Hello casireisi, I really appreciate your recommendation on how to prepare footage for pond5.I am a window user and I do not trust Quicktime Pro 7 because it has a lot of one star negative feedback.I was about to buy it but my head went like saying a NO NO! I would appreciate to know about other softwares that can do the work please.
@victoruguin Apple's Quicktime is working perfectly fine for Windows users. There might be issues for hardcore video professionals under certain circumstances but it works great for most of us. It's also an industry standard (MOV), that's why I recommended it. Still, you can upload your footage in other formats. Please check with each agency what requirements they have.
Thanks for the quick response. The Tipard Video Converter does not come with the Photo-JPG compression parameter.Does that mean the above mentioned program is useless for fullfiling my objective?
@victoruguin You'd have to purchase Quicktime Pro to do that. Then you can use any video editing software to convert to .MOV with the Photo-JPG compression.
Wonderful information!! I have a Panasonic Gh1 which I think is ideal for producing footage. However, I am confused about which software or video converter to use for preparing the footage.I am currently using Tipard Video Converter and the convertion turns out to be very crear.Which video converter or software would you recommend taking into account that I will not edit my videos as Pond5 avise not to do so.Your help will be appreciated.
@victoruguin - Thanks for watching my video. I think your software will work. I recommend to convert your video into a Quicktime .MOV format (container). For progressive footage select the Photo-JPG compression (90% quality). Also make sure that you export your footage in the camera native 24 frames per second. Any conversion to another fps will cause issues (even if they're small!). All agencies have great forums to discuss the details, specifically related to your camera as well!
Thanks a lot, casireisi!! I've just started getting into this and it's great to get some first hand human to human advice on how it all works. Thanks for the recommended links furthermore, which is what I am stumped on. I will check these out now. Just gave you a 5 star rating too, deservedly.
It's NOT a snowball system or marketing which you see all over Youtube! I'm only giving you tips how you can sell your videos online at stock agencies and make a side income (if you like shooting videos). Depending on how serious you are you can make a living off of it. You have to start somewhere, so I'm giving you these tips. If you or anyone needs more help, just send me a message and I try to answer your questions!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this information! This is a great idea, I will definitely try it! Looking forward to more videos from you!
I am going to take your recommendation into account. Thanks for your help.
