Is Japanese GunCon 2 compatible with American PS2 Console? Because i have a Japanse GunCon 1 and im trying to get a PS1 to play classic Time Crisis 1.

hey there. i was wondring... i bought my black one a few years ago. it's gun con 2. but why does mine not have the 'laser sight' under the barrel?

@KEYnHEXfan That does sound odd. Maybe it was made by a third party for Namco. Do you have any pictures or video of the gun?

How much did you get it for? I don't think I've even seen a fake black guncon2 before... I mean, I've seen black guncons by other brands, but those look totally different.

@boamuro I paid in the area of $15 US for it. There have been reports of knock off Guncon 2s coming from Asia. The Guncon 2 uses a USB connection so this isn't very surprising. From what I have read, the knock offs work, but no one has confirmed how well. It is unlikely you will ever come accross one of these fake Guncon 2s in a local retail shop, but use caution when buying online.

@boamuro I know! I think it was more like $20 with shipping. I was very lucky. At that price, I was certain it would be a knock off. I was shocked when it turned out to be an official model. It was sold by and individual seller and not an online store.

hi quick question how do i connect the guncon (the orange one u have) cuz there is this yellow chord that the controller has and idk wether do i substitute it to the video instead of using the ps2's video or do i connect both yellow cords?

and btw just spray paint the orange one

@RasenShuriken003 The actual cable coming from the Guncon 2 should have a USB connector and a (yellow) composite video connector at the end. The gun also would have come with a composite video Y adapter. This allows you to connect the composite video into the video line going to the back of your TV. The Guncon 1 & 2 receive a video signal directly from the Playstation this way.

@RasenShuriken003 (continued)... The default setup basically requires you to use a composite video cable (yellow/red/white) with your Playstation 2. You will need an adapter to use S-Video or component video cables with the Guncon 2.
