  • isso me deixa assutado

  • hey how do you give blooms in a game.

is it lightings or 2d filter

  • hey what script or filter u use for the lights / sky / blur?

  • Just a map!..

  • let me guess, its a FPS

  • reminds me CS S

  • Looks rather good ^^

  • great. Just sort your cars out and it will look good ;)

  • U need to upload a higher quality vid cuz it looks like crap compared to the screenshots on your site. Anyways... NICE JOB!

  • needs more bloom -_-

  • @supermortalhuman what does bloom actually mean?

  • @McLardopolis is it a joke or a serious question? Cause I was saying there is entirely too much bloom in here. The art is nowhere near high enough quality for post effects like this, yet there they are. In the game industry, there is a joke "looks bad!" "eh?" "put more bloom on it!"... heh.... anyway, that was the whole point, wanna know what bloom is? It's the light here. If you really don't know, google it, because it's just an effect to simulate light bloom. ;)

  • good job, shame the blender game engine isnt very compatible.

  • awesome Keep up the good work. I want to play this game when its done!! Is it a FPS?

  • can u make a tutorial

  • perfeito cara!! gostei

  • Excellent job on the textures!

  • nice, if your looking for anyone else on your team :) send me a mail and ill send an app to you. thanks :)

  • can you plz make a tutorial on how to do this on a smaller scakle

  • what do you mean?

  • i like your bump maps good job

  • nice

  • This looks great

    Alf!Q

  • good game =D

  • After watching this I yet again ask myself: WHY people say it isn't possible to make serious professional 3D game with Blender and its Game Engine???

What stops its...graphics certainly isn't the case as its obviously very hq...

Is it speed(fps)? can't handle many polygons...or perhaps lack of flexibility in pythons syntax...what exactly? I don't see why?

  • very hq? crysis is very hq not this. As fart as I remember the blender game engine code has/had some serious flaws in it's rendering code. Also I don't know how well it scales. But nobody will stop you from trying how far you can get.

  • Thanks for replying...Well Crysis is indeed very hq but what I wanted to say is - maybe you're able to make hq games with blender, cause this video here shows that such thing could be done SHADER wise, now only polycount and speed performance(fps) is the question isn't it?

Cause if I could do the game as complex as Crysis is with THESE shaders and graphics I'd be very satisfied...But like you said it probably can't handle as nearly as much data as Crysis engine can and yet render it realtime.

  • Well, actually blender supports glsl materials, normal map, bump map, specularity, ambient oclusion, bake, etc. Graphicaly is possible to do a doom 3 or Silent hill 5, or a game of last generation, the problem are frames per second, is a bit limited, so you are a bit limited too adding meshes and techniques to the scene if you want it run enought fast., but blender is evolutioning, we must to wait ...

  • Thanks! You explained very nice!

Thats exactly what I was afraid of :( ability-wise you can do pretty much anything, almost all next-gen stuff! but performance-wise not even close.

    DAMN! :(

HEY! :) but does that mean that with the evolution of Blender, as well as the PC power, we will slowly but surely have one great professional engine for 2-3 years or so?

    I mean is BGE perspective?

you know I am just someone who doesnt want to waste time learning something that I will never use after that :)

  • Yeah!, for sure!, blender is compared to 3D Max and Maya, and many peoples now use Blender, not because just free, either is funny to work in it, you have a hand in keyboard and the other one in the mouse, have you seen the Apricot´s project called "Yo Frankie" ?, take a look at this, is a great demo..., and yes, Blender has a great future, and if you dont like Blender as a Game Engine, you can implement Blender for model and Panda3D for manage your games...

  • Hey that's awesome!

I am glad to hear that and yes I saw Yo Frankie and I was veeeery impress by that game that is what made me doing all these researches on Blender and made me think about starting to learn it.

Well if nothing else, if I start learning it, I'll learn something from it and improve my poor game development skills.

    Thanks for replying!

  • You´re welcome friend, try to do your best....

  • People made serious professional 3D games for the PS1 back when it was out.

The only reason you don't see any in Blender is because big commercial setups usually make their own stuff or buy something professional, and smalller people who use Blender don't usually have the skill / commitment / time to put the effort in.

Looks like this guyu did, except he went WAY overboard with the bloom. WAAAAAAAY overboard. Like Shadow of the Colossus... the graphics would be great at about half the bloom.

  • Well sure, but if you HAVE time, skills and commitment, you still can't have best performance(fps) with any serious polycount and shader quality :( I guess?

That is why I think its not for professional games...if that problem was fixed(maybe it will in future) then there would be no reason for me to not start using it, that would be for sure the best and most fun way to make games...not just stupid monotone code :D

  • so u think shadow of the colossus has too big maps?

  • Maps?

I didn't say anything about maps...

The only problem I had with SOTC is that the PS2 was a little too slow to run it smoothly, and that there was WAY too much bloom.

  • well you can make pro game with blender but it will lack lot of things

c++ has got more features and Advantages [More Control]

blender don't have programing and python is slower lot then c++ [Interpated vs compiled language speed]

  • Thanks for that man! I am so glad people are so eager to explain and reply.

Well I guess I already have decided to try both Blender and Irrlicht/Ogre3D so whichever seems most efficient for what I need but yet has the brightest future I will chose....and will of course use C++ ;)

  • very nice, i especially like the textures, and the bloom effect to, 2d filters i'm guessing?

  • PLEASE tell me how to make textures work in the game? They show up when I render but not when I start the game. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

  • certian key*

  • Looks nice. You could work on some things but it's not like I can even do that x__X (Can't even make a ground well... Lol...) What do you do in the game?

  • So i have a game and the character needs to hold on to objects.

i have thought hard about going about this and i a am stumped.

Can some one please help? :D

  • when the player is near the object, you can have it make a parent when they press a certain object.

  • well done :) !

btw whats the fps ? look abit slow.. Is everything shaded in fragment lighting ? actually it look bad on brick wall, and also take more processing too. looks like metal wall. :)

  • Please tell me did you do this alone and how long it toke?

  • Hmm did you use the Fresnel effect on some of the objects? it gives a great effect but mostly to round objects try not to use it on flat objects

  • Some of the textures seem to reflect a bit too much light, pretty sweet though...

  • Very nice, and cool effects, how u made the bloom effect?

  • How would u make a character walk in the direction of the camera. so if the camera turns to axis y,z, and x are switched?

  • parent it to the camera

  • chairzzz 0_0 zzzzzzz

omfg cool but tables and chairzzzzz looks lamely broke.

    i got linuxzzzzz 0_0 zzzzzz

but what it will be ? shooter , rpg, morpg(cant be morpg xD)

  • seems to be unreal tournament style, is nice!.

  • it has potential tho xD

  • hes not actually playing, hes just doing a walk through of wat hes made, and the reason for the broken stuff is porb because hes making a zombie or a war game

  • whats the name of the game going to be?

    tea party at nannies place?

  • srry i made a nistake abd rated this video poor. once again sorry.

  • perfect verry nice gob :)

  • wow awesome render efect. Good work

  • Oooh shiny!

  • how did you make the bloom effect?

  • 2d filters... i guess.

  • hmm you chose some low-quality textues..

Blender is really powerful you know? You can make the textures so good Crysis will have something to be cautious of.

I mean of course Crysis runs smoother on my PC on highest settings than Blender Game Engine when I put insane textures in, but I am saying that it is really amazing by how good (or bad) you can make your games look :D

  • however people choose to keep things low poly and low quality in blender during developement because its going to look differently in the compiled game.

the blender interface and engine runs solely off the cpu. but when the game is packed and compiled, it then incorporates the graphics card as well.

hands down blender is extremely powerful. its just a matter of knowing your computer's limits.

  • perfect place for a FPS game

  • do u know how to incode it for the pc. Like that it will be just a regular pc game

  • wtf why are people asking to "encode" it. If you mean save it as a runtime? File - save runtime in the engine.

  • lol...ya their just stupid.

  • cool, but what is the point of the game? it isn't a game without a plot or point of some type.

  • how do they make the HDR?

  • go into the shading buttons, go the the shaders tab and mess with those options. for starters.

  • Awesome work, Merry Christmas! :)

  • Interesting level design.

  • nice

  • cpu e gpu trabalhando no limite
