I love this song. Like all great pop songs it captures the essence of an emotional experience perfectly. I think even the weird low-fi production is right. You could make a cleaner, punchier, catchier version, and it might even have been a hit, but it wouldn't have communicated the feeling as well.
I love this song. Its perfect, music doesnt get much better than this.Im completely new to this band so idk how much ill like of their other stuff yet,but the first song i hear from them I love.I like pretty much all types of music but i mostly listen to metal so finding a song in a different genre of music I love just adds to my music catalogue and I appreciate more.
@Ieatbabyseals Some people have said it sucks... but it doesn't... its amazing. As another one of their songs says
"You won't be happy with me,
But give me one more chance
You won't be happy anyway"
Cos mate, thats as bad as it gets. I once said to a young lass... the only girl I've ever loved... "I'd rather be miserable with you, than miserable without you."
One day you'll get there, and it'll be wonderful, but that doesn't mean it'll be ideal.
@Ieatbabyseals Thats a good thing.Loving someone and being in love is different. Loving someone is caring for them and it is a possitive thing for you and the person you love.Being in love is a sickness that will and up hurting you in the end.If your rejected by someone your in love with its worse then facing your own mortality.Its worse then death.Death destroys you but being rejected by someone your madly in love with destroys everything you were.It destroys your world and the way you see it.
Started listening to The Magnetic Fields thanks to Scrubs, this is my fav song now

Is it me, or does the opening sound almost identical to the opening of "And then he kissed me" by the Crystals?

@skybreaker09 You've got a good point there. Have to agree with you.

@skybreaker09 I read that it was intentional. That actually introduced me to the Crystals song.

The saddest story ever told is that most Magnetic Fields fans only know 69 songs and ignore these wonderful first records

@tmonster88 Who?
l33tmaster104 10 months ago 4
@tmonster88 No, but I heard "Why I cry", which he was doing with Daniel Handler.
In other news, why is there no comments from the same month? this video must be more popular than THAT.

These songs always make me sad cause I've never even gotten to fall in love and be rejected. I've never fallen in love.
