I once had a Tele Thinline with Barden pickups.Sorry I sold it.The Barden pickups have a full bodied sound, less tinny sounding than standard Tele pickups.I have a Fiesta red 1961 Relic Stratocaster, which is my go to guitar for now.I am contemplating getting another Tele,so your videos are very helpful! Thanks.I am leaning towards the Danny Gatton model.
Those pickups with that guitar would be great for studio work, but their (or there, im not sure what is correct when talking about pick ups ;) really ugly, but at least they are not humbuckers with those retarded silver covers that take away the tele's sound.
@bluntobjct The pickups are rail humbuckers in a single coil format, so I'd say that it sounds much thicker than standard tele pickups, which are both single coils.
Hmmm... Depends what P90's haha. Rail humbuckers are more akin to humbuckers than most P90's but I remember reading something about the response being different because the magnets are two long rails instead of individual magnets? Something like that. Haha
@bluntobjct You should read up on Joe Barden pickups first, because these are in this guitar. JBs were developed for Danny Gatton who asked for replacement tele pus that are quiet, a little hotter, have a quicker response, but still sound basically like vintage pus. They look sinilar to Seymour Duncan hot rails, but those really are high gain metal style humbucker pus in a slim format

weird pickups. Are they a big difference compared to the standard ones?

@29396 thx man. I've never really heard about rail humbuckers. so they are comparable to P90's maybe? I have a standard tele btw, which i love. :)
