Expansion and low margins->low cost producer. Very good at producing, wigs, clothes, etc... They have to move up more to higher end stuff like cars, electronics, semiconductors, ships, etc... There needs to be a bigger push for that.
i'm from Taiwan, i sturdy China 5 years,Her success were stunned me, Now i.m really respect them
4% GDP of China's 11.2 trillion to be devoted to poor urban area-(Not long ago were 6.4 trillion) They built 10 million aprtment for the poor in 2010 along, there r 26 million more in next 3 years, gorvmt pay from 70-80 to 90% of the rent for the poor ppl,
ppl wake up, China is z role model 4 z world now, thier gorvmt REALLY TAKING CARE PPL, seriously, Don't believe western media, i read Chinese
@energyalt56 Western media could either be overhyping the PRC or bashing the PRC for human rights. I think solely focusing on these two issues is missing the point on the PRC. Yes the PRC has made tremendous progress but it does bring up the issue of how the country is being run. Namely how the CCP runs the country. Why is this relevant? It can lead to distortions. Look at what happened to South Korea in 1997 and to Japan in 1990.
We are looking for a crisis in the country of China to somehow save us from this growing threat. Let me remind you that the U.S. also had several crisis before she emerged as top dawg. keep up the wishfull thinking
This is interesting...Like they just said the American the economy is 3.3 times bigger than China...In the last quarter the US had a 3.1 growth rate,China's economy in the last quarter would have needed a growth rate of 10.23 to not 2 let the gap widen....
"china is more rich country than Japan now" not really true, japan GDP is $5trillion and chinese is like $5.1trillion. but there are 142million people living in japan and 1.3billion in china. put it this way if japan had as many people there gdp would be 50trillion compared with china's 5.
it is quite appropriate. Chinese economy has to face reform when its productions fulfill the rest of world. Currently, Chinese authority try to keep economic growth by investing massive infrasturcture such as high speed railway, high way and airports as well as maintaining a gradually increase of estate. Also, this kind of growth is unstainable. Without the custumption of oridinary people, the domestic cumsumption cannot ahead to positive development.
many chinese friends of mine say that the chinese commi govt wont live long because the chinese are angry at it. i think they see the real china than the lust and partying of the rich people in shanghai and beijing.
as for the EU, everyone in the EU knows that this is as good as it can be for the next 100 yrs, but it's ok because the society is still much more stable than the rest of the world and that is the most important thing of all.
@shiningc323 and many european friends of mine say that european government cannot pay the debt so more debt that means no money and that means no jobs and that means no stable people...the only reason why europe is stable because of economic success by taking african resources...believe me no money no stability...just look what happened all over europe alots of protests because of financial problems like in greece, spain and italy...at least thats what i heard from my european friends...hahaha
these are interesting views and worth giving due attention to. However, I always remember what my economics prof told us, if you lock 3 economists into a room and give them the same data, you'll get 4 opinions.
the problem with china is there are too many Chinese who even refuses to know or talk about the problem of China.. Chinese govt and the Chinese, whether they support their govt or not, will drown due to ego/racism, fear of losing "face" in front of the rest of the world, and lack of rule of law in China. to them, economy is just a tool for politics and therefore they will ruin their economy eventually.
Lol. I think you'll better more worry about the HUGE BLACK HOLE of your FED sucking up all the debts as creating more debts. A sick man judging a growing man how to behave like a healthy person....Irony at the biggest level
funny how george friedman likes to describe countries like turkey and poland as being sooo impressive (Turkey being 17th and Poland 21st or something), he keeps going on and on.. then you hear him talk about China, even though it's the second largest economy he keeps talking it down. I guess China's economic growth is getting in the way of his fairy-tale scenario
Same guy who wrote the book "The Coming Wars with Japan" which hasn't happened yet, you're about 20 years overdue Friedman haha.
@lolspower the possibility of these 2 predictions turning true are independent, let's be scientific about it. have you been to turkey or deal with the turks in business lately? if not, you should really do that before you judge.. they are so much more internationally involved and successful than China and they have great fundamentals laid out in their constitution and laws, which they really follow!
One of the Underlining principles STRATFOR and its Founder and CEO George Friedman states is that common seance (in geo-politics) betrays us. A pattern which has emerged throughout history. Right now things are looking up for China and its economy, but it still has many other hurtles to overcome, hurtles which could easily mean China's undoing. Will China collapse within the coming decades??? Who knows, but as one Confucius philosopher once said, "We Will See..."
same bullshit as those dumb westerners have been producing for the past 31 years, why can't you just shut your fucking shameless mouth up and begin to talk something good about China?
China has the same human rights record as the USA, and their political process is more democratic than the vote rigging sham found in American federal elections ( Florida's electronic vote scandal to name but one high profile case).
So who's afraid of the emerging power of China. Australia has much to gain from our relationship.
@Reqrezentin the investment in african resources will mean nothing if the Chinese govt falls and a new govt has to be rebuilt, as in the case of the fall of the soviet union
@Teranex You know, they do get a lot of things right in their forecasts. I'm not so sure about China being unable to sustain its model of economy, but I think that STRATFOR generally has a good point about China and (especially) India having a lot of problems to deal with before they will be able to call themselves superpowers.
@daenarmorril I don't believe India will ever be a "superpower" (Which is not even mentioned in this video or my comment), but what they are projecting for china is being projected for decades and still didn't happen, so nothing new here. What they say about china is: A)China is isolated (While USA has optimal location on the globe) B)China has a bad economy (Like who is buying all US debt?) C)China will collapse.
@nmazurs Watch the STRATFOR 100 years forecast (All about america, other countries (Like Russia, China) are predicted to collapse lol). And also the video named "China's Aggressive Resources Diplomacy (with maps)". So for a America you would have to name it "USAs resource wars lol".
@nmazurs Ive seen the video the next 100 years. And 100 years ago all was about Germany (Talking about messing up history)? This century is all about the EU (Which is not even monotoned i will add) or China.
