the point isn't to make the animation, it was to learn java. so yes, flash is far easier to use, but its cool that you can do all this through a whole bunch of code.

i didn't write the source, it was for a class and i got the basic stuff. but the basic stuff was just for one triangle so I had to make more classes for all the other triangles i needed (evident in my fishing one). I wish I had the source code for everyone who asked, I have to relearn Java for class next year, and this would help tremendously. I lost the source code like 3 years ago though on whatever computer it was originally on. Thanks though,

in java, there are very many facilities to do this (swing toolkit, awt, etc.). This just involves adding a customized JPanel to the JFrame and painting different shapes (there are methods in the API to do this), and iterating through the animation process a few times, and then switching to a different set of colors..
