I own Pepper Spray and 2 Tasers. My Pepper Spray is for a Bear in the woods that decides he wants to make me his lunch, while I'm deer hunting. Better than taking my 44 to him, no need for that. We changed the World! This is deja vu. Stay the course! Call for her resignation and insist.

One or two people got chemical burns from the amount used.

UC, children, in Olden Days Civil Disobedience had two well understood components: First, you disobeyed a law you felt was unjust; Two you suffered the consequences.
Fast forward. Since the 90s a new paradigm has arisen: First, lefties disobey a law for whatever reason. Two, the authorities drop the charges and everyone has a good sneering laugh at the system.

Just to keep it clear, I know him and was there, and he and the rest of the movement made it VERY clear that Occupy UC Davis has no public face, no leaders, etc. We are a general consensus based on 100% agreement. He was reluctant to negotiate with the chancellor for this very reason.
it is incredibly reassuring to see reasonable, yet powerful protesting again--I hope more of the Occupy movement can follow the lead of these students in the future. I am proud of these students and leaders, and proud to be a part of the UC Davis family.

If she took responsibility as Chancellor, I can't see how she has any choice other than to resign. It's not enough to fire a few of the campus-cops who did this or launch an "expedited" investigation or make an appeal for community cohesion. With shit like this going down, Katehi needs to leave immediately.

I am a vocal opponent of OWS but I am very edified by the behavior of the protesters in this particular video.
If only all of Occupy was as disciplined as we see in this video, maybe it would be an effective movement for the deconstruction of crony capitalism.
Hopefully you will continue peacefully demonstrating and also see the need to rebuke groups like Occupy Oakland for their disordered behavior.

What a sad sack of losers (the ones sitting in their hoodies I mean). They were given AMPLE time to leave after being asked (as seen in the top left video), and refused to do so. They were not beaten, tazed, shot or anything violent. Pepper spray is often used to diffuse protests and riots, and I CANNOT see what the big deal is. I've been pepper sprayed (willingly for work) and have not suffered any ill effects after. Why threaten to take away an officers job for following orders?!!!!!

UC, children, in Olden Days Civil Disobedience had two well understood components: First, you disobeyed a law you felt was unjust; Two you suffered the consequences.
Fast forward. Since the 90s a new paradigm has arisen: First, lefties disobey a law for whatever reason. Two, the authorities drop the charges and everyone has a good sneering laugh at the system.
