  • The Philadelphia archdiocese suspended 21 Roman Catholic priests Tuesday who were named as child molestation suspects in a scathing grand jury report last month, a move that comes more than eight years after U.S. bishops pledged swift action to keep potential abusers away from young people.

  • btw - ballsoffury - want to stress that I RESPECTFULLY disagree - always open to someoen with more info than I weighing in - when did the conflict between Israelis/Palestinians begin, roughly? I think in the 1950's approximately that Israel became a recognized state?

  • it certainly does glorify her actions... a "martyr" is held in high regard in both the Islamic and Judao/Christian culture. To use that term for the murder that this girl committed glorifies her actions. The girl that she killed did nothing to deny the Palestinian people their rights. Take up arms against the Israeli government if you have a bone to pick - to target a teenage girl is a cowards' act. Anyone - Muslim/Christian/Buhdist/Jew/Etc. who fails to recognize that is dead-wrong.

  • I've committed to learning more about the Israeli/Palestinian conflict after watching this documentary last night. One thing I have to say after watching it is that the mother of the suicide bomber and her family still refer to her as a "martyr" - which glorifies her actions. Very sad.

  • doesn't necessarily glorify her actions, many palestinians have been oppressed for a long time and even if they were to call someone a martyr could mean that they have done what they can to get a step closer to freedom. i am a totally unbiased jew on this conflict and i realize that the beginning of european jewish migration displaced many palestinians, however i recognize the other sides' endless faults. if you would like we could discuss this issue, i am a p.i. conflict expert.

  • @ballsoffury4 It's good to see a post like yours. Too many tragedies take place within the larger scope of a largery tragedy, the displacement and continuous occupation and deprivation of the human rights of the Palestinian people. The root of all evil, all violence is the denial of the rights of the Palestinian people. Until the occupied territories are completely from, from the occupation and control of movement, there will be no peace. The Israeli apartheid must end for peace to be possible.

  • @wolfatnight Watch Land and The People, a documentary that will help you understand the suffering of the Palestinian people so you understand why you cannot understand the reaction of a child who lives under occupation. No glorification is intended here. They have suffered for so long from humiliating conditions under the decades of occupation. This institution of occupation is the source of all evil.

  • @hawasawayahawa - took your advice, so, is the fact that these people chose to hijack planes into my country's buildings and killed thousands of people a result of this occupation?
