  • @johnnyjtuber its really at the digression of the drummer as my D/S in my band plays with it resting on his middle finger, whilst my D/M rests it on his ring fingers (i am assuming that your references are to these fingers as I can't imagine how it would only rest on the index)

Personally (though i'm primarily a piper/bass) i've been learning like my D/M though i have seen people from bands such as the Vale of Atholl PB playing like my D/S

  • Hi, Steve! I am a long playing member of the Casper Wyoming Trooper's Drum and Bugle Corps- and noticed you are playing with only the index finger on your "Traditional grip"- left hand. Is this normal for Scottish drumming??- I was always tought that the stick rested on the third finger; and have practiced that way- for all my life; what I know as "Traditional Grip" and was wondering why you don't! Or is it the camera angle?- You sound good, though- thanks for the video!- Johnny
