@macu986 i know that soviets worked with the nazis at first, hitler promised them peace if they take poland together. comunism is in theory perfect but it is the human factor that ruined it, and at this stage of human evolution it is imposible to acomplish. as for oct. revolution i mustt say i think it was good for russia, but later it became bad. some soviet presidents were actualy good and the people loved them. Stalin = bad :) in the end it doesnt mater, its all in the past...

But, before WWII they had Kingdom of SHS (Serbs, Croats, Slovenes), after war they had Yugoslavia (SouthSlavs). And I still don't understand the last war.

I think that Germans were very happy looking at that.

Talking about history we could say what was bad or good.

I think that revolution was very bad for Russia.

Communism was social engineering, which was to create a new man, a Soviet man.

@macu986 SHS was very unstable and nationalism was criticly high, that led to creating religious and nationalistic fractions like ustasha's and chetnik's during WW II and their great hate crimes (im not saying they are the same). the kingdom was renamed to yugolavia before WW II. and the last war ( the 90's ) was made by political leaders who woke up the old hatreds (same hatreds the comunists tried to extinguish for 45 years) and manipulated the nations in to war over ridiculous reasons...

Serbia was strong and lived rather well during its comunist time, no reason to be ashamed of that. but sadly serbs want to erase that part of their history instead of embracing and cherishing it with the rest of their past. that is the very reason that serbian state oficials are not invited to moscow 9. may "victory day" parade...

Read about Lenin. About how during WW I he passed through German territory from Switzerland to Russia. He received the gold from Germans on revolutionary activities and promised conclude peace with Germany, which could help them to win the war.

Most of conflicts happened between lords competing for resources and people were considered as resource too so there was no reason to kill them.

Eastern Europe was mostly a target of raids by non-European tribes with aim to capture slaves or expand the living space. To survive in such conditions you have to be prepared.

Meanwhile Slavs were confronted by Khazars, Tatars and Mongols at East and by Arabs-Ottomans at South borders of their lands. These neighbors have only been interested in clear lands for their pastures and some slaves.

At North/West fight for freedom, at South/East fight for life.
