ANY STREET FIGHTER WOULD GO FOR A CHANCERY HEAD LOCK AS SOON AS YOU RAISED HIS ARM IN YOUR ARM LOCK ATTEMPT.As for as risking balance by kicking in an all out struggle with a highly adrenalized foe I wouldn't .Just drive your elbow into his ribs near the arm pit then raise his arm for the lock.He will have other things to worry about like why he can't get his breath and why his heart is jumping around with irregular rythym.
@niseikenpo You need to realize that these are basic forms, called kata. They are only for training. The kata will of course disappear under pressure and with speed, at least for me since I am nothing but a beginner. But I can tell you that when his hand is behind the neck straight, it is locked. If the uke tries to get away or do a headlock, all needed is a bit streching the neck backwards and go down. If that won't dislocate or break the arm, the uke is on the ground.
would it be possible to use this technique against a straigt punch to the face or would the arm be to extended for this technique? can this be combined with a block?
naaaa there wearing a gi dont try that in a wrestling match unless ur going ot throw a tight head lock toss.... but a high school wrestler would ball that guy up with no gi on
Then what??? Highschool wrestling dosent do anything lol All you can do is ball people up and on the sidewalk their takedowns would hurt themselves more then the other person LOL Takeaway the rules of HS wrestling, you loose lol
wrstle against a good wrestler without a gi on and there is know way he will land the leg trips...i like the gi throws but without the grips and and the friction i dont think he could land it
lol and you dont seem like you know much about martial arts wrestling or fighting
Iv seen to many HS wrestlers kneed in the face trying to do takedowns lol What does it do in a fight??? They dont even know submissions, just tripping people. If you want to wrestle, use some form of Jujitsu or one of the branches. Outside MMA, HS wrestling has NO purpose... Like I said, take away the rules, its not that great... as for these moves like the video, they were made for a whole different type of fighting, ninjitsu moves like this would be used on someone whos not ready.
These moves and techniques wernt made for fighting half naked sweaty guys... They were made for people wearing clothes that resembled a gi, the normal Japanese kimono, so it makes sense to have moves that envolve using the "gi" agenst them, because everyone wore something similar to it. cross gi choke would work on anyone cause everyone had thoughs types of robe like clothes. You have to know the history of the moves before you just throw it into the MMA ring and say it sucks...
I agree but the reality is that most martial art techniques are situationally specific. that is you need to know when they can be used. The average samurai was also familiar with sumo techniques as well so they would have all bases covered
maybe when you compare the two arts in paper however there are hardly any ninjutsu guys who can apply their art in real time like the wrestlers do. In that sense wrestling would win.

Questions: Why would two Samurai, who were wearing armor, try and punch each other? What effect would a punch have on armor that was designed to be impervious to bladed weapons?
and !! the point !! it's not about kill him !! ... well that's later !! but the point is !! .. inmovilize him !! .... the brazilian Ninjutsu it's the most deadly Martial art in the world !! .... u can fight with a fucking elephant..if u know how to use Brazilian Ninjutsu right !! u can !! even Kill that MoFo elephant n_n !!
Imagine they break their weapons or some kind of disarment occurs. The techniques were created to utilize both empty handed strikes and weapon strikes. Imagine using some form of shuriken or knife in the strike. Not all samurai wore the same kind of armor. The kind of armor depended greatly on their rank and their weapon of choice. Most samurai armor was designed to resist slashes and cuts, not direct pierces/blows. Samurai armor isn't indestructable.
Oh, come on, svengalistudios. You must be joking! Are you saying that, if you were wearing yoroi (Samurai armor), you'd hang your punches out to dry like a Buj guy? Don't be so ridiculous. People have NEVER fought like this. The only thing a lunge punch is good for is helping to make the technique possible from a strike. That's what makes the Buj such a joke: they want to practice techniques designed as te hodoki and yet do them in a stand-up fight.
I dont think they profess to be able to "catch" jabs in the Bujinkan. This is fuedalistic combat - usually the opponent has armor or thick clothing and they are on a battle field so extended moments of pugilism are not a good idea, they mainly do long range thrusts and standing grappling to prevent getting caught in a melee and produce a blind side for too long. This type of Art does not need to be compared to mma or boxing to have use.
Ah this is a demo.

How do i prevent from his hand going over my shoulder?
Only with brute force against it? or maybe just rotate to the left?
Jigoroxxxkano 5 months ago
@Jigoroxxxkano Right, by rotating and pulling your opponent he will be busy with his balance thereby minimizing evasion.
Still, care must be taken to ensure he will not turn the position into a sacrifice throw (Yoko Sutemi).
ninjalla 5 months ago
@ninjalla yeah^^ i would go for an ura nage if i was uke
Jigoroxxxkano 5 months ago
@Jigoroxxxkano I don't think ura nage is easy here. I think the opponent should try for Harai goshi

well, this was much better than most ninjutsu videos, but you still didn't show me it used in sparring.

I would not be so sure of that GuamKomudo. There is no martial art that is better than another. It is the one who practises it that matters.

do any of u guys think this move might work in the wrestling room?
Aztecalt1997 3 years ago
Actually some of the underarm and distancing mangment here were taken from a Dan Gable seminar.
Combining the half clinch on the neck with a modified neck/shoulder block makes harder on the opponent to square in and try to single leg us.

Using this against a straight punch is extremely difficult as you'll have to time your entrance perfectly.
ninjalla 3 years ago
I've used it. It works fine. Sometimes it fails, sometimes not, like anything.

This is Judo, not Ninjutsu. Judo has different Jujutsu ryu within it.
Jujutsu was mostly used against opponents wearing armor.

Some of it makes sense, but it is based on the idea of catching a jab. This can not be done in real life.

you are probably right. A jab is hard to intercept, however, it's done against an extended hand, not a jab
ninjalla 4 years ago
i dont see him catching any jabs.
joshgates81 4 years ago
I dont see any jabs, it looks like he is catching the front arm to underhook the axillary. This is a common enter in Judo.
The only stike I see with the front arm is a straight lead/front lunge which is a thrust and stays extended - not a jab.
