  • macs should come with an exhaustive kb shortcut book reference! I've spent hours searching the net for shortcuts that are for navigating on the mac. I had to buy a book separately online and it's on its way. It's called Core Mac os x keyboard shortcuts and it looks to be comprehensive.

    win+l

    are must!

  • on mac

if you hold shift and press the minimize button on any window

    it does it in slow-mo

    amazing :)

  • I use Launchbar in Mac OS X. It make's opening files so much faster. I also use Quicksilver on my iBook. Quicksilver does have it's advantages over Launchbar.

  • command-tab switch apps

  • ok, lets try and fit this in 1 comment:

    Alt+0128=euro-sign

the Ctrl+arrow word-navigating, page-up/down, end/home etc. is what I miss on the iPhone editing my e-mail. I live with those.

And switching to a Mac is a pain in the ass especially since 1. apps that are originally linux-apps do it differently (i.e. Adium and Bluefish) and 2. my synergy maps the keys differently then my KVM-switch (and I use both).

    finally, secret Firefox-Mac shortkey: Option+scroll left/right to go back/forward.

  • €, lol thats cool i like alt+0160 try that on a folder!

  • Didn't fit in 1 comment. I just discovered that on Windows Firefox lets you go back and forward with Shift+scroll up/down.

lastly, autohotkey lets you script hotkeys on Windows. When I now press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+W is starts up my web-designing setup with MySQL and Apache running, Firefox open with the firebug-toolbar open, the DOM-inspector and the Error-console open. UltraEdit and finally Opera for phpMyAdmin and documentation (leaves FF's Error-console clean) Also have a hotkey that closes all.

  • The P is on the other side of the board, hell no I'm not gonna reach that far if I wanna quickly copy and past something :P

  • I don't use KB shortcuts often but the one I use occasionally is Shift+Insert

  • shift 6 times in fast sequence..

  • ctrl-z undo

  • ditto, lol

  • ctrl + shift + esc = ctrl + alt + delete

  • Not entirely, it brings up the taskmanager without having to go through the Windows Security screen.

    But close enough ;)

  • command- z (undo)

    command- x,c,v (cut, copy, paste)

    command- q (quit)

  • Quicksilver.
