One of my all time fave. animes and i LOVE this song! THANK YOU for posting this! I woke up feeling crappy and down, suddenly wondered if this was on here and BOOM!!!! Really brought a smile too my face! The orginal 3 vhs set( i have! ) is truly awesome! Pai Thunder is gorgeous and The Banker is an awesome vilin! Cool OVA that ended waaaay too soon. I really wish they had made more than three episodes. It ended just as it was getting good. :(

I agree, if they had been able to make 3 more episodes I would have been happy, as it was clearly an unfinished process, and I think I would have liked it more if they hadn't squished it into three episodes and left it on a cliffhanger.

I read before that Hirano and company did not want to continue the storyline with a follow up OVA. The piece of crap (NOT SO GREAT) g-dangaioh very loosely connects to this classic OVA.

Anyways, Hirano once commented in an interview it would be futile for the Dangaioh team to be re-united b/c they would LOSE against the BUNKER. Maybe, maybe not!!

Still it would've been one HELL of a battle!! Definitely worth watching it would make a great anime IF they kept the same awesome production values

The original DANGAIOH OVA series by Hirano, Obari and Kawamori was DECADES ahead of its time! Look at the highly detailed character designs and BLOODY BRILLIANT MECHA DESIGNS!

Nothing today compares and certainly not Eureka7 or Evangelion! Those mechas were ugly pieces of crap. Now the original DANGAIOH MECHA IS A WORK OF ART!!!!

Well, you're comparing Super Robots with Hybrid Robots. It's a pretty one-sided affair.

Remember the OVA was only three episodes long. Assuming the budget was the same as any other Super Robot show at the time, you certainly could concentrate the money into the appearance, effects and such. Then again, thats why I love it xD

@macrossdyrl i do like a lot of the new original mechs, but i do think that (for example) what they did to the "new getter robo" was horrible, i mean the shin getter in Armageddon was WAY better and its not really THAT old. i feel the same way with gundam though >.>

@macrossdyrl I think the EVA's were meant not to look cool, but to scare the shit out of little kids. Especially 01, Have you SEEN that thing go berserk? And its even creepier when you find out that 1 and 2 are powered by the trapped anguished souls of their pilots mothers.
