I agree - syntactically it is all over the place, but the ability to create should mean a capacity to expand the meaning of scansion.

This poem shouldn't work, with its light-verse opening and serious conclusion, but it does. Somehow it manages to be more realistic because of that tonal tension. Thanks for posting.
