I think all are deserving of their Oscar nominations and would be worthy recipients...

But I think Meryl will be beaten by Kate Winslet in The Reader and Seymour Hoffman by Heath Ledger or Michael Shannon (who I think is the most deserving).

I personally think either Amy Adams or Viola Davis deserve the award... I haven't seen Benjamin Button yet, but I walked out of VickyCristina and thought Cruz's character had no depth

I personally think it should go to Viola because she plays an underrepresented character, but also Amy is deserving and I think she should work more with Streep!

I thought Amy's character, and the believability of her performance, was the sine qua non of Doubt. The fact that so many people perceive her work as just "playing Amy Adams in a habit", or Giselle becomes a nun, is dismissive of how spot on she really is in the role. I loved this movie, not perfect, but certainly excellent.

I adore Meryl, always have. a couple of times in interviews, she has made me wonder with her comments. She is right about the 1963-64 still not being for women perse, but there still were women doctors and lawyers then, just not depicted anywhere and not like we see today.

I cannot wait for this film. some critics say it should be left as a play and is best on stage but it will be fabulous with a stellar cast

Philip Seymore Hoffman is an excellent actor. I've liked him since Boogie Nights. Even though he has done alot more than that. When he imitated Truman Capote, it only showed what great depth he can go within to achieve his acting objective. Amy should lower her voice an octave or two so that her "S's" don't drive PC speakers nuts should the treble be up a notch or two. She is a great singer and I loved her in Enchanted. What is this movie about? I've been too busy writing. Ha!
