@MaddieTippit Thank you for your comment. I'm trying to remember. Did Bess in the books have long blond hair? I thought this actress was pretty good in getting Bess right. Sort of silly and dizzy and totally loyal to Nancy. What is your favorite Nancy Drew TV show and/or favorite book?

series, the 1977 episode The Secret Of The Whispering Walls. And book, The Mystery at the Moss-Covered Mansion. :) But I ordered sixteen new books...so we'll see if it stays the same(:

I like the original version of the Moss Covered Mansion (1941) just because it's sort of weird and strangely written ( look it up "mystery at the moss-covered mansion" on wikipedia) and has great cover art. Nancy is so nosy and keeps messing with this poor guy who just wants privacy in his mansion in the woods. I know there's a new version from 1971 which I never read. I may try to find it now that you mention it.

@BeachBunny13 the books kept jumping from blonde to reddish blonde to titian blonde; at least some form of blonde. This girl looks brunette. Doesn't make a very good Nancy

Yes you Canadians - at least Torontonians - do have an accent and I find it charming. For instance, you say "abewt" instead of "about" and "prrrk" instead of "park". Tracy Ryan is so sweet, I could listen to her all day.

People send me email asking where I got this series. I got my DVDs from Amazon, but I've seen them on eBay used. Search using the terms "Nancy Drew" AND "Tracy Ryan" and it'll come up. I've seen it for as little as $8.00 (US). If you're a collector, you'll enjoy this series.

These girls were really, really cute. And very girly.

The plots were not heavy but the art direction in each episode was pretty good. The girls always looked cute and attractive.

That's funny that you mention the Canadian accent with this TV series of Nancy Drew. I don't hear the accent either. But you got me thinking, so I'll watch it again.

I think there's a box set with DVDs from both the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys episodes. I just have the ND. Now I sort of wish I had them both. There's at least an episode or two where Nancy showed up in the HB's show.

Yeah, it seems to confuse a lot of people. The biggest complaint about this series seems to be girls upset that Nancy didn't have reddish hair.
