  • I get they didn't want it to be a clone but they gave up every thing that makes the show what it is. It lacks every thing good that both old series has and only has to offer a bunch of moning whiny bitches who want to talk about their feelings all day instead of kicking some alien but, if I wanted to watch that I would go watch days of our lives with my girlfriend infact anyone who likes this show should go watch that show and post comments on how good that show is instead because this showBlows

  • I agree this show blows balls. They took one of the best scifi series out there and turned it into a boring sappy soap opera that makes me want to comfit suicide from boredom.

  • @pardusian141 are you retarded or something? SG-1 was a masterpiece, it had alien villians like Anubis. What the hell did SGU have? Lesbians and bullshit with no action? What humour did it have? That fat boy running around in a t shirt with his tits flying about with no life support? I hope the Ori burn your sorry ass! I hope that shit burns in a supernova along with you morons.

  • Watched the first few episodes, never appealed to me.

  • Are you joking? SGU had tons of action and humor. Most of the humor was a different kind of humor. SG-1 was decent, SGA was horrible but SGU was a masterpiece.

Season 1 started off slow and I admit they could have put more in those episodes if they had removed some of those scences showing nothing. I would have prefered more looks on the outside of the ship.

Season 2.0 picked up and introduced things rapidly. 2.5....well, just say that I cant express words as it was so awsome.

  • I don't like stargate at all I have no respect for the series because stargate is just a big ripoff of star trek.

  • @Dimitri0809 Really? because stargate and star trek have nothing in common, other that the fact that they are both part of the scifi genre and they both have star in the name. Seriously, I challenge you to further articulate how SG1 and SGA were ripoffs of star trek.

  • Well I love SG-1 but for me SGU had a potential to become a much more superior show. Like you complain it has no humor:

    a) It doesent need to. It's optional to have humor or to be very serious.

    b) It had humor.

And personaly I like the drama. The guys in SG-1 had stereotypical protagonists, that diddnt seem authentic. And SGU I loved how characters respond different to the problems, SG-1 characters shared the same viewpoint. I just can't see why drama and a more serious aproach makes SGU bad.

  • Yes! Someone else that believe that this was worst of SG, I found it loathingly boring and predictable. I understand that they went for emotional/ drama but it was just so in interesting and nothing but crying

  • Season 1, not great

    Season 2, much better

    Season 3, oh...wait...nm

  • I'm a SG fan since the original movie... I thought SGU was pretty awesome for what it was. I dont know why some people would rant about it. I rather find all that is good, great, and awesome about a show than to be b*tching about it. But then you find that type putting down BSG (GINO) or stations ending great shows (firefly) before they even had a chance.

  • i agree

  • @JACKSPADE100 So, you're saying that it would have been better to make another spin off?

I don't find that idea that good.

  • @JACKSPADE100 Now, with all honestly, neither SGU o SGA deserved those cancellations, just look, Sy Fy cancels sci fi shows, for what? MORE BRAWLING AND WWE, AND A COOKING SHOW.

    Great!

  • @JACKSPADE100 Thanks to you, and all the others fanboys, the franchise is over ( For a while)

And if it's like that, you're more pathetic than me.

  • @JACKSPADE100 Just kept watching the series because of Mckay.

  • @JACKSPADE100 I feel sorry for those who actually kept watching SGA after season 2.

  • @JACKSPADE100 Your argument is invalid, sir.

  • @JACKSPADE100 And I like pancakes, like, A LOT.

  • SGU is a biiig bulshit , the ones who like it are probably new to the sci-fi gendre or new to stargate series. SG1 and SGA had that spark ...that awesomnes of funny moments and cool characters ...where if somone died or smth hapends , you actualy feel sorry for to not see in the other episodes. It had that awesome exploring . In SGU is only that bulshit drama between them and the planet earth. I stoped watching after 20 episodes or more. They shouldv continued SGA and not start SGU , BIG BIG FAIL.

  • The show is great, old fanboys just destroyed it.

  • @JACKSPADE100 Glad you not the leader of SGU then. Honestly think about it. You think being stuck on ship million light years away from home is all flowers and sugar. The group on that ship was never meant to be there and its logical that there is some tension between them, but throughout the show you see the characters getting closer to each other and developing some loyalty. The end of season 2 shows them sitting together at the table and it shows that they are sort of family despite their di

  • I love all the Stargate series Except Stargate Universe im glad its dead now.

  • It does bother me why people decide to hate on such a great show. I like the other Stargate shows, but ugh some of the cast is a little stiff. I personally think the drama in SGU is better than BSG. That's despite the fact that I like BSG better. Why is it emo to display a little emotion. I get it, we should all just be shallow and morally superior like the cast of SG1. ugh. Stargate Atlantis is my favorite though and I think its a series which has found a fine balance between drama an being fun

  • @Manlyman47 I actually highly respect you opinion. I understand where youre coming from. But..I guess from my perspective, I like SG1 because it gives me someone to look up to. I try to look up to SG characters and I guess SGU just brought my thought of SG down.

  • you have no antikipation! stargate universe is o much more than your life

your an boring nasty nerd who is sitting all the day behind his computer

  • @xxxFunkmanxxx I'm proud to be a nerd. Especially a female one. I don't need to call others nerds to help my self esteem.

  • @xxxFunkmanxxx It better to be a boring nasty nerd then be a a total freakin idiot.

  • @whitehat237 What a mature and sensible comment. You've clearly proven that your morally and intellectually superior to the poster. Not.

  • Actual what is sad is that so many people watch crap shows like SGU that they forget what good Scifi TV is all about. Hint it has nothing to do with over dramatised soap opera plots, teenagers with social problems or unnecessary sex scenes. It has everything to do with good story, great characters, awesome visuals, and episodes to inspire us to achieve what seems impossible .

  • As sad as I am by SGU's cancellation, I even find myself more saddened by the fact that the average TV viewer is so dimwitted that they don't even know what a great show is. I won't even waste my time trying to explain this to some of them - can't fix stupid.

  • The plot was too Star Trek Voyager for my tastes...Only instead of Jeri Ryan(technical genius) in a skin tight suit we're treated to seeing Eli (technical genius) run around with his man tits flopping to-and-fro...Really not something I needed to see.

  • @campbema10 There also a lot of people who watched SG1 and SGA who did not like SGU. And if SGU had indeed had the best acting and been the future of SciFi , it would not have gotten bad ratings and a lot more people would have liked. Just you find something the best thing the world has ever seen, doesn't make it a universal truth.

  • You are going to die someday... it's not a threat it's a fact... I don't know how or when it will happen, but I grantee it will, I hope it will be painful, (if not I might have to raise you from the dead just to kill you again a lot more painfully... oh a lot more painfully) The one thing I can tell ya, is that the last thing you'll ever see is my face laughing at you... and that goes for all Stargate haters.

  • @AngelSongLJ

I find your name very ironic. I'm not sure if you've noticed but the people at SGUsucks are huge stargate fans. We just disagree with the direction that Stargate went and if you feel that justifies what you just said then I think you evaluate your morals.

  • @OCtrackiepac Ironic that the group who lionized SGU and themselves as "Intelligent" and "Mature" fans stoop to name-calling and death threats over a show, isn't it?

  • @Nightmaretheclown2 Indeed, very enlightening.

  • @campbema10 I'm worried about the future of Scifi if that was it....

BTW it wasn't US that killed SGU. It was the fact that the ratings sucked because fans didn't like it. I would know because at SG conventions everyone was saying...ugh, I don't really watch SGU and even when it came to the trivia contest...people were shouting No SGU questions!

  • I cant belive it really is canceled.... I want to thank to all the whiners (who called themselfs "Stargate fans") who made this possible by overcomplaining... thank to all, for crying to the limits and leaving the true stargate fans with No Stargate show what so ever...

  • @zalez1 I'd rather have no Stargate show, then an angsty BSG remake.

  • @thomaseshuis Wow! thats nice! assholes like you are responsible for canceling shows may be other True Fans Like to watch, I dont like "Lost", so I dont watch Lost, I dont trash it to lower its rating until the cancellation of the show, and Now we TRUE STARGATE FANS dont have a STARGATE show to watch. Fucking Over Complaining nerds....

  • @gabriel2034 I refer you to me response to Lastthief's statement.

  • @thomaseshuis Im kind of agreed with these guys, now we will never know what happened with the luccian alliance attack on earth, Thanks alot Crying Virgin Nerds!

  • @Lastthief Your mature response shows your capacity to have an intellectual discussion about this topic. Therefore I will refrain from entertaining such a debate with you.

  • @thomaseshuis Awwwwwwww the crying virgin nerd got offended?? please be offended, it amuses me, oh and one little tip, get laid, it will change your life

  • @Lastthief Having sex, regardless whether or not for the first time, will not change my opinion about SGU. Nor will it change the fact that its a matter of ratings or finance for a show to be cancelled.

  • Just like to say I concur with this video and I'm so glad that cringe-inducing failed attempt at BSG is off the air. :/

  • @JeremyC7595 They have as much a right to voice/post their opinion as you or other fans of SGU have. If you can't stand negative responses on things you like I would recommend not viewing you tube, since you're likely to run into at least one negative response per clip. I wish you a fruitful life and good day sir.

  • @JeremyC7595 P.s. Calling people names does not help your argument but rather makes it weak. And why should people lie about how they feel about a series, so there might possibly be a continuation of another series. That's a bit ludicrous.

  • @JeremyC7595 People can complain all they want, as long as enough people keep watching the show, it will generate sufficient money to keep airing it. The loudest groups is not always, dare I say most times, the majority. I did not say that it is exclusively your fault that the series is cancelled, I'm just pointing out its a matter of ratings/ number of viewers and not criticism from a small group of older generation SG fans. TL:DR its more a matter of not enough viewers then complaints.

  • @JeremyC7595 The fact that SGU got cancelled means not enough people were watching it. It's all about ratings. Shows don't get cancelled because (older) fans complain, but because too few people watch it.

If anything you should blame yourself for not encouraging enough people to watch it.

  • SGU had no humor? Did you watch season 2? Ok, Season 1 wasn't that great but it wasn't terrible. I laughed my ass off at certain times.

  • If you watch SGU as it's own TV show LIKE YOU SHOULD, you would realize, it's actually epic.

  • @droodguy if I treated SGU like its own show, unrelated to SG, I would have gotten 5 minutes instead of a whole season!

  • @OCtrackiepac Give me one logical justification for that? How could you possibly know that? Shut the fuck up.

  • @droodguy how would I know I would have turned it off within 5 minutes? Because it sucks and it's canceled!

  • @OCtrackiepac Lol moron; ignorance is bliss.

  • @droodguy Nice comeback! A for effort!

  • @OCtrackiepac lol

  • @droodguy If we should do so, they should have called it Spaceship: Destiny instead of Stargate: Universe and just make it a completely different show unrelated to Stargate. This show is a disgrace for the Stargate franchise imo.

  • @droodguy Eh, and who are you to say what anyone else *should* do? If that was the intent, then perhaps they should have not put "Stargate" in front of it. I had high hopes for the show, and have actually watched most of it, trying to find redeeming quality. I and many others found none. The direction they went was irreconcilable with the franchise, and the production team alienated the fans by actually blaming them for low ratings. Then again, it doesn't surprise me that most SGU fans love BSG.

  • drunk midget filming at its best!

  • is not a comedy if you don't like you don't watch and let others to see the show. maybe you are not so smart to understand what is behind all of these. the gouverment is preparing us to see that the sf is true.

  • @costyn2008 wtf......?

  • this video the sucks,,and you uploader :D

  • It does have humor, its just a bit different.

It has camaraderie, but not as much as in SG-1 & SGA

And the focus on characters is simply necessary for any good show.

It wouldn't be good scifi if SGU would only show a lot of gadgets and space battles and action. The new depth in story is what makes SGU my favorite of all Stargates - and I have seen all episodes/movies of all series.

  • @deyahdn3

i would love for you to show me where there is comraderie....besides Eli, who is humorous?.....

    This show is basically........Oh No...i broke a nail....my pillow is too flat.....hey...your cute...what s your name?

WE are out of oxygen !!! WE found oxygen !!! WE are out of energy !!! WE flew into a sun !!!

Eli you are SUCH a good friend...thank you for listening to me WANTING scott !!!

...A LOT of WORK !!! Yes .... this show needs A LOT of WORK !!!

  • Sounds to me like people dont like SGU simple because its not a spin off of SG-1 ( no offense to SGA awesome show)

  • Stargate Lesbianasianwomanswapsbodieswithaparaplegic is the best stargate yet.

  • when it started i kneew it would be canceld after a year or 2 they thought by telling us long time veiwers to go to hell by looking for new younger crowed.. all shows suck now every last one.. after the 90's things went to hell the moeny they were getting wasnt enough this is a case of greedy corporate people.

  • And for those of you that dont like SGU, you still need SGU if you ever want to see Atlantis movies. Canceling SGU doesnt save money, it takes money away from SGA movie production.

  • @venkuzephyr After all they've said and done, what reason do I have to believe them?

Even if they had any serious intention of doing a film (I seriously doubt this given the evidence), I wouldn't be surprised if they screwed it up by trying to make it fit into the "New direction" of SGU. *shudders at the idea*

  • The makers said that the best Stargate moments will be found in the second half of Season 2.

SyFy channel is Stupid because they have FUCKING WRESTLING. Yeah it's fake but not science fiction. Dont try to sugar it up saying that special effects make it science.

SYFY IS FOR SCIENCE FICTION, NOT FUCKING WRESTLING!!!

They need to pitch SGU to other networks like USA, FX, FOX, whatever.

My parents hated SyFy but after I showed them SGU, they loved it.

Americans love drama, and special effects.

  • Everyone thinks this series lacks story, when it is clearly character based. Honestly, Im quite sick of the last 15 years of story based stargate and its nice to have a change.

  • @dastyk1 Were you a fan of stargate in the past or did you just start with SGU? If they did a great job with a character based show I would have no problem with that. I think why I think it wasn't so good was that I felt the show jammed the characters down my throat by having a character per week (like one week it's about eli, the next, rush) and that even though I know a ton about the character, I feel no sympathy for them, even after hearing their sob story.

  • @OCtrackiepac Ive been watching it since it came out. I was only a kid but ive rewatched all the dvds since then. I could probably agree with you about the jamming of characters, but honestly who cares? I mean, theyre giving us more stargate. I think we should be happy with what were given rather than complain. Some of us here, i'd say most of us appreciate the furthuring of the Stargate story. After Atlantis shut down this could be the last Stargate we get altogether.

  • Season 1 was okay.. season 2 was like i wasnt sure if i was watching LOST space edition or beverly hills.. Reply if you comment

  • i fu kin hate u

  • YES YES YES THEY CANCLED SGU YESS!!!

  • @robothedgehog yes, yes finally. Now the idiot producers wont ever think again that they can pass bullshit garbage drama without a story script as sci fi ever again. So we wont have to devovle watching a mutated genre that it has turned into uber bullshit.

  • @MrHPsauce01 I think SGU has got some potential. Once they get full control of destiny i think it will really take off. The concept behind Destiny is pretty badass i must say. The original ship that seeded the galaxy with gates and is powered from the very stars is a really cool idea. I wanna see destiny full combat capabilities though.

  • I'm speaking for SGUS when I say 90% of the members have seen SGU. I hate when people think we haven't even watched it. Now, Some still watch it, some don't. I personally stopped at season 1.

  • @OCtrackiepac Before I saw i thougn is sucks, then i watched and I liked, of course it cant be compared with SG-1 nor Atlantis, but that new kind of SG, the SGU is like a Stargate LOST, i personaly like it, but admit that is very diferent from SG-1 and atlantis. The bad thins is MGM have financial crysis and SyFy don't get audience showing SG anymore =/

I really hate todays people that preffer things like Gilmore Girls then SG...

  • And you all will watch it anyway because its ON, and by doing so will add to the views and KEEP it on! Oh you'll SAY you won't, but you will, and you know it.

    *evil laugh* MUHAHAHAHA!

  • DOUCHE BAG CAST INDEED FUCK THIS SHOW

  • I couldn't take anymore SG1 and SGA. The dry humor, the fact that they can barely kill off a character without bringing them back in some ridiculous ascended form made it so cheesy, at least in SGU ppl actually die. Atlantis was terrible, and Ronin sucks. I think what killed it for me when it comes to SG1 were the replicators. A bunch of little mechanoid bugs terrorizing the galaxy is just fking ridiculous.

  • @UnderDawg1205 then they brought back the replicators in stargate atlantis, because the wraith weren't scaring viewers anymore, and they couldn't think of another original enemy. SGU like you said, kills people off. I actually genuinly cried when they said that Dr. Amanda Perry had died because of Eli's friend Ginn dying. that was absolutely devasting to Rush, and the brilliance of Robert Carlyle portrayed that amazingly.

  • sgu episode four view number = 0.974 people....*trys not laugh* no wonder syfy said that this may be sgu's last season XD

  • Im a huuuuuuuuuuuge fan of stargate, I would blow Jack O'neil If I could and Im straight! but I must say.... that this show has alot of potential, but they have made TERRIBLE mistakes in the plot but specialy in little tiny details! like in the Incursion episode, okk... the luccian alliance are a bunch of farmers with no technical or engeneering knowledge what so ever and they have access to practicaly ALL the goaul'd technology left behind! why they dont use it?! I mean... instead of using s-->

  • @zalez1 ----> staff weapons and Zats they "Built" with all their undeveloped farmer knowledge, a cool version of the M16 with Laser sights?! wtfff??? Oh! and I recall watching them use some kind of "flashbang" to scatter our soldiers from the doors?? how in the hell a Freaking farmer figured out how to build a flashbang?! it would have been much cooler if they've used those Goaul'd Stunning metal balls... I dont know... producers should look up for little details like those

  • Agree with alot of ppl here, the first half dozen episodes or so have been slow. Just watched ep 7 and really feel it could pick up now rush has cracked destiny's master code. hopefully the writers/producers were just trying to really build the characters before getting really into the mythology/action that everyone wants. Here's to hoping it continues like ep 7!!!!!

  • It's like this SG-1 is a New York Steak . SGA is Lobster with all the trimmings, baked potato, salad . SG-U is a greasy Pork sandwhich served in dirty ashtray.

  • @Dakers11 and they expect us to eat it with no complaints

  • i tryed to watch the ep last week...i had to change the channle 20 mins into it ....just so horrible thats why syfy has anounced that becouse SGU's ratings have been so low if this season dosnt do better than the first season of SGA did SGU will be cancled and syfy will consider bringing back a stem off of the atlantis storyline

  • It's the worst Stargate series ever!

  • SGU FAIL... bad acting, shaky camera, douche bag cast, lame plot..

Scifi really fucked the couch on this one.

  • @lucidglenhawks dude party!!! sgu has been cancled!!

  • @robothedgehog Which proves bullshit drama shit like that cant pass for sci fi and the idiots who came up with it should forget about cheappy shitty movies like that.

    yay!!

  • @lucidglenhawks bad acting? Compared to what... SG-1 and Atlantis? You're kidding, right?

  • @Erghest lol you gota be crazy to think it comes anywhere near sg-1 so...are you kiding?

  • @robothedgehog sg-1 had really mediocre acting, at best, with the exception of one or two actors like Richard Dean Anderson. The issue is that everybody in SG-1 acted like they were acting, often resulting in flat, wooden performances. With very few exceptions, SGU avoids this problem very well.

  • @Erghest. I disagree. When I saw Daniel die in season 6 I cried. even as early as season 1 when they thought he died. But, when they try to make an emotional scene in SGU and are trying to catch my sympathy. I just couldn't feel it.

  • @OCtrackiepac you personally having a reaction to an event doesn't intrinsically mean the acting was quality, or that the actors were good actors. that is a testament to a large variety of factors, not all of which are essential, and acting is only one of the factors necessary in carrying out the intended result (emotional attachment).

  • @Erghest well then, I guess it fails in both acting and/or writing then.

  • @OCtrackiepac figures you would try to misunderstand and misrepresent the matter as such: you not being attached to the characters is a sacrifice, but a necessary one; there are many that disagree with you, many that do like and are attached to the characters. it's a matter of what someone is looking for: SG-1 and Atlantis had archetypically different kinds of characters (this is enhanced partially by the fact that they were largely defined by their archetype to begin with) than SGU does.

  • @OCtrackiepac In other words, SG-1 and Atlantis had simplistic and "light" characters to go along with its tone; its characters were far more obvious and more defined by an archetypical role. Further, there were less characters which means there was no risk of archetypes bleeding over: the characters were roles with personalities glued on. In SGU, that isn't the case; role is less important, and it takes much longer to really 'tell" who someone is and to discover the depths of their personality.

  • @OCtrackiepac That kind of goes hand-in-hand with the whole "likeable characters" argument people make. Combine this with the fact that SGU is only halfway through its second season, and SG-1 was nearing the end of its fifth when they killed Daniel - a main character that had been featured prominently in nearly every episode up until then. The situations are fundamentally different and SGU has (for some people) simply not had the time to build up the necessary understanding of character.

  • @Erghest That's why I said, even as early as Fire and Water, in season 1. Nevertheless, there will always be people that agree and disagree. We just need to see how the general public feels about the show and that's what really matters when it comes down to it if the show is canceled or not....which it was....in two seasons.

  • @OCtrackiepac which is still not at all an indicator of objective quality. Besides, it was "cancelled" (that's not technically true: it was not renewed by syfy, who paid a licensing fee) because it was getting poor viewership on syfy; in canada, on SPACE, the show is doing fantastically. Its also doing comparatively well elsewhere. Robert Carlyle won an award in Canada for his performance on the show.

  • @Erghest to be quite blunt, winning an award in Canada, especially the Gemini is not an amazing feat. Carlyle is a good actor, just as you said RDA was good as well.

  • @OCtrackiepac I wasn't saying it was impressive, like if he had won an Emmy, my point was that the show was getting recognition in other parts of the world.

  • @Erghest yeah, like the country it was made in? In your credit, it was nominated for an Emmy, for VFX though.

  • @Erghest yep your defiently high cause sgu's acting was horrible XD

  • @lucidglenhawks I honestly don't get the shake camera business. is there *anyone* who actually likes it?

why is it considered good to make the viewers nausious?

also it is way too dark in this show and you can barely see anything. compare that to shows like star trek the next generation in which everything is bright and well light. it gives you a much better enjoyment to watch.

who wants to watch a show in which its dark all the time.

and most of all there's no real story!

  • @lucidglenhawks since when is shaky camera necessarily a bad thing, the cast being doughe bags or not is completely irrelevant as long at the characters that they portray arent, the plot is not lame it is basically the same as the original SGA plot, survive and find a way home.

  • @brooklyn560 "since when is shaky camera necessarily a bad thing"?

When it makes you wonder if the show was sponsored by Excedrin, that's pretty bad.

  • @Nightmaretheclown2

Exedrin? i thought the show is sponsored by GLAD? or Pepto Bismo or Clorox Toilet Bowl Cleaner..

  • I agree, SGU sucks. SG-1 and SGA where great because they actually went hand in hand together, This series feels distant and not at all part of the original series. Now if its not ment to tie in with the other two - why have cameos from SG-1 in the pilot? This makes no sense to me. I had high hopes for this season. but alas they were shattered. BRING BACK SGA!!

  • @OCtrackiepac, you're an idiot.

  • SGU isn't about "humor, action or camaraderie", it's supposed to be a stylistically and tonally different TV series with a more mature and fresh story. (From wikipedia)

The idea behind this is supposed to be a darker more mature story set in the same universe, to compare the two is to compare Toy Story to something like Donnie Darko. Sure they both have deeper meaning but they are totally different things. Watch it with fresh eyes, it's not a spin off of SG1 or SGA.

  • @101Ninjamist101 I agree that SGU isn't about humor, action etc. I welcome a new, fresh idea. This idea, I just didn't feel it made a right turn. They could have made the show darker and character based that was good and I would love SGU! Unfortunately I felt that the show's new tone wasn't done correctly. Whether this show is more mature is debatable.

  • @OCtrackiepac I see the validity in your point, SGU really cannot be for everyone, so I accept that. I thank you for the civilized tone you used in your reply by the way.

  • @101Ninjamist101 Quoting from wikipedia, a site that is edited by whoever? Quote the original source.

  • yeah dude. unfortunately, it do suck. man, you took my thoughts about it and make a video.

SGU it's just like gray's anatomy, but in space.. a very sad thing.

  • Totally agree, Universe sucked compared to Sg-1 and Atlantis!

  • Couldn´t agree more, SGU lacks everything that a good sci fi series need, Namely Humor, Action and Camaraderie

  • I can't understand Stargate lovers...these kind of peoples are searching only of big boobs...

  • What the. Haw ever seen one of the episodes. See the last episode ore the first and you will see action. Haw do you define the word ''action''

  • @chofler039 Action in every episode maybe??

  • I dont think SGU is as good as the LEGENDARY SG-1, or the EPIC STARGATE ATLANTIS. There is too much drama. I'd only watch to know all the storyline of the Stargate series.

  • I think this is all terribly childish. SG-1 and SGA will not be returning now (especially now the set pieces and stargates themselves are being sold) and I think SGU will improve further as time goes on. I respect anyone's opinion that they don't like it, but not when it gets so rabid and crude.

  • @GatewayProductions I couldnt agree more !!!!

  • @GatewayProductions "I think this is all terribly childish."

Not-so-subtlety calling anybody who doesn't like what has happened to franchise a "basement-dwelling moron who want the show to be more like something out of a Saturday morning cartoon" is pretty childish (as well as arrogant) too though, right?

  • (Continued)

So bottom line, no matter how thought out or well-written a negative review is it almost always gets lumped in with the "rabid and crude" comments.

  • @Nightmaretheclown2 A quote from a randomly selected review from SGUsucks:

"Hopefully they are all dead or soon will be so that we can put this travesty of a show behind us for good and watch as it is cancelled for shit ratings."

I'd call that fairly crude myself.

  • @GatewayProductions Brian Smith (Lt. Scott) has called us spinless retards and Joseph Mallozzi has called our site bull shit.

I'd call that fairly crude myself.

  • @OCtrackiepac I would do the same thing when a kid is criticizing your lifes work. And I could add up some other things. When a person doesnt likes a particular show, he usually doesnt watch it anymore. But creating a web page where you are criticizing it, I would call that crude.

  • @OCtrackiepac Source?

  • @01000001011100100111

Google in Brad wright's wife drama and it's the first link. Chicagonow "When my wife watches the show with me, she sees it as a drama now, not a science fiction show."

  • @OCtrackiepac I wasn't replying to that, I was replying to the the stuff BJS has supposedly said. Though before you bother finding it, I'm fairly certain that those comments were referring to were the idiots that were giving his mother abuse over the internet, not si. As for Mallozzi, your site is bullshit, difficult to argue with that statement, a site dedicated to hating a TV show? Just plain sad, even more so when you actually read some of the juvenile crap on there.

  • @01000001011100100111

Because bashing SG1/SGA (and fans who don't like the new direction) in order to prop up SGU is much more mature, correct?

  • @Nightmaretheclown2 Who's bashing SG-1 and Atlantis fans? Or fans who simply don't like the new direction? Each to their own, but when people take it upon themselves to create hate campaigns and troll every SGU board they can then that's something different, no?

  • @OCtrackiepac call it what you want Brian Smith is right. sgu brings something new , i actually like the new characters due to the fact that they can act

  • @bond5000 It's true SGU brings something new. The debate is whether or not it's a good thing. I have disagree that the acting is better though. Though there are many talented cast members, I don't feel like it was brought out in SGU.

  • @GatewayProductions Yes SGU Sucks.

  • @Nightmaretheclown2 No, I don't think so really. I didn't mention basements or cartoons, I mean their behavour. Look at SGUsuck.com for instance, they have reviews of episodes which is fair enough, but they are dreadfully bias. Even for a hate-site (which is essentially what it is), those reviews don't acknowledge the positives in the show (superior set design, graphics, etc), nor are positive external reviews linked on it. I honestly accept anyone's opinion so long as it is maturely argued.

  • @GatewayProductions "I respect anyone's opinion that they don't like it, but not when it gets so rabid and crude."

That's all nice and good, but most of the time, from what I have observed, any blog or review site that gives a less than glowing praise of SGU, usually ends up getting slammed in the feedback area with comments that usually have a "there's nothing wrong with the show, you're just too stupid to get it!" tone to them.

  • @Nightmaretheclown2 And what they say is equally rabid and crude. But there are fans of SGU out there, who genuinely enjoy the show for it's qualities and sensibly try and argue for it. I don't mind Stargate Universe, but I'm not really a big supporter. Nevertheless it isn't 'Battlegate 91201' or whatever. It is no SG-1 or Atlantis, but Atlantis went out on a high, SG-1 has had it's time (although THAT show's third movie I would have liked to see). This is just a new take for the franchise.

  • Nice video and good points! SGU has nothing of what made Stargate so great and popular.

  • TOTALY AGREE !!!! No more humour, no more camaraderie, as you say....No more Stargate !

  • I don't know if any of you have actually watched SGU, because its the best of all three. Atlantis was brilliant for the 1st season, then it just got rediculous. then they made the amazing episode: sunday, killing beckett, then they found a clone and brought the character back. seriously! SG-1 was phenominal, then the best thing about it left, and they still carried on. SGU lives up to the original film, its gritty, dangerous, emotional, unforgiving, yet still hopeful, in other words, real.

  • @MrHPsauce01 V- it fails kid it's been called a loss by syfy's presitend and his words " this will most likely be SGU's final season if financial events do not improve for MGM"

  • @robothedgehog. first off im not a kid, so dont be patronising. secondly, i grew up with stargate so i am extremely well informed about the quality of each show and each episode, and thirdly, i wasn't talking about how many people that choose not to watch it, or the ratings or the financial situation. im talking about the quality, which sgu is.

  • @MrHPsauce01 so did i and dose that make you an expert in sg shows? no your just a fan so get over it sorry to burst your sgu fairy dream buble but MGM and SYFY have both called the series a loss its costing more to make than what they recive it isnt good quality many of the members of SYFY's board have already jokingly publicly stated this =3 look it up

  • @MrHPsauce01 yet It's not Stargate anymore, just the name not the spirit

  • SG-U is nothing more than a remake of Battlestar Galactica with a Stargate veneer..a soap opera

  • Once agian

while i can respect your points i dont agrre with then

i happen to really love the shows slow going and murky pace

gives everyone time to get a feel for the characters and the stage its placed on

remeber all the writers wanted to take the stargate franchise to a new place

i think the main problem is that it is so different from what were used to

with SG1 and SGA we were thrust into a fully devloped universe

with SGU weve got to start all over with new people and a new feel

  • its ok show, but the other two are better

  • SGU is good not as good as the first two but I think it needs to develop a bit more. I also think the whole lost in space thing has been done already by star trek I doubt it will last more than a few seasons.

  • Each to their own. I quite enjoy Universe, although I didn't see the reason to sacrifice Atlantis for it. Atlantis deserves at least another 5 seasons and 2 movies.

  • use r fuk heads if u think sgu sux cum on there only just finish the first season and sg1 and sga r big shoes to fill wake the fuk up ppl

  • BattleGateVoyager90210 sucks. If it weren't for it's two year contract it would have been off air already. Hell, it already was cancelled in Australia for its extremely bad ratings. I really don't like SGU. There's absolutely nothing interesting about it. It's just who's sleeping with who and the ship is so fucking dark. First time watching it I swear I thought something was wrong with my television screen because it was so dark. Not to mention how fucking shaky the camera is. UGH.

  • IM GOING TO TELL YOU ALL SOMETHING ! WATCH SEASON 2 !!! IF SGU DIES, THE ENTIRE STARGATE FRANCHISE DIES....WHICH MEANS NO MORE SG1 MOVIES OR ATLANTIS MOVIES !!
