that is the public option works. It won't just be you paying seeing a tax increase so don't fret, you self-centered waste of resources. Do I mind seeing more taken from my pay checks to make sure people like your dad can get treatment? No and neither should you! Open your heart! There are many more like this woman's son, asshole!
Sorry, that's not how the public option works. The public option being proposed is a _subsidized_ option, but participants still have to pay for it. It is intended to increase competition with market based firms and entice them to keep their prices low (supposedly, near an equilibrium rate).
Also, I was responding to your statement: 'your wealth is not more important that a human being's life'
Given this, it must be the case that if your wealth can be used to save another human being, it is more important that you give it away, no matter the cost, than hold onto it and allow them to perish.
I highly doubt you follow such an ethic. Your earnings are not spent solely on sustaining other peoples lives.
In fact, given that you have a computer, you must spend at least some of your money on leisure, which is in direct conflict with your statement that it is more important to sustain the lives of others than to hold onto wealth.
And since when did having an open heart imply that you must support the seizure of other peoples property to pay for the medical expenses of those who can't afford it? If anything, an open heart would mean that you yourself would be willing to make a sacrifice regardless of what decisions other people make.
Nice display of "compassionate" conservatism, douche!
Let's put Wall St. in charge of everything and let the "free market" work its voodoo!
Translation of your translation:
"uh, let's give all the power and authority to an institution that is 100% unaccountable to the people, an institution that has usurped the levers of government from the people and sent all our jobs to china."
I have no problem with the gvmnt helping people in need.
Since bankster executives and CEO's are not people they shouldn't have qualified for any bailouts.
But hey, when you put the banksters in charge of gvmnt at a time when their buddies back on wall st are holding the country hostage and the economy for ransom, this is the kinda result you get.
How did the banksters start running the goverment to begin with?
Wonderful "progressive" ideas like the Federal Reserve, repealing the Glass-Stegal act under the Clinton administration, allowing corporations to file lawsuits under the Regean administration, etc.
Washington DC is corrupt. Why on Earth would you want to give it more power over the People?
LOL, what we really do have a say on what goes on in Washington? The War in Iraq Gitmo Torture Blackwater Roberto Gonzalez Ending the War in Iraq (after 5+ years) Banker Bailouts CEO Bonuses etc As for the Republican stooge...who signed it into law? Did 8 years of Bush teach you nothing? We have NO say in Washington. At the heigh of the Iraq War over 80% polled wanted us out of Iraq. Then the mainstream just stopped reporting those figures...
I know that you want all those cute military boys home as much as I do. I can say from experience that they are really missing some hot action with you cock slut.
Fat chance that's going to happen when we have people demanding more and more of the goverment.
It's all a game. They create a crisis so we beg them for more money, but ironically the goverment doesn't have any money at all. It just steals it all from everyone which further impoverishes everyone else.
It behaves like a parasite and you're feeding it with national "healthcare".
Excuse me, please don't with insults; it does not stimulate meaningful conversation.
With that said, I think you don't realize that, in a truly free market economy, this would not and could not happen. The government and the big bankers and corporations are in collusion. Because the supply of money and the interest rate at which it is lent out is controlled by central planners and not the free market we are in this mess. Bailouts, asset (ie housing) bubbles, all of it would not be possible.
Right. Laissez faire free market capitalism has such a great track record. If only it wasn't a cancerous tumor that consumes its host every time its set free.
The 19th century is calling you. They want you to come home.
Well of course you have every right to disagree with me...
with that said, free market capitalism actually DOES have a respectable track record. It has lead to the most wealth and has brought the highest number of people out of poverty than any other system in human history.
Socialism, Marxism, Maoism, Stalinism, and the merger of state of corporate interests (I'm sorry to say, Fascism) on the other hand, do not.
Also, we need not go back to the 19th century. Before 1913 would suffice.
Some people make the claim that if we can collectively share the cost of roads and other public services, why not health care, which affects us all? The answer is that by collectivising health care, no sector of the economy, from our environment (already used as an excuse for govt. theft and controls) to our foods, clothing . . . that can not be siphoned with legislation and more and more usurpation. This is not true with most other public concerns.
This poor woman doesn't understand her options and because of laziness or stupidity didn't acknowledge them here. Her son will be eligible for benefits from another insurer for 18 mos. after losing benefits due to the HIPPA laws. That doesn't mean it will be cheap but it will be cheaper than paying for the treatments. Also cobra is available for him as well. Health insurance is not a right, it is a privilege. I know because I used to have it and now I don't.
Well why would a company take on a person with a pre existing condition. It's a money pit for them. You can't require a company to do things that will drive it under. There should be a government plan for those people who fall threw the crakes but not everyone. That would also make everyone's insurance cheaper.
Instead the government says it will cover us and that if you don't buy it you will be penalized. So if you can't force the companies to cover the pre existing conditions, then the government will make you have their coverage. They put US in debt for 17.2 trillion now Obama care pushers think that these same people will save us from big pharma. Please... get a grip, control spending and then you can get these costs lowered. Less money in the market = higher value for the dollar.
Why can't they refrain from using derogatory verbiage to describe the Tea Party Protesters? Is it a case of if you can't debate them on the issues, smear them?
I guess that she's missed the news networks already reporting on how many of the cancer screening are being said to be over rated and should be cut back Then the fact that big pharma (the ones responsible for that high cost shes talking about) are getting a free pass in this bill. Do we need reform? Hell YES! But not this nightmare that needs to be passed with bribes behind closed doors late @ night on weekends. Want a view of how healthcare will be? Go to your DMV and see how it works!
It's a sad part of the reality of liberty and real sovereign freedom. And just as sadly she's not hearing what she's actually saying. She doesn't trust the institution that oversees the regulation of the insurance company, but it's ok to trust that same institution to oversee your healthcare directly?
Sure, the "evil" insurance companies are scum. But let;s turn it over to honest, squeaky clean, upstanding politicians? (tongue in cheek)
1:58 Sorry to hear about your son, Ma'am, but what does that have to do with my income? I didn't see you pony up any cash for my sister that died from cancer.
I agree. I'm sorry to hear about her son but what did they do ahead of time to insure that he had the insurance needed for the future. Sounds like this was one of those 'I have insurance off my parents plan till I get out of college' deals. Now that the poor guy is getting out of college, he losing health insurance. As a nation we should highly suggest to young people to get catastrophic health plan with a high deductible. These plans are inexpensive and would have been the saving grace for him.

Tea-baggers unite once again to deny people their right to access affordable health care and to perpetuate the status quo of corporate thievery and the murder (yes murder!) of American citizens.
You know what these tea-baggers call 10 million uninsured American children?
...Freedom.
You know what these ball sucking tea bagger douche bags call 40,000 dead Americans every year?
...Liberty

Pazrayna 2 years ago 2
I don't claim that any of the proposed health care bills are freedom or liberty. But it is a movement in the right direction.
fczwartek 2 years ago
No, actually its not. That's the point of the people who oppose "reform." The situation we have today was created by the govt. in bed with the insurance companies and lawyers. More control is not needed to give everyone access to health care. In fact that's what got us into this mess...The govt. passing laws that pretty much allow the insurance companies to do what they want. Why not repeal that shit first and see what happens?
hibraisil 2 years ago 4
I didn't assume that you were saying that and you can't assume that people against the bill are in favor of the the status quo.
I'm in favor of health care reform that would reduce government involvement. Too bad they're not proposing that. I can't support a 2000 page bill that no one has time to read.
Pazrayna 2 years ago
uninsured doesn't mean not cared for.. uninsured means that the person that had insurance doesn't have a job anymore so can't afford a policy.. I regress, give us back our jobs and we can afford health care regulated by the States.. the illegal gov't has taken our ability, our power in the market away because there is no more competition in a market that has been raped by outside entities and the States let the illegal gov't do it.. go to an ER and see if you're turned away..
Dewdaahman 2 years ago
I don't have to go to the ER to see someone get turned away in the United States. I can watch it right here on YouTube.
Of course, technically these people didn't get "turned away." They just got ignored until they "passed away."
fczwartek 2 years ago
I would ask you to prove what you just said.. show me 40Mil Americans dying in ER's across this country.. it is factually untrue, some call that a lie, soooo give me the YT link showing 40Mil Americans in ER's dying from being egnored and passing away..
Dewdaahman 2 years ago
Excuse me but how much of your money have you "compassionately" given to people you know who are struggling to get healthcare insurance? Oh no wait ... you'd rather take my money at the barrel of a compassionate gun to provide them with health care insurance that many of them don't even WANT.
I didn't used to buy it because it wasn't a priority!
DID YOU ALSO KNOW, that under this current plan about 6 million people will STILL NOT BE COVERED?
And it's not 40 mill it's more like 16 LEGAL citizens
conspiracy777 2 years ago
First healthcare was too cheap, so they cartelized the industry with medical licensing, pharmaceutical patents, minimum rates, etc. Now healthcare is too expensive, so the government wants to offer a 'market alternative' padded with extra taxes to increase 'competition', while at the same time making it mandatory to purchase some form of healthcare. Everyone who can't afford healthcare is going to have to purchase the subsidized one or end up paying a penalty. This is just a new tax racket.
TehBANN3D 2 years ago
And that's your argument for sticking with the status quo?
For sticking with the most expensive and inefficient health care system in the world where 12-15% of the population (1 out of ever 6 people) can't afford health insurance. Rationing already exists depending on your economic status.
10 million America children have no health insurance (in what is supposedly the richest country the world has ever seen.)

if gov't healthcare passes the insurance companies will be out of business within a year.. the insurance companies cannot compete with gov't healthcare that dictates what a doctor is paid and what healthcare providers can charge for a care and services.. the gov't is RESTRICTED by the Constitution when it comes to healthcare and the States need to remind the illegal gov't just what their duties to the People are.. don't let them keep us from our rightful seat at the table..
Dewdaahman 2 years ago
If I follow you correctly it is the duty of the US government to-
a) perpetuate the corporate rationing of health care.
b) prohibit 10 million (poor) American children from having access to affordable health care.
c) allow 40,000 Americans to die every year because they don't have access to affordable health care.
d) prop up a fraudulent and despicable insurance industry that is raping the American people.
I'm ok with the gvmnt putting a bullet in the head of the insurance indstry.
fczwartek 2 years ago
"perpetuate the corporate rationing of health care" is not what I said.. the gov't has allowed HMO's and we should have stopped them there.. 10Mil poor children are NOT prohibited from healthcare and never have been.. we have always taken care of our poor, children or otherwise.. those that can't get health care under the current system, that should go back to sound capitalistic principles, are those here ILLEGALLY!!!!! 40Mil DON'T die for lack of health care, they are LYING to you..
Dewdaahman 2 years ago
Actually you have some of your facts wrong, but I am more then happy to straighten you out on a few things.
There really are about 10 million children who don't have access to affordable health care. In America. I know, it is hard to believe.
I didn't say 40 million people die every year from lack of health care. I said 40,000. You were off by a few magnitudes. Some researchers at Harvard came to that conclusion, not me.
It is unbelievable, I agree, but also true unfortunately.
fczwartek 2 years ago
excuse the typo of 40M from 40,000, and I don't care if researcher at Harvard came to that conclusion..if harvard researchers told you to jump off a bridge, would you..? if it's true that 10Mil children don't have access to affordable health care I'd ask you and Harvard what you consider "access"..? you access a building through a door, so what door is closed to 10Mil children a year..? the fact that their parents don't have jobs..? the fact our dollar fell from 100 pennies in 1912 to 3 pennies
Dewdaahman 2 years ago

10 million children are uninsured! In America! They don't have health insurance!!

However, at the moment, he can't afford it, so I expect to see all your assets in my mailbox by Sunday so he can. Thanks.

jfkjrlover 2 years ago
Sorry, that's not how the public option works. The public option being proposed is a _subsidized_ option, but participants still have to pay for it. It is intended to increase competition with market based firms and entice them to keep their prices low (supposedly, near an equilibrium rate).
Also, I was responding to your statement: 'your wealth is not more important that a human being's life'
...
TehBANN3D 2 years ago 2
...
Given this, it must be the case that if your wealth can be used to save another human being, it is more important that you give it away, no matter the cost, than hold onto it and allow them to perish.
I highly doubt you follow such an ethic. Your earnings are not spent solely on sustaining other peoples lives.
...
TehBANN3D 2 years ago

In fact, given that you have a computer, you must spend at least some of your money on leisure, which is in direct conflict with your statement that it is more important to sustain the lives of others than to hold onto wealth.

This is not true with most other public concerns.

jdpinc123 2 years ago
Well why would a company take on a person with a pre existing condition. It's a money pit for them. You can't require a company to do things that will drive it under. There should be a government plan for those people who fall threw the crakes but not everyone. That would also make everyone's insurance cheaper.
sharpie443 2 years ago
Instead the government says it will cover us and that if you don't buy it you will be penalized. So if you can't force the companies to cover the pre existing conditions, then the government will make you have their coverage. They put US in debt for 17.2 trillion now Obama care pushers think that these same people will save us from big pharma. Please... get a grip, control spending and then you can get these costs lowered. Less money in the market = higher value for the dollar.
