alt+f4 - make sure you have 0 tabs open, and it plays a short video from the firefox creators. Works on firefox or internet explorer, but you can't have tabs open.
[in windows] I love task switching Alt + tab, when in tabbed Windows Ctrl + tab to switch between tabs and Ctrl + F4 to close that tab (when available e.g not on system properties)just like Alt + F4 to close a window.
macs should come with an exhaustive kb shortcut book reference! I've spent hours searching the net for shortcuts that are for navigating on the mac. I had to buy a book separately online and it's on its way. It's called Core Mac os x keyboard shortcuts and it looks to be comprehensive.
I use Launchbar in Mac OS X. It make's opening files so much faster. I also use Quicksilver on my iBook. Quicksilver does have it's advantages over Launchbar.
the Ctrl+arrow word-navigating, page-up/down, end/home etc. is what I miss on the iPhone editing my e-mail. I live with those.
And switching to a Mac is a pain in the ass especially since 1. apps that are originally linux-apps do it differently (i.e. Adium and Bluefish) and 2. my synergy maps the keys differently then my KVM-switch (and I use both).
finally, secret Firefox-Mac shortkey: Option+scroll left/right to go back/forward.
Didn't fit in 1 comment. I just discovered that on Windows Firefox lets you go back and forward with Shift+scroll up/down.
lastly, autohotkey lets you script hotkeys on Windows. When I now press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+W is starts up my web-designing setup with MySQL and Apache running, Firefox open with the firebug-toolbar open, the DOM-inspector and the Error-console open. UltraEdit and finally Opera for phpMyAdmin and documentation (leaves FF's Error-console clean) Also have a hotkey that closes all.
