For most a mac has become less about the quality of the computer but more about how much of a social statement owning a mac is. Why have a £180 tablet running android (a perfectly good OS) when you can have a £329 ipad that can't run flash and doesn't have expandable memory? Becuase its an ipad, it means you settle for nothing but "the best". Its all about showing off.
