  • @tnoutdoors9 As usual, a very professional and very informative video. I have been thinking about carrying something different than a 1911 during the warmer months and your videos on this caliber and pistol just about have me convinced. Thank you very much for your time and effort

  • Nice quality to your videos. Thanks for your help.

  • Good deal getting the barrel conversion!

I have a 9mm conversion for my 27 and it works great! Drop in the barrel, load up your .40 mags with 9mm and your off! All told, it saves me an average of $5-10 a box on ammo!

  • the SIG P229 and P250 in .357 are also the standard sidearm of the US Air Marshals

  • The pistol cycles harder durring firing than your slide slam, it wont hurt your gun.

    .

  • hav u had any probs. with the G32 Mags? Thanks!

  • @WolfClan76

No problems with the mags, using either .357 SIG for .40 ammo.

  • Information good

  • У нас в европе запрещено огнестрельное оружие

  • It's a good round used by the secret service, VA state police, TX highway patrol ,KY highway patrol and NC highway patrol. It's pretty expensive but easier to get than 45gap.

  • why would you say that most people dont like the .357 sig round? is it not the highest velocity shooting round for a high capacity handgun

  • where can i buy a glock31 or a g32 at.

  • Great review, thanks a lot! I’m considering picking one of these up to add to the collection, what would you say the availability of .357 SIG ammunition is compared to say, .460 Rowland?

  • @WOAHthatwascool

Not that I shop for .460 Rowland, but .357 SIG is usually available at my local dealers. Speer and Hornady are the most popular brands in stock.

  • TNOUTDOORS9 IS A TRUE PATRIOT! nice review!

  • love the vid i own every caliber but the .357 sig going to buy it asap even mite sell my 9mm

  • 96 degrees there ?!! ....Id sweat my *ss of and would have 2 shoot commando.

  • man, at the start of the video. I have no understanding why no one would disprove what you did when you let go of the slide. The slide only locks the striker in place and well the slide goes forward anyways and locks itself in place. I have no idea why anyone would dislike that.

Anyways man, if a gun can't handle the stress, it shouldn't be made anyways man.

  • press 1 lol

  • Nice video!! We're heading out today to try our new Glock 32 with the aftermarket Glock 17 mag for 9mm.

  • y dnt ppl lik it when u use the slide release on a glock?

  • I wish ammo in 357 Sig was more available, I like this caliber !

For ammo's sake im probably going to go with the Glock 17 and Glock 30 !

Plenty of 9mm and 45 ACP around !

  • my dads duty carry is a 357 sig, he used to have a 9mm sig p226 before the change

  • That seems like a mean ass caliber ! Im really considering this gun the Glock 32.

Ammo isn't so abundant around here but at least the ammo my local store carries for it is decent, Federal HST 125 gr. JHP !

  • could you record some footage shooting this 3.57 at night with the pov?

  • @DarkExecutor

Good idea! I've been thinking about a muzzle flash video.

  • I love the .357 calibers , but be advised they are loud and without ear protection your ears will ring.

  • Professionally done and much appreciated.

    Thanks.

  • Any updates for the G32?

I think I want this for outdoors carry use, but id like your final input on recoil, accuracy etc. first.

    Thanks for your videos.

  • @yeeeeeehaw

I'm still going through target practice. Most recent range session was a week ago, and I am more accurate with the G23 setup and 180 gr than the G32 and 125 gr. Distances on that was 40 feet or so. Recoil seems to be slightly LESS with the G32, however, I am leaning toward the G23 setup for carry. Nothing against the .357 SIG regarding performance. My decision is more along the line of ammo availability. For .357 SIG outdoors carry, I would go with 140 gr FMJ...those are HOT.

  • So is a .357 a "Hot 9mm load"? I know you talked about the .357 and how it was born from a 357 but why people call it a 9mm?

  • @josh1303

Essentially, yes. Uses the same diameter bullets, but 125 gr compared to 124 gr in 9mm (although there are some 124 gr .357 SIG loads); also 147 gr. At least in the Gold Dot, the bullet design is different compared to 9mm. The .357 Magnum has a proven street record; this semi-auto version is an attempt to replicate short-barrel performance. The 9mm is maxed out in +P+ loads; only so much you can do with that case size.

  • Could you do a review on the Gen 4 Glocks vs the Gen 3. I've handled the Gen 4 and shot it, the recoil whipped up and to the left, but not with my Gen 3s.

Lastly, the reliability and accuracy when swapping barrels hasn't been good in my experience, share yours as well please.

  • Is the Glock 32 your favorite Glock now? LOL it must be if it's your channel's background. Oh well the Glock 19 had its 15 minutes of fame now its the 32... LOL

  • @TACTICALCHICKENSTRIP

Just spreading around the fun. I'll be spending more time with the G32/G23 setup over the next few weeks as I contemplate switching my EDC. There is always the chance I'll keep the G19 on the hip.

  • @tnoutdoors9 Don't get seduced by the dark side (aka the .40S&W).

  • your really good with that 357. the view from behind the tripod was really awesome. thank you,

  • 0:40 put the rear sight on the edge of the table and push down. hahaha

  • Where did you get the 32 with the rought texture frame?

  • @zachrcollins

Special order through a dealer, which any FFL should be able to accomplish.

  • @zachrcollins

Gen4 glock is like that now, I believe.

  • AWESOME video man! :) The part with you aiming through your viewfinder at 04:48 was BRILLIANT! Great job man.

  • great vid , Thanks.

  • Very such a gun I am [ gun ] a Japanese gun maniac is respected(*゚ー゚)v

  • any .357 sig talon tests in the near future?

  • The Texas Dept. of Public Safety (Texas Highway Patrol) became the first state agency to field this caliber back in 1995, a year after it was developed. The carry the Sig P226 DAK

  • Expensive ammo there! So im happy to watch you shoot it and excited to see the testing

  • Many people says that pushing the slide release button is bad for the correct functioning of the slide, but I dont see how it can be bad, if they put it in there is so people can use it, so, any reasonable answer to that would be aprecciated haha

  • @DarkExecutor I believe it is the metal to metal contact, meaning when you drop the slide it hits the metal hard, with a round in the chamber, the round acts like a buffer. So loaded it isn't bad, but unloaded it just creates un-needed stress on the gun. From what I have been told.

  • @whosthere1 I see, that makes some sense I guess, thanks

  • Thanks for this awesome review, I never saw this piece in action and I think it's pretty good, I also like the fact that is the same size than the 19, which is my all time favorite handgun. Have a question, any big difference between this one and the glock 23? in terms of recoil and precision? and btw, why do u say that ppl won't like to see you pushing the slide release button? is funny cuz I love pushing it too but my friend (the owner of the gun) doesn't like it either haha :P

  • I like the properties of this round, but unfortunately I see it going the way of the 10 mm.

  • I have been a big proponent of this caliber and platform combination for a long time. Can't wait to see the video on the sim test with the 125 gr GDHP! I'm sure I'm not alone in this opinion.

  • Pretty cool. How does Bigfoot feel about the recoil of the .357 sig?

  • what would be cool to see is somone make a 45 case necked down to 40. 40sig

  • @MrROTTENJUGGALO Sounds like it would have the same energy of a 10mm which is the full powered version of the .40 S&W (10mm short).

  • @MrROTTENJUGGALO

Somebody sorta did back in the 80's. It was the 41 Action Express or 41 Corbon I think.

  • Loves me some .357 Sig. I have the M&Pc version myself. Just shot my first IDPA match w/ it over the Labor Day weekend. Vid goin' up soon. I like the flat trajectory of the round, combined w/ the awesome amount of energy. Higher than 45, 9mm (even +P+) and .40. Some folks think it is a waste, but w/ over 23 PD & Gov. agencies using it including Secret Service (as you mentioned), Federal Air Marshals, Many Highway Patrol & Sheriff departments. I figure I am not doin' too bad by owning it myself.

  • I love shooting the .357 SIG in my G22. I use a drop-in Storm Lake barrel and my favorite fun load is Double Tap FMJ pushing 1500 fps.

Everyone has a big grin after shooting it. Thanks for the video!

  • Love my Glock 31 and 32 good job on the review.

  • ok 2 things why do glock peps not like the slide release you did at the begining of the vid ? the M&P's do the slide all by themselves when you slamb the clip in. i was a glock fan till i got my M&P's 9mm and 40. and i will be getting a .357 sig barrel soon, second thing i do alot of reloading and i thought i could reneck 40's for the .357 but they are not the same size from what i have read. the 40s are just a hair too short to be made into .357 sigs

  • @budweiser45331 Because it is not a slide release it is a slide stop. It was not designed to release the slide the Glock manuel says to use the slingshot method to reload.

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for your coverage of the g32. Of all my Glocks, it is my absolute favorite.

  • I hear the secret service carry 5.7mm

  • another great educational video...your a great asset to the gun community on youtube and one of my favorite to watch..thanks for the awesome videos!

  • let me ask you can i use 357 sig barrel for my glock 23 ??

  • awesome video very informative!

  • Is Hickok still locked up in that shed back there? lol

  • @jamesjr934

Yeah, probably with his face buried in a Victoria's Secret catalog. He's still a good employee nonetheless.

  • wow. you just made my day! thanks! i've really been waiting for some ballistics on this round, i cant wait to see the results, it'll really help me decide on what i wanna buy next!

  • I don't know if I'm late on this, but...I really don't see the problem with letting the slide drop like that. I mean, the gun comes with a slide release lever. AND...what do you think happens when you're shooting the gun...? That being said, I have NO issues with letting the slide drop on my glock nor do I have any problems with my glock. :)

Great videos Mr. 9. Thank you for all the hard work you do.

  • Thanks for making these videos long follower and subscriber just thought I say it. It's easy to take what you doing for granted.

  • I look forward to seeing more with the new purchase.

  • Awesome! I'm looking forward to your future projects w/this firearm. I own a G32, but unfortunately, it ends up sitting in the safe on most occasions.

  • you need to change your name to TNGLock lol

  • Did this model have the updated recoil spring that come in the Gen 4 models?

  • I've been intrigued by this caliber and pistol for a long time. I've shot both the Glock 17 and 22 and find the recoil very similar regardless of the loads I use. Both kick way less than my 44 mag with 300gr bullets. Have you tried the isoceles stance? I used to use the weaver like you demonstrate but switched last year and have had better results. Locking out the elbows really helps control. Thanks for the review.

  • @MrTaco250

I use the Isoceles every once in awhile, more often off camera. I really need to practice the isoceles on a more frequent basis, and show that in the videos. Videos such as this one are essentially some of my practice sessions.

  • @tnoutdoors9 I don't know if you can remember what the recoil was like on your old 357 sig, but if you can, has the new G4 spring reduced the recoil?

  • @MrTaco250

I have been a big proponent of the .357 sig, in this model, for a long time. I can't wait to see the 125 gr GDHP sim test video!

  • Thanks for listening to request and buying an expensive test round,I know it is one of the more expensive rounds out there. And thanks for hi-res vids.

  • Very cool video to see. I've been following the .357Sig for about a year now, looking all over the interwebs for some decent videos/reviews. This is easily one of the most comprehensive first looks. I planned on buying a G32 or 33 a few months ago, but instead opted for a G26 because of the possibilities of +P and +P+ rounds. However, this is next on my life. Looking forward to seeing some ammo tests!

  • The only downside the RTF2 is that it will give you "road rash" when you conceal carry it. At least it does me. I carry a RTF2 G19 in a crossbreed and I had to take some sandpaper to the side that rubbed against my waist, problem solved. I will say that although .357 sig is not a really popular round I see it on the self all the time in my area, both in practice and SD ammo.

  • Looking forward to the ballistics test.

  • this is an RTF2 gen3 right? does a gen4 g33 exist yet in the glock family?

  • nice round, but expensive, i'll stick with 9mm, same diameter, how deep do you need a wound channel to be? Glock, bless their souls for being creative.

  • @mrbadx19 glock is just along with the ride with sig on the driver seat (hence the sig in 357sig). bless them for being willing participants to many of the less popular calibers. probably none less popular than their very own 45gap :p

  • @shtfgear that's one caliber i have yet to own, the .45, glock is an innovator in many ways, the .45gap is one. my carry guns are smaller kel-tecs, pocket deals, 8 ounces loaded, was thinking about a glock 26 or a 17L for a "house gun" to replace my S&W 915. wonder if glock will ever make a pocket .32ACP...

  • @mrbadx19 glock makes a g28 subcompact chambered in 380 but it is not available in the US. at least not that i know of. doubt a 32acp will ever be made though.

  • I,m glad you can take a joke. What do you like about this cartridge?

  • Thumbs up for the RTF. I have the G22 RTF and I LOVE IT!!!

  • Hey TN try to test some Bonded rounds in this calliber Federal Winchester Remington Golden Sabre all in Bonded 125 gr!

  • Can't wait for the sim test! Hopefully that is your next video update! I've had a .357 barrel for my P229 for over a year but still haven't sent rounds down range. I really wish the ammo price was cheaper, that's the only thing holding me back. I paid about $25 for WWB white box a year ago..I know I can get it cheaper now, but it is still pricey.

  • If the ARMY goes .357 sig it will become popular lol

  • Good vid. I recently got a .357 sig barrel for my P229. Expensive shooting though.

  • The Gen 4 glock has the double recoil sprint as most of us may know.... A Glock 23 with a .357 barrel would have been my choice because it would have less recoil IMHO..... not saying your choice was bad but just throwing another option out there.

  • whats so bad about releasing the slide on an empty chamber???

  • Bravo ! I have waited for you to do some 357 SIG items. It is my favorite cartridge and I have a Glock / XD/ and M and P. No trouble with recoil.

Please test Gold dot/ Hornady at least. Also can find Federal. I even have some Golden Saber bonded I could send you--if you are interested. Thanks again, we enjoy your work.

  • almost bought one myself, ended up with the 21sf. Your right about no ballistic gel type videos I usually research my purchases alot before I buy. I never saw any. that's why I went with the .45. Everybody knows what they can do. Great review.

  • please help..i will buy one glock, but i dont know witch. 9mm or ,357 sig .. i need that for home defense and shooting on target. what do you think?

  • So looking forward to a sim test ... Ah finally Ty Ty

  • Great video on the Glock 32. I have been curious about the .357 Sig caliber for a sometime. I understood that it is a necked down .40 S&W but being able to drop in a .40 barrel in the Glock 32 is a bonus. So, it is right there in between the 9mm and a .40 S&W.?? Ok, you have me wanting to try the Glock 32 now. Hope to see more of this gun in your videos.

  • If you like 357 sig look up 9x25 dillon.....its a 10mm necked to 9mm.....90gr bullet is going almost 2000 fps....i have a wolf barrel for my glock 20 10mm.....its a great round....love your vids thanks

  • Tip:

Please paint your steel targets before doing each new video so we can see where your shots are hitting.

    Thanks.

  • @MamoDad

Every target had a fresh coat of paint, hits don't show up well on some colors and at longer distances, lighting, etc. If you are viewing on a phone, it is nearly impossible to see the details, and that is with me cranking out some of the best resolution on YouTube.

  • @MamoDad Tip: Don't bitch about something you're not paying for!

  • @4DT44

Thanks! I had several smartass responses in mind myself but decided to be nice for a few hours.

  • @MamoDad Could you be anymore of a condescending twat?

  • .357 sig was for u.s air marshals so they didnt penetrate through air plane seats but strong enough to stop a dumb ass

  • @c619cuesta I highly doubt that. just about any handgun caliber can easily pass through those thin seats. Hell I'm wondering if it can pass through the cabin walls.

  • @Composer1777 The same could be argued with .40. .357 SIG is just another option out there. I love the ballistics of the round, with a decent weight bullet at high for pistol velocities. Wait and see some ammo tests before you write it off completely.

  • @rifleslol Had .357 SIG come first, .40 S&W very well may have been in the position .357 SIG is in today, i.e. the more expensive/less popular of the two. With the price difference, though, the .357 SIG is kind of hard to justify when you can get light/hot .40 rounds to almost the same velocities. Neat concept though, and the reliable feeding of the necked cartridge is a plus. Sorta like a 7.62x25 on steroids.

  • A for effort.

  • I didn't know they made a G32 RTF2, congrats!

  • @lHustonProductionsl

10mm is requested most after .357 SIG, but I'm not seeing that option for a long time, if at all.

  • is that a gen 4 like the texture

  • @jmmurdy

Gen 3. When I ordered it through an FFL, I specifically requested NOT to get a Gen 4.

  • @tnoutdoors9 I thought the RTF models all had the crescent serrations on the slide? Did they do away with those?

  • nice video....but still stuck on 45 9mm

  • Cool gun . like the option of shooting .357 or just dropping a .40 barrel . more ammo choices is a great choice .

  • ★★★★★

I'm considering buying a .357 Sig Barrel for my Glock 22.

  • Good shooting, bro. Tame that .357 Sig! I can tell your grip is strong on that RTF.

  • 9mm ftw

  • If you have a G22 40S&W, can you drop in a 357 sig barrel ? or do you need a conversion barrel ?

  • @georgiacatweazle

Get the barrel for the G31 and let it rip.

  • AWESOME, 357 SIG TESTS!! will be amazingly helpful. thx tn

  • A lot of FEDS carry the .357 SIG, It out performs the 9mm by far and even the 40, from what the guys tell me at Homeland Security in all the FBI testing, but when I ask them do they like it, they (most all) tell me they would rather be allowed to carry a .45 1911 or a .45. in SIG or Glock. Hmmm? Still its a cool round and goes to show if Coonan could have made it thru the wonder nine years would 357 still rule like it did in the revolver days??. Looking forward to some sim test and general vid

  • Now that is a nice gun. Really like the caliber.

  • well here in North Carolina the local state troopers use the 357 sig in their service pistol which i believe is the s&w m&p357

  • @kingd3001 As do Virginia Troopers here, I would not blame them switching to the 10mm

  • Love it,, O and thanks for making the video,I know i bugged you about it... my first shooting of it was ,,,,Wow...... that has some kick but now that I've put about 200 rounds through it I'm getting use to it and my grouping is getting better. Its funny right after you shoot the G32 go and pick up the G19 and fire 15 rds, it will feels like a .22 pistol. LOL....thanks again, Mr. Bill, FL

  • Great video. Thanks for posting. Can't wait to see the ballistic gel test. This is how youtube gun reviews should be done. Clean simple informative high def format.

  • Glad to see you finally got it!

  • GREAT REVIEW bro !!! THANKS !!!

  • I really want a 357 sig pistol !!!

  • awesome vid i have the reverse set up i have the block 23 with a 357 sig barrel and i love it keep up the awesome vids

  • Awesome. I just bought a new 3rd gen 32. So this will help on ammo selection

  • I love this cartridge, but the factory loads are anemic--they don't even begin to approach what this round is capable of. On the other hand, load your own and you can break 1,400 FPS with a 125 gr. bullet no problem. That's not even pushing it. Now if that's not a good reason to start reloading, I don't know what is!

  • The temperature at 12:27 was 28,2 degrees C? So about 83F? Wheew, and I bet it's pretty humid too. The gun laws really make up for that, I'm sure. Greetings from the Netherlands.

  • Air Marshalls use it also as far as I know.

  • @Ironmaiden666trp Also the Secret Service. But both use Sig pistols.

  • You don't need different mags for .357 sig and .40 s&w.

  • Hey TNOD9 ... I just want to say "Thank You" for all the videos you post. You are a Great American !

  • Eagerly awaiting the 357 Gold Dot test vid

  • You are the most scientific hillbilly i've ever seen.

  • @Mike2020mike2020

I WAS wearing bib overalls and cleaning my ears with my car keys when they handed me a diploma!

  • @tnoutdoors9

I am a noob, can someone explain why Glock "Purists" dont like releasing the slide with the slide release button?

  • @surfboardhacker

Duly noted and a good response is posted below from MThrow, one of the first comments.

  • @surfboardhacker Because it isnt a slide release and we never designed to be use as such. It is called a slide stop. According to Glock and the manual you are supposed to reload ur weapon by useing the slingshot method.

  • @Lord666Belial

Understood. Thanks guys! Learned something new today!

  • @Mike2020mike2020 pleaseeee do a vid on the 454 cassull round thank u

  • I would like to see a direct comparison between the Winchester Ranger +p+ 9mm and .357 SIG loads. I'm predicting very little difference in terminal ballistics given only 100fps difference in the loads.

Cost difference between plinking loads in the two calibers though is huge!

  • @IlliniEnginerd21

The potential for comparative videos between the .357 SIG and 9mm, or even .40, is extensive. I have already given that some thought regarding structure, while trying to avoid making a video that you can watch while drinking an entire pot of coffee.

Interesting that you mentioned the Ranger 9mm +P+, as that ammo test is next in line. Plinking loads.....that S&B 140 gr FMJ was $26.50 for 50 rds from a local gun shop that is usually moderate to high on ammo prices.

  • Hey man quick note. My dad was issued this gun when he was a game warden. They wanted an accurate, not too heavy recoiling gun (for female shooters). They were going to go with the 9mm but since they would be dispatching wounded animals they went with this over the .40, .45, and the .9mm. It is very accurate and hard hitting. My dad almost had to shoot someone at 50 yards who was aiming at him through a high powered rifle scope. Great gun!

  • 357 sig seems like an awesome round from what i have heard. only reason i havent gotten one in the past is because the target ammo isnt usually very cheap, however looking online it seems its gotten a bit better. its only $20 for a box of 50 where i buy ammo at.

  • I must not be signed up for "the newsletter" -- apparently the .357 Sig is the load of the month, and no one notified me!

Seriously, this is about the 5th video I've seen touting the 357 in the past couple days. Very stwange....

  • @jpm1211

That could be a bad thing, as in, what little ammo is out there will be gone! On the other hand, if we can increase demand, perhaps the ammo makers will increase supply....and drop the prices. It's all about moving inventory.

  • @tnoutdoors9 Absolutely, I'm ordering a drop in barrel for my Glock 22 right away! I just listened to Massad Ayoob on the ProArms podcast talking about the 357, and it's now #6 on the top selling calibers -- presumably thanks to lots of law enforcement agencies and their bulk orders. As you say, hopefully the mfrs will get tooled up and start rolling it off the lines. Thanks for the video, and can't wait for the testing vid! Stay cool down there...

  • Excellent video! I have considered the G32 for some time. I may have to jump.

  • people that don't like the 357 sig round are crazy. The ballistics are off the chart. The secret service would not have chosen this caliber if they were not completely convinced of its effectiveness. Love this caliber.

  • NICE. im looking forward to the gel tests!... i am really interested to see how they do...

  • That should have said sucks for concealed carry because the are like 60 grit sandpaper

  • I think you have convinced me to get a g32 bbl for my 23 rtf like yours there. You will find that rtf sucks I had to just slightly file some of the spikes on mine down. Nice gun I like the 357 sig.

  • I'm betting the reason the recoil feels like it is between a 9mm and a hot 40 is because a lot of those velocities and be gotten from 9mm +P loads. Like the 140gr at 1250 fps. That is right at the top of the 9mm non +P load range. (Well depending on powder choice of course) And the 125gr at 1350 would be a pretty hot 9. It seems to me that pretty warm 9's are about standard 40cal according to number crunching that is..

  • Definitely looking forward to your .357sig ballistics tests. :D

  • Thank You so much for the much needed 357sig test and review in HD. @*holds thumbs way up* Looking forward to gel test....love those hot ones....;)

  • Great video! glock 19 Rocks!

  • you sir are a damn good shooter! respect :-)
