I don't see how people can't understand that with a lot of practice this level of play is achievable. Search JaimeDL, he puts up some tournaments from japanese arcades where you can see this level of play in every match with almost all characters.

Also, both Gato's qcb+D (or B) cancels (even couple in a row) and Terry's C cancel pressure are doable, I see no staging here. People are just not used to see this amount of skill :)

I remember trying for at least an hour straight to connect Terry's 3 standing Cs feint canceled combo to put it in a combo video (it's here on youtube somewhere). And this guy is doing that consistently in a real match.

You can do "feints" in G:MOTW, which are basically empty versions of moves like Terry's Burn knuckle. Because they are like special attacks, you can cancel normals into these feints.

However, the act of canceling into a feint leaves you at a huge frame advantage, and advantage that allows you to link more attacks and lead to more damaging combos.

What you see Terry doing is HP xx Feint -- HP xx Feint -- HP, etc etc.

SNKP pushed the MVS hardware (the same hardware used for KOF94) to it's maximum limits with this game. This is why Garou tends to be a more respected game. I personally believe Garou is an overall better game than 3rd, but I think they should have made JD harder to perform or given some limitations on when it can be used. A few more characters in the roster would have been awesome too. Once you can JD or Parry everything, the game starts to lose it's spirit.

WHA?!?!?! Bro, as a 3rd Strike player, I WISH I could feint cancel. Hell, linking in Street Fighter III ruins that game already. In that respect, III is more like a poor man's Garou. Look at why the top in III are the top: Ken and Chun. Unreal priority normals, linkable, well, everything, plus, the luxury of having an hour and a half to hit confirm everything. That shit doesn't happen in Garou, where feint cancels are the worst problem. Plus, the tiers are infinitely closer than 3S.

I agree with some of what you say, but in Garou many character have alot of time to hit confirm supers: Gato's close s.D (spammed constantly) into super and Butt's forward s.A (overhead) into just about anything. Crouching A X2 into super works for most of the characters and that gives you tons of time to bust a super.

and if this is an emulated version in anyway.. that either both players were on the same unit.. or it was some sort of lan connection.. there is no way to executesome of the things done in this video with online kailera gameplay.. not this well atleast.. but again i dont want to say Never but through personal experience and i myself always having nothing higher than 20ping (usually around 10-15 on Godweapon) you can perform this well with lag present

well at first it does look like an amazing match between two skilled players.. i play alot of garou.. im above average and i use both terry and gato.. everything that they is very possible but the one thing that bothers me is the gato players flawless execution on the stomp cancels.. that realy is insane. and as for terrys corner feints ive only landed 3 stantind C's before going into the crouching C

and even that is really hard with online gameplay you would need virtually NO lag...

This is the emulated version. Also terry special cancels never keep your guard stunned perfectly. Gato Stomps are too well executed without moving forward.

terry's strings were very uniform (shit you find on gamefaqs and what not). the gato player could have won easily had he noticed the trend then flipped the script. that fact alone prohibits this from being "high level play".

If you're talking about his guard break string, the reason Gato doesn't counter Terry with a d.AB is because apart from doing Shoulder ram, Terry can also do either a hop or a fireball instead, in which case he'd counter-hit a d.AB and go to town on Gato. With a good terry, you need to actually watch and react to what he finishes it of with, which is hard since his shoulder ram is actually pretty damn fast.

Since I DO play this game, I am able to see that there is:

- flawless corner Gato combos that require one frame precision on multiple parts of the combo.

- Perfect use of hand-hurting Terry guard chains that require precision to the frame.

- Aformentioned two-frame stomps.

- Unreal guesses. Gato crouch C expecting it to get JDed, and then Gato cancels into dp+K right before Terry's guard cancel.

- the players never reveal their identities, and apparently played four games ever.

and that is true... I use to think it wasnt hacked but it damn is... That cancel doesn't even exist, well it does but it cant be executed so fast. However an easy trick is to hack the rom, this wouldn't be new. Why haven't we ever seen pro players do this kind of thing in competition? because those players simply hacked the game, very probably played a lot of macros too. Not even a matter of reflexes or skill... It simply goes against the rules of the game, the physical rules.

I used to think that the whole "They're cheating" argument was kinda stupid, but when I think about it, I realize it might be true.

Example: Look at Gato in the beginning of round one. See that stomp cancel he does? There's a two-frame window for that, but he can pull it off flawlessly. But when Terry goes into the guard break string that everyone knows about and makes sure they know where the holes are, Gato takes it to the face.
