Very awesome video, love this area. Every time I dry by this area I try to think about what it looked 130 years ago. I'd love to purchase a full version of this video. This would also be a great video to show in classrooms around Indiana and other states.
Wonderful presentation! I live on and love the Kanakakee. I have studied its history and am familiar with a lot the information in this video but I have never seen it presented so beautifully. Thanks so much.
Jeff, I have a ton of information on the river and Sumava if you are interested.
This is just a wonderful video on the Kankakee River. Hopefully some day this film will be made into an hour or two documentary and appear on PBS for many to see and learn about the treasure we have in our area.
I really enoyed to see this documentary about this river called 'Kankakee River' ...so beautiful ...I never been there ...well..who knows.... one day ....perhaps ! God bless this area ....for ever
The Kankakee River is one of the cleanest rivers in the area. It's truly a pity to see what developers have done to it.
There are still pristine parts of the river system, but the State of Illinois wants to destroy them by building an unnecessary airport nearby that will dump tons of pollutants into it . Stop the airport, and save the Kankakee!
These are all so interesting facts of an area that we have taken for granted. We need more videos like this. The people that put this together did a very good job. I want more!!!
It's a shame that a man can throw a rock across something that once stood 7 miles wide. This presenation needs to be lengthened and broadcast to every american! I am proud to see the Izaak Walton League in the credits.
