Hi, I have an interesting problem here. After entering default getaway ip address, the box with security login comes out. I enter the default username and password (admin/admin) and it does not accept it. I tried other possible login options, I watched movies with explanations on youtube, I even reset my router, but nothing seems to work.

you are using the wrong ip most likely, or your computer isnt conencted ot your network.

connect the router to the computer (remember when you connect to a router, do it with a computer that is directly connected to the router with a wire. ) then go to cmd, type "ipconfig/release" then press enter (no quotes)

then wait, and when it lets you type again, type "ipconfig/renew" with no quotes.

oh my friend has a comcast router... the router is the one that is fat and is the "linksys" brand. the model for it is on the front of the router. the router has antennas and stuff in back.

The comcast Modem is usually Motorola, and your phone line / etc. connects to the back with wires, no antennas either.

you do not need to worry about port forwarding if you only have a modem. or so I believe.
