  • Ok thanks!

  • What lowering springs are on the car? How much did they lower it? How's the ride?

  • @rods1420

I didn't do the lowering, the previous owner did.

They looked like Eibach springs though. They were red, that is all that I remember. It lowered about 1.5" from stock and the ride was harsh.

  • turbo or no turbo? I like the sound. I have a Chrysler 200 I want to put this exhaust in. What are your thoughts?

  • @nairbelad

No turbo on this. I was planning on it but, sold the car.

Magnaflows are quality pieces but, their straight thru design does not sound good on 4-cylinder or 6-cylinder engines (my opinion).

  • @Evilliboba I AGREE! ...it is hard to find something that is going to NON-RICEY...i know I wont ever get away from that ricer buzz in higher rpm but it is still hard to find a nice sound exhaust that is not loud....for a 4 banger

  • 2.3l turbo is a pretty fast flippin car, watched one blow the doors off a 5.0, mind you if you turbo the 5.0 itll be faster still but that engine can be pricey to turbo out and blown head gaskets get a little more complicated.

  • @Odinkudo611

Not to mention a 5.0L block cracks around 500hp.

  • i'd stick with the stock exhaust because any aftermarket exhaust on a 4 banger sounds like ass idc how expensive it is. just my opinion tho

  • @rockstardrinker95

Fair enough. It was like that when I got it so, what can you say.

I recently got another '89 Notchback, I'm think of running a Flowmaster 50 series. It will give a little bit of rumble but still keep it quiet since it is a three chamber.

  • @Evilliboba 2.3 or a 5.0?

  • @rockstardrinker95

    2.3

I have a 5.0 powered Mark VII with Hooker Max Flows.

  • @Evilliboba oh nice so you got the 5.0 for power, and 2.3 for gas milage!

  • @rockstardrinker95

Exactly. It is nice to drive the 4banger around town and get 22-25mpg then be able to tear around in the 5.0 on the weekends.

  • @Noejr10 2 1/4in from the mufflers to the tips. I have about 3 different diameters throughout the system cause I'm too cheap to replace everything with a single size.

  • @enjoiskate14 I have a 92 four banger with a Y splitting the output right after the cat with two Flowmaster 40s and it doesn't sound as ricey as some other mufflers I've heard if your still looking for ideas

  • @EMKshadow What size exhaust are you running?

  • I would rather keep it quite instead of sounding like a ricer haha, no aftermarket exhaust is going to sound good on a 4cyl mustang

  • @sprchgdcobra

I agree with you more or less. Some of the Turbo 2.3L sound wicked.

  • The very first car i ever had was a 1987 mustang notch back, 2.3, i bought it in 1994, and ive still got it, still runs great, still looks good, dont drive it as much now as i did in the past, but that mustang never once in all those years let me down . i trust it more than the new cars i have. This past summer i found a 2003 mustang v6 i wanted, i was going to trade my old 87 in on it, but at the last minute i did not have the heart to trade it. i bought the 03 and kept my old one too.

  • i have a 4cylinder 1989 mustang, and i cant find any exhaust to make it sounds good, any ideas?

  • @enjoiskate14

Pretty much anything is going to sound iffy. However, you might want to try a Thrush chambered muffler. They are only $30 from Summit Racing.

  • @enjoiskate14 i have a 89 mustang hatchback with a 2.3 there is a glass pack on it and it sounds good

  • @enjoiskate14 HI

if you want a sound-litle bit like a v8,make a dual exhaust, join together pipe of 1and 2 cyl and go out with first pipe,3 and 4 and go with the second....the sound will be amazing...

  • @enjoiskate14 Straight pipe.

  • @enjoiskate14 more specifically 3 inch turbo-back straight pipe.

  • @enjoiskate14 I would go with a borla boomer. yes it is a muffler tip and some ppl will say you have a fart can, but it sounds alot better than a ricey Apexi N1 more of a low sound and it also sounds better than the cackle of a 4cyl with a straight pipe or a glasspack. i have one on my 94 eclipse and most everyone here says its way better sounding than the N1's running around. They are a bit pricey tho thats the only drawback.

  • @evilliboba dude i wish you knew what wheels those are cuz there not ponys lol i want those rims haha i have an 88 turbo coupe :)

  • @gravedigger472 ROH rims possibly

  • @gravedigger472

I wish I could tell you. I have no clue. I know for sure they are not the stock ones.

  • @Evilliboba they are stock ones, I have does on mine

  • @diegotutiven

    You sure? They aren't Pony's.

  • @diegotutiven those rims are made by progressive... not ford lol

  • @Evilliboba I believe there ROH rims

  • @brace06

You are the second one to say that so, I'm being to believe you guys are correct. Its a shame I didn't keep her...

  • @Evilliboba Yeah thats what they look like the 5 points are not roiunded enough to be ponies. And the car sounds good. And you should buy another one. I bought my 89 5.0 off my cousin in march for $2800 and then i bought my 92 2.3 convertible in september off a friend of a friends sister for $400. There great cars im starting to love the 2.3 as much as te 5.0

  • hye man, i got the same car, and 89 4 banger and i'm still deciding on what exhuast to do., think you could do a driveby video? notice any gains? and also, did you notice a big improvement when u swithcted to an elctric fan?

  • @57BelAir

I actually just sold the car a few weeks ago.

As for the any gains from the mods it certainly felt like it livened up the meager 88hp it had stock.
