There are many factors that play in to a car's traction abilities besides HP/TQ & Drivetrain. There are other things like tire specs(ex. width), wheelbase, track(distance from right to left wheels), curb weight, aerodynamics(ex. downforce/lift), & gearbox ratio. I'm sure there are other things that may also play their part like being able to control boost in each gear too.
Wait till this beast comes back out in March of 2011...it's been rebuilt stronger and will be running on E98. They are also bringing a bunch of their 1000+awhp GTR's with them. AMS performance ftw!
The camera man or woman sucks ass. They couldn't keep the camera straight if their life depended on it. There was 30 secs of nothing and then they didn't even record the full run.
It was recorded with a camera phone, so I was kind of limited on how much I could record. Also, why would you talk trash about another persons vids when yours are of similar(and lesser) quality?

They ended up running a 228mph pass...that's when it threw a rod through the block and caught fire. Eric (driver) was a super nice guy and despite almost burning up, he was cool as a cucumber afterwards. There were twin super charged Ford GT there that couldn't break 220. That fact that a 2.1L 4 cylinder did it is insane!!!
Yes, the Performance Power TT/GT does, by a long shot. However, they were no shows at the Texas Mile, as was SW with thier Supras. Unless I was just happened to miss them somehow. I'm not even an Evo fan, but they were among the fastest cars of the weekend. A couple of Lambos and a couple of GTs were the only faster cars I saw.

Mike R.'s Evo 2 is stupidly fast, but it too has quite a few body mods and definitely no leather seats or A/C, its a race car. I'm not trying to take anything away from a 2L motor running almost 240mph, I find that just as amazing as Heffner running 270mph, actually more.
@2wheeledsamurai what was the weight difference between the two vehicles? Just curious. Still an impressive feat. What the cost was to build the car up? Was it a tube chassis car with fiber glass body? I wonder how much boost is had to run. I know the eclipse that is 2.0L, runs between 88 - 92 boost. Get Brent Rua down the 1320 in less than 7s. That's pretty incredible.
@sinusbradycardia@sinusbradycardia I don't know much about the Ford GT... 6 liter V8 with twin turbos or maybe in was compound charged... Can't remember now. I can tell you that the Evo is essentially a street car... Stock frame and body with some carbon fiber bits. Hood, trunk lid, doors. Fully built motor, transmission and Tcase. I think Eric said he was running about 55psi of boost.. An eclipse motor and an Evo motor are practically the same motor. 2g63 vs a 4g63. Great motors.
@2wheeledsamurai I got a close up look at that car, it is anything but a street car. The GTs are 100% more street than that car. The EVO was a tube chassis car, probably a 25.1E equivalent. The GTs were all stock looking with modded motors. Regardless, it's apples to oranges. If you want to compare the EVO to an American car, compare it to Kelly Bise's Camaro.
@2wheeledsamurai - He did a great job, what wasn't visible, he had a camera to show me the welds from the inside. You know I didn't want them to be bad welds and they were perfect. With that, I took my car back out to the track, since I put the power plate in my boost went up 2 lbs. However, I had my car guy tune and I ran a 11.69 at 117mph. Same 60' time. Just by porting. So the little things add up.
@2wheeledsamurai I also ported my intercooler neck and my throttle body and upper intake, plenum, crossover pipe and biggest of all my headers. My headers, when I looked into them were horrible. The way they will welded, the exhaust port from the head, I had drill 1' holes so I could grind off the overlapping metal, in some cases they were blocked about 50%. I ported them., had to pay a guy $75 to weld 4130 steel because the pieces I cut out were bent and would not fit back in.
@2wheeledsamurai . My Grand National all most stock, it had a 93 chip in it. I ran a 13.5 @ 102. I spent $750 for TE44 turbo(58mm compressor wheel), methanol injection kit($500) and a Turbo Tweak and 42lbs injector($289). I ran an 11.88 at 115. Shitty 60' time 1.87s. Then winter came and I bought a power plate to envyingly distribute air to the cylinders and I cermanic coated my headers, downpipe.
@2wheeledsamurai the 4g63 was the name of the 4cyclinder turbo motor put into a lot of performance mitsubishi products, like the eclipse(and laser/talon), galant, evo. The 1g, 2g, 3g you are referring to is the 1st generation, 2nd gen, 3rd gen, of the eclipse. Awesome engine, i had one in my 1st gen talon. easy to work on and add power, with lots of aftermarket support. No 2g63 made...unless you chop an evo motor in half and mount it on your tricycle and then you can call it whatever you want.
