There was an agreement in the Jackson camp that teammates weren't allowed to fight each other, and Rashad always said in interviews that he wouldn't fight Jones if the opportunity happened. Then Jones went around and said in an interview that if he had to fight Rashad he would fight him! So it was JONES who broke the deal not Rashad. And after that Rashad felt challenged and said that he wasn't gonna back out like a bitch and that he would fight him also.

I saw Rashad at the airport Friday night, verifiable by Goze, and if this is just a "training injury" **they must train like f**kin demons at Jackson. Along with the knee which was in a full leg brace his right eye was swollen and had burst blood vessels in it as well his face having some swelling and abrasions. I believe Rashad wanted to tell his side of the story of why he waited for the Shogun fight, regardless of whether or not it was happening on March 19th. I don't know if he knew the fight would be offered to Jon Jones.

the only reason shogun didn't perform well when he first entered
the ufc is because in pride there wasn't many rules and shogun
would end his fights quite early with soccer kicks to the head
and brutal head stomps and you can't do that in the ufc so
he is restrained from going all out like in a street fight
the ufc rules have forced him to have to fight and train differently
because believe me ..if ufc had vale tudo rules shogun and
wandy would be giving out some serious beatdowns :D

@9:55 you can see by the way he reacts to that question that he knows he won't be fighting or gonna be fighting at 100% capacity. He looks down way too much in this interview, that's a sign of someone doing or saying something with other things on his mind.
Good thing that he didn;t fight Little Nog , cause that's a BJJ guy with good boxing and Rashad is a guy with a very weak chin. Good that he didn't take that chance.
I liked Rashad he seems like a good loyal guy not fighting frineds.

I saw Rashad at the airport Friday night, verifiable by Goze, and if this is just a "training injury" **they must train like f**kin demons at Jackson. Along with the knee which was in a full leg brace his right eye was swollen and had burst blood vessels in it as well his face having some swelling and abrasions. Honest to God it looked like Rashad had gotten his ass seriously kicked by someone..........

@ThaAnswer1203 We did this interview at 11:30 am on Feb 5th- just hours before the announcement was made at UFC 126. At the time of the interview, the decision had not been finalized. I believe Rashad wanted to tell his side of the story of why he waited for the Shogun fight, regardless of whether or not it was happening on March 19th. I don't know if he knew the fight would be offered to Jon Jones.

@KarynBryant Many of the new FANATICAL fans of MMA will allways have a problem with the Best fighters(AS, Machida, Rashad Evans) WHY? Because their THINKERS. and THINKERs ALLWAYS SWIM UPSTEAM, especially with AMERICAns.....Example of fan favorites...Rampage, Chris Leben, Wandy, C Guida...all examples of MMa fighters who aren't methodical of very tactical in there approach to fighting. I believe this is a problem...Growth can be good but when its based on capital gain it wont last......

Machida KO Rashad was the worst thing that ever happened to Rashad. He's scared of ever being KO again. He used to be a bad ass on TUF who would fight anyone now hes changed. He just layed on Thiago and Quinton and smothered them both for 15 minutes. This guys lost his edge and sucks now.

Rashad barely won against rampage who had a heavy ring-rost and in the public opinion, most think that he lost the decision agains thiago silva, now he ducks Nog... If he was a champion he cant be duckin, and should be wining. Anthony pettis has the LW title shot, but since the rematch, he is now fight guida!
