I've been vegetarian all my life. And I run ultramarathons. So I AM very strong. I do martial arts and a whole lot of other sports. And at the cost of sounding arrogant - I AM good at some of these. The point I'm trying to make is - If I know exactly WHAT to eat and how to eat, I get enough protein in my diet from vegetarian food. So it's a conscious choice one has to make. Unless you want to be as strong as a gorilla or a bear - what use is that for you in your life?

Cats & dogs are the animals that have existed with us the longest. But cats & dogs still retain the ability to survive without us in many conditions. They didn't come out of nowhere, and they still have instincts and abilities to survive without us.

To survive anywhere? No. But that's absurd. You can't drop a person in the middle of Antarctica either.

We can still stop forcefully breeding them to make them reproduce at extreme rates. And we still don't need to captive breed and eat them.

Lastly, a realistic scenario is that of the human population gradually becoming more vegetarian and vegan over time. This mean that the rate, scale, and number of captive-bred animals would decrease over time as well. Until a point, gradually, where there is no longer any demand for breeding and killing animals, there will also be almost no "supply" of captive-bred animals around.

Brewster, human physiology is more herbivore than it is omnivore. Cows can be fed animal matter too, but it doesn't mean that they are omnivores either. For optimal health, humans don't need to eat animal matter. Humans live longer and healthier on a diet of just plant matter. Another big myth is that plant matter doesn't have proteins, but where do you think many of the largest and strongest creatures like elephants, giraffes, moose, and gorillas get their protein? Plants.

Being an animal doesn't mean that humans must eat animals in the same way that elephants, being animals, don't need eat other animals too.

Again, you haven't addressed that what we do to other animals is violating their natural life cycles. In nature, all animals have evolved to be born free, live free, and to die free. We are taking away the greater part of what they evolved to be and evolved to do in nature. What gives you a right to take away these freedoms from them?

What we do isn't a part of the natural cycle, and it violates numerous other animals' natural cycles. Every ecosystem on this planet *naturally* doesn't need humans to kill animals to be balanced. Also, do you really think that any cow is happy to hear their kindred slaughtered, happy to have their calves taken away at birth, happy that their male calves at generally slaughtered as babies, happy to not able to live a free life in a family unit? Even "free range" meat is not from happy cows.

Forcing an animal to be born in captivity, confining them into a cage or at best into a place surrounded by fences or walls, make them unable to interact with natural habitats, take away the animal's siblings, father, and mother and not allowing them to grow up in family units, not allowing them to be born free, live free, nor to die free, all of this somehow is completely in harmony with nature? No, what we do to animals isn't a part of the natural cycle of life. Please rethink your choices.
