  • Thank you. Most look like before my time, but, I can recognize a lot. The SUM?

    .

  • Nice video.I was born in Paterson and lived there in the 40s and early 50s,my father had a business on Market St.

  • this was fantastic, love it, thanks for doing this.. Ellen

  • wow how my hometown has changed for the whose

  • Nice video of Paterson my old hometown...born & raised there. If only it could look like that again. So sad the way it changed, By the way, the two pictures of Robinson's 5th NJNG Band were pictures I submitted to a site about Paterson's History...they later became the Ex-Fifth Regiment Field Music of which my late father was a member..they were based out of the Paterson Armory. Thanks for posting this video.

  • My how things have changed!!

  • Born and Raised Riverside Paterson… 25 Years Representing!

  • i cross the falls walking to work every morning xD idk just had to say it. xD

  • nice video!!

  • Thanks for the great video! I was born & raised in Paterson. 1960 to be exact many great memories there. Paterson had the best soda fountain diners in the coiuntry. I lived on the corner of Main & Grand St There was a soda fountain there at the Irving Pharmacy.

  • Paterson was beatiful back then but know its ghetto . You'll qet shot if you walk near eastside * its amazing how it went from good to bad ! Im only 14 years old and paterson does have alot of history but its a shame how they let paterson go to waste .

  • born there in 1955, spent my summers there on e 31st st. Loved the place. njcroboy said it all what a shame!

  • My hometown as well! I grew up there in the 1980s...I remember the constant mill fires. It always seemed common place. My mother and I would go and explore the mills also. Paterson will always hold an important place in my heart!

    Thanks for posting this!!

  • i cant believe what da niggers spics and white junkies did to this beautiful town

  • I was born and rise in Paterson in the 70's to the late 80's. I visit every now and then because I have fam there. The city will always be in my heart, I luv u people and God Bless.

  • I loved growing up in Paterson, it was the BEST. Everyone knew eachother and there was nothing we didn't have. it was a min NYC and it was also HAPPY DAYS

  • I lived there in the 60's and 70's. My family left for Maryland in the 70's. Has it changed? Yes it has, but I don't think it's as bad as some places around the country. I went up to Garrett Mountain, and it was still beautiful. All they have to do is cut down some trees by the overlook. If I was living there I would do it myself. That's what it's going to take. People caring about what's around them.

    Paterson for life!

  • I was born my self in paterson back inda 74 year usta live a block away from the real tony sopranos hang out it was cool no one messed on that block cuzz the italianz rulled but on the other side of the block was da crew my niggzz ph2 school 2 boys later power house two those were the fun days realy miss it but couldnt put my kids what I went through growing up in poverty so I left 1500 miles away still love it though much love.

  • Great video. My parents were from Paterson. It's nice to see the hard history behind the town.

  • I was born in Paterson in 1960 and grew up in the burbs. My parents told me that Paterson used to be beautiful and I didn't really believe them. This post makes me a believer. What happened??!!

  • Born in Paterson General , 1957 - Now its , I THINK, an apartment complex.. Grew up in Hawthorne, but sure remember visiting grandma and grandpa in Paterson on North 26th Streee :)

  • I grew up in Paterson with my parents leaving when they tired of the city life. Eastside was a good HS, if you wanted to work there were choice colleges awaiting. I had a classmate get a perfect score on his math SATs.

Downtown was the place to shop. Real department stores and Mom and Pops stores coexisted. We took a bus to the Fabian to see first run films. We hung out in the park on Weekends, dragged our sleds to Eastside Park for the hills leading toward Route 20.

  • Im 19 and live in PATERSON, its a horrible town for adults lmaoo but for us young heads we get it poppin with them sets going everywhere. 8 BALL PLO 187 CRAB KILLUH WOLF PACK FLYBOYS NIGGGGUHHHH!

  • paterson, nj!!?? hahahaha...blue gum low life town now!!

  • I like it...Paterson is a great place to live...P-town forever!!!

  • I was born and raised in Paterson. I lived there until the mid 90's. I wish It would have been as beautiful growing up as it was in all these lovely pictures. Unfortunately, the residents have stopped loving their town and have not done much to bring it back to its former glory. Although I didn't get to live in this city when it was beautiful, I will always be proud to be a real "Patersonian"!!

  • I lived near westside park in the mid 60's right before they built Kennedy h.s. My great grandfather had something to do with the old submarine that was in the park. I went to p.s.#5 and the "new" vo-tech @ wayne when it was brand new. For those who find it hard to believe, Paterson was a good place to live, but time, progress and all the other crap ruined it. Thank you for sharing.

  • I was pleased to read your note about Paterson. My grandfather and father were both present in about 1926 when the submarine was pulled from the river. I lived in the Totowa section when you could walk from Front St to Chatham Avenue and from West Braodway to Cumberland Avenue and know everyone you met. In those days Paterson was an alive, vibrant city. I miss a lot of things about it. Good to read your comments. SDCb

  • @sdshconti my father in law led the group that raised the sub

  • I grew up in South Paterson in the 50's 60's and early 70's I'm so glad I did I had a happy innocent safe childhood there. I am only sad that progress and the future brought it down..
