alright people, i'm like on a search for 'the perfect' mic. and I wonder, is there any mic. in existence that can record sound whether be vocals(sing kind) and also of course instruments that can capture the exact sound as you would here it in real life whether recorded in a sound proof room or in an open space. Like is there such a mic that can do that?

@GMSamuelRhine lol I think i beg to differ...iv been doing what i do now for over 20 years, first recorded using a tascam 4 track and i was using an amiga computer and a bunch ov midi keyboards and i especially remember my first sampler, an Akai s1000 ....and now in 2011 im right up to date still with dsp cards and 16in-out audio interfaces...but I havnt gotta prove myself to u...I was wondering however what you feel u have to prove? my comment was aimed at crap (non profesional) usb mics not u

@MrDigitalTrix I agree that USB mic's are not as good as stand alone mic's, but they do a job & are good at doing it, they are not crap, they are just not as good as a standard mic. My friend has a music store & he runs a hire business of audio equipment, now he has mic's worth well over a £1000, he has to have them for the business, but he always told me that I should make do with a sm57 for recording in the home, the sm57 has it's place, as I am sure the usb will, some can only afford usb ect

Iv had this mic for 3 years, love it. Great on acoustic guitars and vocals. Recently it started crackling, now any audio input results in continuous distortion. Are there transistors in this thing that can burn out? can I get it fixed or do I haveto buy another one? and i will lol.

I've used this mic for YEARS! This mic is good ONLY if you've never been exposed to HIGH END gear. This mic has been a blessing to me. It's never failed, I've always recorded vocals with it.  But now that I have access to mics like Neumann TLM103, the Blue Baby Bottle, etc this mic really is for those who can't immediately afford $599-$999 for a decent high end mic. If you are on a tight budget this mic will work. If you can strecth and go better do so. I did and I wish I did sooner.

This mic is awesome for the money. I'm thinking about picking up another one, so I can have two of them. Its got a nice warm sound.
