@jetsamrover Sure, those were in the song lyrics but how do you know for sure Major Tom didn't make it back to Earth later or for that matter make a pitstop at a bar on Mars and jam out with some space babes? It's not definitive. It leaves his fate open to interpretation by the listener.

This is the only song I have heard (aside from those sung from a directly and completely female's point of view) that is better when a women sings it. I'm sorry to those who believe I am sexist for saying this but I believe, not from a slanted point of view but from experience (actually listening to both men and women singing), that men tend to have smooth, clearer, and more crisp singing voices. Not to mention a larger and more pleasing to listen to pitch range.

at first i like your video because the pictures perfectly fit to the lyrics and i really see what you wanted to express .

but i also like the song and i lke it because of the ending . in my interpretation he does not mind dying because he enjoys the beauty of space and floating around . he really acepts it as his home ( see the line "i`m coming home") and so yes he does not return to earth but he is happy and i absolutly love his state of mind at that : fuck the problems on earth and have fun

Well there have been 3 or four different songs made about Major Tom, two of which are performed by David Bowie, who invented the concept of Major Tom with "Space Oddity", and "Ashes to Ashes". None of the songs talk about him dying, but "Ashes to Ashes" does mention that he loses his mind and goes crazy.

Great job. I seriously usually despise cover work just for the simple act. But this version done Shiny Toy Guns is really awesome and it breathes pure cosmic energy into an already great song. The video editing was spot on as well and really adds to the pace of the listener keeping them groundbased even while floating.

I like your interpretation of this song the best. Well done in telling a story and a happy ending makes it sweet. One thing... I expected at the end, when hearing falling weightless, to see a capsule falling to earth as they often do when astronauts return -- not the spaceship settling back down. But that's a small point. You did a great job.

Yeah, that's the way they filmed it in the public domain movie I used and I just stuck to using the footage from that. I think it was probably a budget issue. Basically all they did was make another launch scene then reverse it probably. Btw, if you watch the actual movie this is from I think a lot of their budget went to dry ice :P
