  • Don't forget one of Harrison Fords' best movies was filmed here-

  • I still don't understand why tourists come here. Lancaster is pretty boring.

  • Puppy Mill capital of the world. These people make me sick

  • Lancaster sucks. It smells like shit and tourists are always taking picturees of the horse and buggies. I would know because I live here.

  • if you'd live in lancaster county why we hate horse and buggys

  • Lancaster county is one of the most beautiful areas in the USA

  • i hate lanc lanc

  • Why the hell is this place called 'intercourse'?!

  • no offense, but the bluegrass music is really out of place.

german farmers. bluegrass comes from the british.

you can't find bluegrass around here anywhere. You really have to go to maryland for that.

  • When we visit PA from California, the first place we go to is Lancaster County. Unfortunately we still haven't visited these small towns. I was told not to go there on a Sunday. Usually we visit Strasberg.

  • i myself live in lancaster, just outside of the city

  • Don't forget to stop in Bird in Hand, Blue Ball and such. I live in York Pa and Lancaster is just a stones throw away. If you ever want to relax, take in the sites and enjoy home cooked meals like you can never imagine, stop in Lancaster Pa. You will not be disappointed. Trust me, I live here and I never get tired of it.

  • @grabmygoobers Great Advice.. thanks !!

maybe we'll see you there :):)

    Peace :):)

    Ron

    Ron

  • Thanks for this Ron, Very interesting!

    Rick

  • thanks!

    Ron

  • Excellent video.

I've always admired what i know of the Amish. My kids have visited some of their towns, but I have never been in that part of the US. But I think most people agree with their moral ethics.

I have found others around the world that espouse pretty much the same principles, but I've never found one that wantonly kept themselves in a bygone era like that. What's their reasoning for not wanting to move forward with, say, electric cars and such??

  • thanks!

I have to admit .. I don't really know their motivations .. but maybe, just maybe they know something we don't about what is to come.. j/k

I think it may have something to do with sustainability, and only taking what you need from the precious gift we were given. Hard work seems to be something that they know we are meant to be doing .. and relying more on one another then on technology.

  • If, and only if this whole thing we've created, in terms of "society, and civilization" crumbles then they are already ahead of the curve.. ya' know?

  • Ottimo

  • grazie molto

  • great one, ron *****! what's that building you open & close your vid with? i'm told the amish don't allow themselves to be photographed? is that why there are no people in the video? kind of funny, eh... intercourse without people! lol...

  • The Amish claim it is against their faith to have photographs taken of them. so yeah.. I respect that. I don't really know why they feel that way, but I guess I don't really need to know huh?

and yes.. Intercourse is a real place name, as is Virginville, and Blue Ball .. there are others . I haven't been to them yet, so I don't remember them .. I don't understand why they use names like that, but it does stick in your mind ya' know. lol

    Peace :):)

    Ron

  • The building I close with is just a typical working Amish Farm.

the red one in the beginning is one of the shops there .. that one sells, among other things, local produce, and hand made quilts and crafts.

  • thanks for explaining... i should have guessed that those tall twin structures are grain silos... i'm really enjoying the rides, folks!

  • I hope you also brought home some of their baked goods! MMMMMMm yummy!

They may not follow my path, but it is a very good path. I always wish them well.

  • dude .. I gain weight every time I go up there!

    Love their food!

I think if this society and our infrastructure ever crumbles .. we all MIGHT need to learn to follow their path .. just a thought .. I do respect them, and wish them well

    Peace :):)

    Ron

  • we bought a small table there, and it almost didn't fit in the trunk .. so I stopped at a local hardware store to buy a small piece of twine to tie the trunk shut .. the shop keeper refused to take any money .. I was awe struck .. couldn't form the words to thank him well enough .. I hope that he, his family, and their community receive many many blessings

    Peace and Love :):)

    Ron

  • I was really waiting for your video after I saw Minx's video. She gave me a lot of interesting information and I was curious to see and hear more. I think that their concept about family and work should be an example to all of us. It's great when we see communities that stay united and work as one, never forgetting to spread a little love and respect to the ones around them!

  • They are such a pleasure to be near.

at least the ones who run the shop .. I don't bother any of the locals that we happen to see, either on their push bikes, or in their horse drawn carriages ..also I'm careful to respect them, and not their wishes to not be filmed .. I had read somewhere a while ago, that they don't want to have pictures taken of them.. so I respect that.

I do wish more people would focus on family, community and the environment as much as they do.

oh, and the FOOD .. awesome!

  • Ahhh, nothing like Intercourse! Heee-hee...

    Peace~

    Raine

  • and if you get close to Intercourse .. there's a good chance that you'll be leaving Virginville ... but if you go too far .. you'll end up in Blue Ball ..

yuppers .. all real place names .. there's also a bird-in-hand that I couldn't come up with a suitable joke along these lines

    Peace and Hugs :):)

    Ron

  • I've been through Intercourse many times.

And, I look forward to going through it again.

  • while going through intercourse, one should take one's time, and enjoy the visit.

at the very least a few hours are required.

  • I did excpect something else, hehe but i think this is better to watch an other Amish intercourse

I love the videos you two made, thank you so much for sharing it

    Hugzzzz

    Jolanda

  • thanks for all the huggs.. and stars ... and um .. shame on you for expecting something else .. hee heee

    Peace and Hugs :):)

    Ron

  • We were only there one day and between the two of us we have 3 videos! Lol..watch out YT friends if we stay longer. It is quite a lot of fun, there is so much to see, a few hours if not enough. Good job honey, many kisses. I think we should go back for the spring and green!

  • many kisses back

I agree .. we should go back for spring green.. summer dark green.. fall colors.. and winter snow .. and staying longer .. each time .. until it's just up there where we run a restaurant of our own .. like in Lancaster, or York .. somewhere slightly more commercial

    mmuuaaahhh!!

  • Please, next time make sure that you stay a little longer, because we want to see more until we can get there ourselves! I already love that place and this only by hearing you two talking about it.

    Love and respect,

    Lexy

  • Ok, lol..I promise to stay longer. No problem! And I hope that you do get a chance to visit there yourselves. Hugs, minx

  • Lexy

so glad you enjoyed our little bits from a different type of place .. truly incredible people there.

and yes, we will go and stay longer ... just love that area, and the people ..

    Peace, and Hugs :):)

    Ron
