Awesome vid, this is the version i grew up with in the mid 90's when i was 14 years old, preciously back in 96 before summer time in junior high. I read an article in neweseek on anime that stated this with Ghost in The Shell, Totoro, Grave of the Firefleis and more. I rented it from one of the video stores here in Albuquerque and loved it! became my fave animated movie then and rented anime including buying them.

That is utter fanboy bullshit. 1. The voicework in this dub sucks and the Pioneer voices actually sound like real people rather than anime characters. 2. The translation in the original dub sometimes makes ZERO sense - "This chapter's finished." WHAT???, plus the new dub translation is much closer to the original Japanese. 3. 1. When Tetsuo was mutating in the Japanese dub, it sounded like he was crying.

2. In the '88 dub, Tetsuo actually sounded like he was in pain for he was screaming out for Kaneda to help him.

Regardless, I saw him in Trigun, Akira, Wolf's Rain, Beck, Tales of the Abyss and Devil May Cry 4 and he's practically one of my favourite voice actors. The only thing I didn't like him in was Bleach since I just think that show can't really be watched in any language except for the original japanese.
