Suboxone is just another trap. sure it will get you off dope, but as soon as you say "Ok, its been x amount of time i been clean, i dont think i need subs anymore. 8 hours later "Hey, why am i dopesick? I havent done opiates in x months, how am i going through withdrawal from a drug i dont do anymore?" I ask myself tthis everyday. Been off opiates for 3 years and still get sick.

Opiate withdrawal, and the lasting effects are something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. It's not just the pain you experience while your body fights you to supply it with the drug you have adapted it to. It's the feeling of never being the same again. Your brain is permanently changed, and will never produce the normal amount of dopamine that controls happiness. You'll always need the drug to feel "normal". Alot of people who scoff at addicts don't realize this. We use to feel "normal".

everybody is always looking for the easy way to home detox. first off you hear peoples main complaint is they cannot take off of work or what ever to go to rehab and thats fine but if you are buying illegaly would you rather detox in jail? they will take good care of you there through the sick stages. lol anyway the best way i found to detox is to simply cut back dosages and get somebody to help you. remember if addicted you cannot trust yourself by allowing so much each day. good luck detoxing

He stayed away from the hard stuff and stuck to pot but that first oxy ruined his life, and he's screwed everyone who's ever cared for him and he hates it, but he can't quit for the life of him.

Pain pills completely wrecked my life..taken a great job..good woman.. and all the extras. was taking 30 codone a day and tons of adderal. Luckily my family was able to pull me out and ive been clean for 3 years. Also notice they don't mention Adderol addiction/abuse. It's nearly impossible to get a RX for hard narcotics in Pennsylvania even if you're in severe chronic pain.

Just to clarify: Oxycontin and the stuff in percocets are the exact same thing. However, percocets usually contain some oxycodone, acetaminophen and caffeine. The percocet contains a lower amount of the opioid in it, but provides it more quickly. The straight oxycontin tablets you usually see have some sort of time release so the drug is more slowly administered over time into the blood stream through the stomach. Of course, people break it up to get a straight hit of the drug to avoid that.

You implyed that you were using continuously to the point of tolerance, therefore, you did/do have a "dependency" to oxycodone.
I was addicted to oxycontin for a couple of years on and off. I'm done with it now. Even though I had a near-fatal car accident and broke my back last year, I still have no dependency to them. After smoking and snorting them 40 after 40 for so long, I began to see what it does to people. It makes em lazy. And a lazy addict is just going to steal things from the people closest to them just to get their next dragon... I was tired of that shit so I quit by doing less and less every day.

@jezmuff My 75 year old mother did not seek out a doctor for addictive medications for pain. She went to a doctor whom she trusted and was prescribed the damn stuff repeatedly. I've soent the last month getting my mother off the crap and this isn't the first time. I've told every doctor she has ever seen, heart, arthritis and primary and they ALL continue to prescribe the stuff even tho she suffers horribly while on the meds.

Been on darvacet for years and it has been taken off the market her DOCTOR decided to prescribe her generic oxycontin and mother had no idea what it was until it almost killed her two months later. I spent two months at my mothers home helping her regain her health. She lost control of bladder and bowels both and could not keep food down. The warnings on oxycontin state NOT to prescribe it to people over 65 years of age

@roliver31483 They are same thing. My doctor prescribed me Oxycodone Immediate-Release because of a chronic health condition that I have. I asked them to explain it to me. He said that the Oxycodone is immediate and Oxycontin is Oxycodone Extended-Release. The only difference is how they are released.. In terms of Brands versus generics, he said there is no difference b/c the brand names have oxycodone in them. Has nothing to do with purity. Like getting generic Ibuprofen vs. Advil. Same Thing.

When you compare the bioavailability of smoking it to even ingesting it, as the drug was intended to be administered, it makes absolutely no sense.

If these drugs were legal people would get nalaxone with them (for those of you who don't know what that is its what the people in ambulences give people to reverse opiod/opiate overdose). Nobody would pass away so long as they had somebody around them to administer the nalaxone these drug laws and holding back on giving people the tools to save their lives are what the real problem is. You can't snort or shoot Oxus anymore. There is a method to make it possible to do but its not worth it. The time release is now throughout the entire pill so you can't just wash it off. Opiate withdrawal, and the lasting effects are something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. It's not just the pain you experience while your body fights you to supply it with the drug you have adapted it to. It's the feeling of never being the same again. Your brain is permanently changed, and will never produce the normal amount of dopamine that controls happiness. You'll always need the drug to feel "normal". Alot of people who scoff at addicts don't realize this. We use to feel "normal".

everybody is always looking for the easy way to home detox. first off you hear peoples main complaint is they cannot take off of work or what ever to go to rehab and thats fine but if you are buying illegaly would you rather detox in jail? they will take good care of you there through the sick stages. lol anyway the best way i found to detox is to simply cut back dosages and get somebody to help you. remember if addicted you cannot trust yourself by allowing so much each day. good luck detoxing

I suffer from Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome and Chronic Non-Bacterial Prostatitis....before I was on Oxycodone I was basically in bed all day long. I tried everything to help the condition i will have for the rest of my life..I was diagnosed when I was 18 yrs. I'm 21 now. Oxycodone saved my life.

Just to clarify: Oxycontin and the stuff in percocets are the exact same thing. However, percocets usually contain some oxycodone, acetaminophen and caffeine. The percocet contains a lower amount of the opioid in it, but provides it more quickly. The straight oxycontin tablets you usually see have some sort of time release so the drug is more slowly administered over time into the blood stream through the stomach. Of course, people break it up to get a straight hit of the drug to avoid that.

Percocet is also a trade name, although, it does contain acetaminophen and oxycodone, it does not contain caffeine. Certain codeine and propoxyphene combinations contain caffeine.
You implyed that you were using continuously to the point of tolerance, therefore, you did/do have a "dependency" to oxycodone.

I was addicted to oxycontin for a couple of years on and off. I'm done with it now. Even though I had a near-fatal car accident and broke my back last year, I still have no dependency to them. After smoking and snorting them 40 after 40 for so long, I began to see what it does to people. It makes em lazy. I've soent the last month getting my mother off the crap and this isn't the first time. Been on darvacet for years and it has been taken off the market her DOCTOR decided to prescribe her generic oxycontin and mother had no idea what it was until it almost killed her two months later. I spent two months at my mothers home helping her regain her health. She lost control of bladder and bowels both and could not keep food down. The warnings on oxycontin state NOT to prescribe it to people over 65 years of age

@briggenhirt1 no no no you're wrong too. Oxycodone is all that is in OxyContin. No questions of "purity" or one being more "real", they're chemically identical. OxyNorm is straight release oxycodone; OxyContin is SR (sustained release) oxycodone.

@roliver31483 They are same thing. My doctor prescribed me Oxycodone Immediate-Release because of a chronic health condition that I have. I asked them to explain it to me. He said that the Oxycodone is immediate and Oxycontin is Oxycodone Extended-Release. The only difference is how they are released.. In terms of Brands versus generics, he said there is no difference b/c the brand names have oxycodone in them. Has nothing to do with purity. Like getting generic Ibuprofen vs. Advil. Same Thing.

Doctors hospitals and pharmacudical companies LOVE to see addicts cause it means they are selling their product. People are fucking retarded. Oxycontin is just the NAMEBRAND of the Oxycodone opiate. They are not two completely different drugs. Don't talk if you have no idea what your talking about. Yes, they taste differently, and have different textures, but that doesn't change the fact that there is Oxycodone IN Oxycontin.

Some people drink and hate it some people drink once and fall in love and become alcoholics. There are also people with legitimate pain issues and people like these Assholes smoking their Fucking pills on camera make it nearly impossible for someone with degenerative disc disease, Herniated Disc etc to get medication.

i just got out of rehab because of oxycontin thank god i got prof. help and im still not right in the head i quit cold turkey no suboxine the real way to cold turkey im 61 days clean today and im some what starting to feel normal .....its a long process getting clean and youl never be the person you were befor you did o.c. so get help and help others and you might keep your sobriety good luckk addicts

When you compare the bioavailability of smoking it to even ingesting it, as the drug was intended to be administered, it makes absolutely no sense.
People do have their preferred methods, though. A friend of mine who was a mainline crank freak in the 70's still dreams about cooking up, often, so the method of administration is as much a part of a high as the high, itself.

@xmanclyx I think he cares and grieves for his wife, it is the reason why he keeps doing the drugs. When a person is addicted like he is, they feel nothing. Their emotions are very flat. The addicted person only cares about his next fix, addicts are very selfish. I feel bad for the mother and baby girl. It looks like the son is going to end up dead too.
