They fixed the wrong vehicle in this ad. The blue and red "faux"tomobiles were pieces of shit before they ever left the assembly line. The Caddy ragtop is the real treasure worth protecting in this ad.
Sad to see a car so incorrectly restored. Wrong dashboard and dimmer color, wrong whitewalls and hubcaps, wrong trim on the side ETC. Closer inspection would show many other mistakes.
That's how you can park in NYC with an older car like a 1960s Cadillac. Now imagine they made one of that Cadillac going 50 MPH downhill into the side of a prius...
I cringe every time I see this commercial. Taking that beautiful '62 Cadillac and hitting those two little Miatas. The Miatas 'bumpers' fell off while the Caddy had minimal damage.
every time I see this I LMFAO I love the Caddy that cars a f'n tank real steel bumpers and all . the best part is when he gets parked he looks up at the camera and shrugs like F--K IT.
The ad agency for 21st has succeeded in offending alienating both Miata owners (over 900,000 Miatas sold), and classic car owners with this ad. I can't believe they didn't think to realize that owners of Miata sportscars lovingly care for them. It's offensive to see this company carelessly smashing them to bits.Their CEO must be a complete BUTTHEAD. Bet the "after" shots in the ad were taken actually BEFORE they destroyed the cars, and the execs wrote the cars off as a loss to a salvage yard.
I hope both 21st Century (FKA AIG) and Progressive go out of business because they both suck. The stupidest series of ads I've ever seen. The fact that these companies spend so much on TV ads only proves how much they are ripping off the public.
personally, i love all these commercials. they are funny as hell. and if you observe the Cadillac LIKE STATED BEFORE, there is no damage whatsoever. So everybody, calm down, because if you have an older big car i'm sure you've done this before lol
@98AuWing Until you crash. Older cars were so heavily made that instead of reducing passenger acceleration upon impact--like modern cars are designed to do--they just left you up to chance. Nicer to look at, but were essentially screaming metal death-traps.
@asdf12345678961 Looks like either a Cadillac or a classic Chrystler. What year if i had to guess would be late 50's like maybe a 59 - early 60's no later than 63.
@ericbrow123 - Everytime one of these commercials comes on my TV I flip the channel cause all they do is trash nice looking cars... I hate watching them! Glad there are other people that feel the same way I do...
They are not the same damage so they should not even try to compare even the door ding comerial whos to say one damage cost more than the other on the one with the door ding whos to say the left door is cheaper. Here is an small scale sample i have a 79 camaro and the door handles crack easy and i have to replace them often the left door handle is $20 and the right is $30 and ther are from the same company so these comercials are false on "same" damage claim
OH MY GOD!!! i almost passed out when i saw this commercial. what the hell goes through peoples minds to even possibly think of making this awful commercial.
These destructive 21st century ads are a real turn off to me the one with the jackass on the lawn mower was bad enough but to smash two sports cars and violate a gorgious Caddy convertible like that shows 21st century has no heart. What can you expect from a company that use to go by the name AIG. You should fire your ad agency because they are costing you business.
Wow...I'm really glad I don't have 21st Century insurance. I sure as hell wouldn't have it after seeing this commercial.. What were you trying to prove? Why don't you take the money you waste smashing cars in your commercials and lower your customers rates?
@willDANCEforPENNIES if you are talking about the car in the middle, it didn't even put a ding in the bumper compared to the crap that they make today. That is how much better the cars were made back then.
@sr71ablackbird - Well also consider that if involved in a high-speed crash with the old car, since it doesn't absorb any energy in the crash, you will and your chances of being severely injured are killed go up drastically. Just facts.
@deloreanman14 that's bullshit and you know that as well as i do, have you ever seen one of those classics and one of those p.o.s's made these days get into a wreck ? I have. and the outcome was NOT all that great for the p.o.s. that was made these days was all wrecked on one side where it hardly even dinged the fender on the older one, so stick that in your peace pipe and smoke it pochahantis !!!! the crap we have today is nothing but B.S. that there is your 'Just facts'.
@deloreanman14 if your age is correct on your profile, kiddo, you haven't been around long enough to actually know what went into building that 'old car' it was called, good old-fashioned planning, ingenuity and good old-fashined hard work, long before them damned robots took over the welding. So, it doesn't absorb any energy ? no, those new P.O.S.s did, that's why their ends fell off, damn it kid, do your history !!!!
@willDANCEforPENNIES hey will, no need to fret any, no damage was sustatined to the classic caddie there, for it didn't incur any injuries, it was just demonstrating how that crap these days are nothing more than a p.o.s. compared the the way they made that classic there.
@JamesPriceJohnson thank goodness, someone that i can agree with, the only damage i see is to the 2 crappy cars that are made these days, 'they don't build them like they used to'. that's the truth. I would rather have that one than any brand new p.o.s. made these days.
@Chevelledune hey, don't worry about the caddie, it's ok, hell that thing could probably drive over both of those new P.O.S.s and not even get a scratch.
